Hey Paddy,
I do not know about your other questions.
Here's a hint.
if(Orig[i] > Sub[j-1])
Then insert Orig[i] into Sub[j]
No I don't know which uses more RAM. google should know though :)
Hey,
Have you tried running the antimalware/spyware programs in windows safe mode? I believe safe mode boots up windows without booting other programs, so in theory if there is a nasty on your computer then it shouldn't boot up in safe mode and therefore you should be able to run the scanning applications in safe mode.
Hi tacyos,
The power supply requirements are listed at newegg under specs, I'm not sure where you are wanting to buy it at.
You may not need to replace your power supply. If you can find out what your current power supply is and how many watts it is, usually around 500 watts is good enough depending on what else your computer is running. And you want to make sure you have the needed connections on the power supply unit.
What card you get is going to depend on what size tv you are going to be running it to and what you are going to be doing with it, such as games, movies, etc.. I think you should be able to get a card under a hundred dollars if you aren't playing games and the tv isn't over 30 inches.
It just all depends really. If you have more questions please let us know.
Hi,
Is the browser being redirected pages when you load it up?Or is it just not loading the web page?
If its the first you have some type of spyware or adware. You should run spybot search and destroy or maleware bytes to take care of it. But be careful not erase important files files, sometimes these programs will detect files that are not actually harmful. If you have time, read over the help files and make a backup/restore spot.
If its the second, then something is wrong with your connection to the internet. Which I'm not sure of a simple solution to try in order to fix it.
Let us know and we can try some tests in order to figure it out.
Hey Mike, I think you are confusing the recommended RAM with how much RAM an application actually uses. The recommended RAM already factors in how much RAM the operating system is going to be using. So itunes will recommend 512MB to give room for the operating system and the application. I suppose this is to keep the users from having to add it up themselves.
So you should be fine with 1 gig, but I would recommend 2 gig if you can afford it. This is to help multitasking and such. Or you can always upgrade later to 2 gig if you decide you need it.
Bad Post
I think you need another ending bracket for the for loop.
Well first off Vista is notorious for not working with certain audio programs do to vista using a new audio architecture. So I would research on the software you installed and ensure that it has vista support and any surrounding issues.
Hijack this is an analyzer to scan your computer for possible hijacks and maleware bytes performs a similar operation.
Yes your virus scanner can miss viruses. One virus scanner cannot detect every possible virus out there.
To my knowledge torrents can have viruses and often do.
To protect against viruses and such use a virus scanner as you are doing, keep it updated, and download from trusted sources.
Did you try the old memory to see if it would boot up?
I think the AC charges the battery so it would require a battery in order work.
Your problem sounds memory related to me, but without the spare RAM to check it I can't tell you how to verify this.
Make sure you didn't bump anything and unplug a cable somewhere, especially from the hard drive you are booting off of. Next, check the boot list in BIOS and make sure the hard drive you are booting from is on that list.
Remove the semi colon from
#include <iostream>;
Oh ya I apologize.
1. Hit your windows key + R
2. type 'cmd ' press enter
3. follow with my original post
This doesn't work if you are at an organization with certain firewalls, such as on campus or hospital.
I also remembered reading that you can use http://www.whois.net/
Did you uninstall the previous graphics driver before installing the new one?
I have been told that this is important. I have never bothered to do it before so you will need to find a tutorial for a proper explanation and guide.
That's all I can think of. Good luck.
I can't find the specs for the monitors you have listed. But you want a higher refresh rate for gaming purposes and more pixels doesn't hurt either.
You can use the ping utility in windows.
1. Bring up command prompt
2. Type - ping www.google.com
3. replace google with whatever website you want
You didn't happen to hook up a new printer when this started happening did you?
I ask because I have a similar error in word related to my printer that there is no solution for except to change my default printer.
Two bad sticks in a row is a little strange, but bad hardware is not uncommon. Yet I have to ask...
Are you 'safely removing the drive' ?
I ask because if data is traveling to the drive while being removed it will cause damage to the drive.
My experience with Firefox and plugins is that you have to go to the plugins specific website and download it. Using the method of click to install when on a website, such as youtube, doesn't work.
Hope that made sense.
Does the data traveler work on another computer?

Anyone know what those are?
To use the System Configuration Utility method
* Close all open programs.
* Click Start, Run and type MSCONFIG in the box and click OK
* The System Configuration Utility appears, On the BOOT.INI tab, Check the "/SAFEBOOT" option, and then click OK and Restart your computer when prompted.
* The computer restarts in Safe mode.
* Perform the troubleshooting steps for which you are using Safe Mode.
When you are finished with troubleshooting in Safe mode, open MSCONFIG again, on the BOOT.INI tab, uncheck "/SAFEBOOT" and click OK to restart your computer
Not enough watts being provided by the power supply?
Have you checked for malware and viruses? Also is the connection slow the entire time the PC is on?
I used an HJT log analyzer such as this one
http://www.2-spyware.com/hjt.php
Then I did some Google research on the files that are harmful according to the HJT analyzers to find which file causes problems similar to what you are experiencing.
But these are going off of others opinions about the files and not necessarily professional by any means, so another opinion is always good. And a proper backup never hurts either.
