Here I'm OK with Amazon's own player but hey, I'm not a collector and it has enough for me.

PS. Also, Hi! Good to see you are still around.

This would make a fine discussion today for lunch but with COVID-19 that won't be happening soon.

As I know a lot of software developers I will write they are a varied lot. The ones that work for others in the game industry that I know didn't hit the jackpot but put in long hours doing what to some would be grueling work.

Now if you want to develop your own game, go for it. Some make coin with skins and such. I can't possibly write all that is possible in the software and game industry but 99.9% of your success is you. If you can invest the time, develop your skill and if you want your own game, then you might get by.

I don't want to discourage you but there are articles about mobile app developers and how much they make. At first it was like the first folk to the gold mines but now, not so much. But hey, come up with something that folk like and you've hit a mother load.

I think your family is great in trying to help you find your way. Eventually they won't be there to provide whatever they provide so be sure you can make it somehow. If you want to pursue a software career, don't fixate on just games. The industry is much larger than that.

The no risk method starts with full backups. I'm running into more folk that want to skip this step.

On top of that you almost verify you are about ready to lose "my most important data" since those without any backups are the ones the have such fear. Time to get those backups done so you don't lose what you can't lose.

Finally I want to add that upgrading any OS in place carries a risk even if everything should be fine. All it takes is a random power outage at the wrong moment and blammo. It's gone.

  2. Use the sandbox Kitten! I'm reading from your link where it notes the Sandbox:

As to your new question of how Chrome encrypts you could dig into the documentation and if that's not enough find the source code to dig into. I consider your top post answered as from what I know, it's not that simple anymore because you don't want to have some rogue app copy out all your saved passwords.

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

The IT comment is just that. You manage more than the usual so you are the pro here.

Beyond DNS and such. Remember your service may be unreliable. I can't test for that and then we have other issues where folk install Security Suites, set the security to maximum or we fine the suite interferes with normal operations.

in parting be sure the date and time is correct on the PC, routers and such.

I'll be dating myself here but with LEX and YACC you could create a compiler in, well, almost any language you can imagine.
There are tutorials about that older than https://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/text/Lex-YACC-HOWTO

Back in the 80's we had to create such tools from scratch. Today it's rarely done as we have things like lex, yacc, libraries and more.

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

I want to add a thing here. Very few will write such from scratch. IRL (in real life) I see folk use libraries and toolkits. This way they can focus on their app and avoiding the need to recreate the wheel.

HOWEVER if you were on some platform that is full custom like an Arduino custom built for someone, then you get to craft it from the bottom up.

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

Why? Remember you wrote this code (hope that you did since I can only grok it so much) and line 42 looks to use IsOnCamera() so that point would be on camera.

After that, it's a trip the store which is yes a pain but hey, Apple did a great thing here to keep folk from stealing many more phones and tablets.

This sounds like an odd question. To sell products you set up your site to do that. As to SEO, that's something you work just like a million other folk. There are some million discussions about SEO so you should see what is being discussed today and avoid another SEO discussion.

Back to selling. The basics have yet to change. Have the product folk want. Have excellent service and return policies like Amazon. Price is secondary to almost anything else including SEO. SEO does not make the sale.

For Yusaf_13.

You asked "what link would you recommend using to get some bootable USB version of Windows? what is the Windows Go to version? what are the google workarounds?"

I had hope you would research some of that on your own. I do not want to make you feel bad here but here are the research methods I would use.

Remember that Windows does not perform well on USB drives so you don't do this except for a short time while you fix the problems with your PC>

  1. what link would you recommend using to get some bootable USB version of Windows? A: https://www.google.com/search?&q=bootable+USB+version+of+Windows
  2. what is the Windows Go to version? A: https://www.google.com/search?&q=what+is+the+Windows+To+Go+version
  3. what are the google workarounds? A: https://www.google.com/search?&q=bootable+USB+version+of+Windows

Now that you asked I'm going to have to revise my answer about the To Go version as there is news about that which I missed:

The May 2019 update of Windows 10, also known as version 1903, will be the last Windows client operating system to have support for Windows To Go, Microsoft announced recently.

I will no longer write about To Go given it's end.

wpidn.com commented: This is what I wanted to know. Thank you! +0
rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

Let's hear what OS you were using. Windows in the most common versions does not support this. If you want some bootable USB version of Windows it's not cheap. You want the "Windows To Go" version. Or you google workarounds which from what I've seen are pretty awful as they break then the user is asking for support which never happens.

Now about Linux. That's NBD! (no big deal.)

But let's forget all that. Wouldn't a modern system build this as a web page with the backend on the server and you accessing such with a browser?
Also, where's your design document for such a system? Sometimes folk code first and design later.

I see a few problems.

  1. %ld is for long integers. If you answer 11000111101011101100011100011011 to line 9, most C compilers would be capable of containing at least the [−2,147,483,647, +2,147,483,647] so you would blow past this data type capacity.
  2. To overcome such a limitation consider using strings. Then you could find the string's length and use it to count 0's and 1's. Psuedo code only!

strcopy(inputstring, otherstring);
Remove all the 0's with https://www.daniweb.com/programming/software-development/threads/190592/remove-characters-from-string-c from otherstring.
zeros = strlen(inputstring) - strlen(otherstring);

Now you are not limited to long int.

About SMTP email needing account information. That info would be your or their account. I'd stop thinking about that now as you also run into the next brick wall about spam lists, filters and more. Think over how else data can find its way back to you. What other methods have you explored or heard of?

You mention Django so maybe you have a server on the Internet you can send it to?
Maybe POST some data to your web server which logs that into your database?
Example? https://www.w3schools.com/python/ref_requests_post.asp
