There was another post located here [thread]636[/thread] regarding the same question. It turns out that QBASIC is a 16-bit language, just like Windows 3.1 was. Windows 95 and above were 32-bit with 16-bit support. Starting with Windows XP, however, Microsoft has decided to strip the 16-bit support. Therefore, your Qbasic …

I agree that the old way was not very intuitive. I therefore wanted to make it better when redoing the site, but I thought I'd leave it as one of the last things to do and then figure it out after everything else was done. And it seems I've forgotten …

If you ever get a 404 File Not Found error, it's always on my end. But I'm confused where the problem is. If I go into the Control Panel, what do I click on to duplicate the error?

Right click on your desktop. Click on "Arrange Icons By" and make sure "Lock Web Items on Desktop" is disabled. When it is enabled, you get the blue border.

Google allows you to buy PPC campaigns that link directly to the eBay domain name or to some other domain that you don't own. There is no reason for the redirect.

When advertising your site in various places, try using a query string. For example: www.site.com/?adwords www.site.com/?newsletter etc. It's a good way to label all of the different places you're getting traffic from. Then, use your favorite traffic statistics analyzer - such as Urchin or Hitbox - and you can track …

If you couldn't find your link in the directory, odds are it was automatically deleted by my system already. The directory regularly scans all of the sites in it, and prunes those which don't link back to DaniWeb.

Do you mean that you want all links to open up in a new window? I don't think you could set this as default - nor do I see why you'd want to? On the other hand, you can right click on any link and choose "open in new window"

Yes, it's related to the ads. I noticed it just started happening today for me, as well. Unfortunately, I have not yet narrowed it down to which ad it is. Once I figure that out, I'll contact the owner of the ad and ask him what's up.