Hope that helps.
At what point during reboot does your computer freeze? Such as do you ever see the windows logo vs not ever seeing motherboard logo.
You may have to manually change the default program the your files open with. Do this by right clicking the file -> Open with -> Choose Default Program
Then it should save it as default for next time.
My research is showing this to be your problem
O2 - BHO: D - {7AA85BE6-ABCE-3C5D-B796-1B2B624D334B} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\gl44078.dll
I would get a second opinion though.
I thought of something last night. When clicking the .cpp file make sure you do that inside the IDE. I wasn't clear about that on my first post.
Ya like Supishio says, those temps are okay. I suppose you could try removing the old thermal paste and putting some new on if you wanted to.
But you could be right about your power supply giving out. Though I don't know of an accurate method of testing your current power supply. Maybe try and order a PSU from somewhere that has a good return policy.
Hope you get it fixed up and back to playing call of duty.
i dont think so. i mean i right clicked it, then i clicked properties, and i didnt find anything about Runtime Library or "Multi-threaded (/MT)" or "Multi-threaded Debug (/MTd)... its just like a regular files properties. anyways that program blocks watever, i cant find the MT thing :( :(
Oh thats weird. I did it in 2005 edition just how Comatose explained.
Also if I remember right this problem can be solved by building your application as a Microsoft app instead of an empty clr project.
Or perhaps it had to be built as a Microsoft app for what Comatose is explaining to work.:-/
You can do it in express. Right click your .cpp file and then properties. Works for me at least.
Could be. I would check the temperature of your hardware before spending any money though. I use Asus PC Probe. There's other software out there though to preform the same task.
It also won't be the most accurate reading, but it should give you a general idea of the current temp to ensure that it is not an overheating problem.
OK cleaned up the CPU and heatsink, re-applied paste and hey-presto I'm writting to you on my new system!! The heatsink was 'pre-loaded' with paste but it was either not enough or just really poor quality - I'd recommend applying your own to anyone else with trouble from the i7's.
Thanks to all who offered advice, this is a great forum so a billion points to everyone and I hope this little thread solves it for someone else too.
PS MatEpp...let the jealousy commence ;)
:icon_mrgreen: Jealousy commencing :twisted:
I liked Dude's link.
My results.
INTP: "Architect". Greatest precision in thought and language. Can readily discern contradictions and inconsistencies. They are good at logic and math and make good philosophers and theoretical scientists, but not writers or salespeople. 1% of the total population.
Then it says in the more detailed part that this personality type is good for writing. Ha!
Edit: Perhaps the fact that I noticed their inconsistency says that this test is correct.
Very good description of myself though.
Oh I see what's going on. Just study the loop like StuXYZ is saying. And I wrote bad code earlier. Here it is corrected.
if (a % b == 0)
{
cout << b << " is a factor of " << a << endl;
temp = temp + b;
}
cout << "The sum of the factors is " << temp;
And the concept behind this is to create an integer that is zero. Then you have your factors as b.
So say b = 1, then 1 + 0 = 1. temp = 1
Then say b equals 2 = 1 + 2 =3. temp = 3
And so on until the loop stops.
Hope that helps.
Sorry code tag didn't work.
I think this is what you want. Add a temp and use it to add together your factors.
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
main()
{
int a;
int b;
int temp = 0;
b = 0;
cout<<"Enter a number:";
cin>>a;
for (b=2; b<=a; b++)
{
if (a % b == 0)
cout << b << " is a factor of " << a << endl;
temp = temp + b;
}
cout << "The sum of the factors is " << temp;
return 0;
}
I can't answer your modem question, but have you considered setting up an Ad Hoc network?
http://www.cs.washington.edu/research/edtech/presenter/doc/adhoc.html
Should let you share your Verizon card wireless with other computers.
First off I am jealous of your new system.
Second I assume the motherboard is still under warranty so the best thing to do would probably be to just send back your P6T Deluxe for a new one. It is a new product and I wouldn't be surprised if Asus still has a few bugs to work out.
Third, I have heard of motherboards heating up once and then the trigger that tells the motherboard that it is heating up gets 'stuck'. Might want to do a google search on that issue. Most likely involves resetting something, but I have never had to solve that problem myself so it is best to find a tutorial from someone that has.
That's my two cents.
I would most likely say that it is just vista "optimizing" your hard-drive. Yet I haven't figured out if vista does this on boot up or shutdown.
Is it slower to shutdown when you have had your pc on for a while, like a few days, compared to being on for a day?
File -> Save Page As -> Browse to desktop
http://www.daniweb.com/forums/thread166357.html
Same problem not to long ago. May help if you read over it.
Simply, there is something not working with your old memory. Could be the bios settings are not resetting themselves for the old memory, or the memory could have been damaged while being swapped around.
I assume you are using IE as your browser. Right click where you have your links saved up at the top of the browser, where you would normally see file, edit, view etc.. Then choose menu bar. From there you go to file, send, desktop.
Or *mumble mumble*

Windows sounds broken to me. Try loading the Windows installation disk, then repair it that way.
http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm#RI
There's some instructions on how to do so.
Couldn't the drive be accessed with a live cd?
