yeah if its a high end ati card (greater than an x1650) then it needs the additional power connector and a fair amount of power (30a+) maybe when the PSU died it took your PC with it :(

check your BIOS. Some BIOSES have an option for "antivirus" or "bootsecotr protection" or "mbr overwrite protect". This needs to be OFF for partitioning and writing the bootloader to be successful.

1) no 2) its supposed to make itself slower when on battery. Its a powersaving feature 4) you might have spyware or something 5) laptops tend to get hot. Blow the dust out of the fan and do not run it on your lap

I would buy Daniweb - I would pay Dani to run daniweb of course ;) I would also have a money room (a few million in cash for me to roll around in) I would be very eccentric e.g have a gold toilet

the photo is stored in the database as an OLE object? dont do that. Its bad. What you should do is have the pictures in a folder and store the path to it in a text field, then have VB read the path and display the image

you wont find many or maybve even any at all . Microsoft products are expensive to host as you need windows 2003 and licences.

SSDK02.exe is related to the netsky/zlob worm rename hijhackthis to something else and run the log scan again. Some nasty worms and viruses disguise tjemselves from known removal tools like it depending on the name of the .exe

asp.net / MSSQL is nice and easy because you can use Visual Studio to do most of your code for you However, you need to invest in an expensive windows server whereas with PHP and MySQl its inexpensive.

the way i do it (screenshots of linux installs) is to use a Virtual Machine like virtual pc basically virtual pc is a fake pc that runs on your real pc as software. It has fake hard disks etc... (big files) you need 1gb+ ram do do it properley

HP/Compaq ? Dell? there the main server manufaturers for small businesses. Make sure you understand the licencing if you get windows server. You may need to buy additional CALs (client access licences)

not much vb.net uses the .net framework so its easier to do stuff (dont have to mess about with the win32 API which is badly documented) but it needs .net to be installed on the machine running it.
