Your problem could be caused by quite a few things. The first thing to try is to boot into safe mode and see if you can open control panel there. Safe mode instructions - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial61.html

Try pressing F8 before windows begins to load then select safemode with networking. Your computer will need to be wired to your router as wireless will not work.

I very much doubt it as I have never come across anyone do that successfully and I am a computer engineer. Your bios wont have support for a quad core or support for the bus speeds of a quad I suspect.

Only windows 7 is able to shrink a partition without the use of 3rd party software and this thread is in the Windows NT / 2000 / XP section.

That sounds like a hardware fault, you will need to take it to a professional for repair I very much suspect!

The screen has what's known as a "dried cap". That means that 1 or more of the electrolytic can type capacitors has died. You can spot them fairly easily if you feel up to taking it apart as the tops usually dome up and/or they leak fluid. Capacitors are cheap …

Emachines are poorly build rubbish. I suspect your motherboard and/or power supply is about to go. The best thing you can do is sell it before it dies completely. I have worked on many Emachines and %90 of the time they are beyond economical repair once they have stopped booting …
The Dallas Basics and the Basic Failures The Dallas Chip is the real-time clock (RTC) — system time and date — as well as storage for console-level settings. There's arguably a basic Alpha system design fault — or at least a “it could have been done better” case — in …

What you do is shrink the partition to the size you want it to be then create new partitions in the unused space that will then show up in disk management!

The 15 pin connector supplies video only, you will need a 3.5mm stereo jack to whatever the screen has on the back for audio (typically 3.5mm jack or 2x phono sockets).

Master and slave settings are for older systems that cannot use cable select. Those settings are mostly (but not exclusively) for the very old computers that use 40 conductor data cables rather than the faster 80 conductor cables.

Is looks like it could be down to a capacitor. Give all the caps on the card a very close inspection for signs of damage.

I suspect it's overheating. There is a pad between the CPU and the heatsink. It might be worth putting some heat transfer paste between the 2 to aid thermal conductivity. Also, make sure you give it a good dust out too!

One thing tho. Laptop internal screens are NOT hot swappable. Connecting the internal screen to a running laptop can do damage! The external connector to a screen has protective diodes and capacitors, the internal connector doesn't.

You would be far beter off connecting the printer to the network rather than connecting it to 1 PC then sharing it out. Network printing, once configured correctly, is much more reliable. Buying a network cable for it would be a worth while investment!
