Listen to the previous posts telling your to check the Administrator account. It's often left open. If you cannot get in that way you have to hack in.

Irresponsible persons should stop reading here.

I use OPHcrack. It's a free tool and usually gives up Windows XP passwords in about 15 to 30 min depending on the speed of the PC. You can find OPHcrack here. Download the livecd and burn to disk, it has a bootable version on Linux on it. The website has good documentation on how to use the tool and there are even instruction videos available if you do a quick search. If you need help with the tool, post back here.

Ohk according to my daniweb knowledge thos type of information should not be given on this site.if im wrong im wrong,if im right...well to late good info to run away with.lol

Firefox has an addon that will give you a preview of what is behind each tab. It is called "Tab Scope" and can be obtained from the Firefox website addon page.

Remove all RAM and and Replace one at a time if you have more than one stick. What OS are you running?

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

It has something to do with shutdown.exe of windows. It is place at start up you can stop this one by going to run command then type shutdown -a. It will stop fro executing..

Fair enough, but if you read the whole post youll find he needs to do that every time and that should not be a continues thing when a user starts up.

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Hi
Do a checkdsk by slaving youre drive in another machine or out of recovery console. should atleast help you to get into windows. If that fails reset your BIOS thru removing your cmos for a hour or two

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Surprise surprise!this is one funky problem, we'll crack it though.Im sticking to the roots of what your prob is(shutdown problem)
---
follow these
-checkdisk
-windows repair through Recovery Console

if all fails post a HJT log and paste it here

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

so janine how does it behave with a usb keyboard?anything new??

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

of you went with a sentence anyway

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

remote desktop sure isnt that bad to setup if thats what you mean you at the right place to get youreself up and running if you need help with that.Thats if the physical connection is already there.

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

if thats the case then youll need new bat3 or charger.first test another charger if the good charger fails then youll need new bat3

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

mobo failure defnitely a posibility, but lets determine that for sure.
-all youre BIOS settings is as you always had it(sometimes defaults can be a pain in the behind)
-youre cmos isnt losing power(test another one)
-you werent effected by a virus before all this crazyness started
(trying to rule out the "checksum error" massage)

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Hi see if this will help you if its on a home pc

Go to registry editor and navigate to the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Software\Policies \Microsoft\Windows \WindowsUpdate\AU

Change the “NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers” DWord value to the required number.

0 = False (Allow auto-reboot)
1 = True (Disallow auto-reboot)

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Many people I know use Firefox and say it is fantastic, personally I can't see much difference between it and IE7.
I use Opera and would recommend it to anyone, not only does it have the nice Speed dial features but it looks good and works a treat.
Only downside is that not all websites are compatable with it yet so I usually have to use IE7 for the odd site :-(

I think its cos IE started of with some features not playing into the favours of the users, whereas FF started of just the other year.that being the case ff (creators) was able listen and to IE users and fix it accordingly.IE is @its 7 ver already and ff @ ver3.make sense

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Im with ya now
-------------
Sorry for the late reply:
So Seattle Sam if youre PSU works fine on another mobo then Im let to believe its youre mobo or some unlikely other prob.aunistly Ive never worked that much on dell machines to come across that this is a common known prob with them

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Sure,so with you jumperpins in tact, wiring for power button MUST be correct (modbo will give you a guide)otherwise it will not do anything ask a buddy for a PSU(known good one) start up only with HD cpu and attached to mobo.no external cards etc..
post reply after that

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

$1049 ??jeepers.give me alot of alcohol and drug me against my will, and then give me my bank card.Thats the only way Ill buy 16gb.
I think Ill wait for the future
16gb to do what with
anyways good info.

Ive been in the trade for a long time and never bothered to overclock.wonder why, guess I just buy new cpu's and RAM on the companies expense...Im so wrong

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

BSOD=Blue Screen Of Death, what does it say there

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

you mean theres no power on the machine ??no lights no nothing?

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

WeLcOmE SeattleSam
is this a new custom build pc that never worked before or did it work/run before?
lets take it from there

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Ohk so you start the mobo with ram hd excl all external cards and you get no display....?does the lights remain on or does it shutdown/time out?

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

can you tell us what was the last activity that you did before all this started

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

ohk fair enough.if youre happy than thats it
any other q's you know where to ask though

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Reverse your actions to its defaults. meaning 256mb RAM incl all other changes. As for the termal grease did you remove the processor when youve applied the grease?

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

if its license programs just buy another license for all your programs and install it that way on your work machine(I dont do that though)
-Remote desktop is another good access method
-If its freeware you can just download and install from work

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Removing your cmos bat3 for a couple of hours might do the trick. if that fails can you tell me what last actions you did be4 this happened

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

ws the ba3 not low when it did a shutdown. Check the conections from your charger to your bat3 in debt to see if its making proper contact
