That is because SATA did not exist when XP was written. You need to search for a SATA driver for your motherboard.

After some research, you are the victim of a trojan. Download, update, and run a full scan with Mbam http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php Once done, post it's log in this thread.

Yup, bios battery for sure. If you have a standard pc then it will be a CR2032 and is quite cheap to get a replacement for.

I had the exact same problem some time back, I couldn't get to my very own website. Converting to FireFox fixed the problem. :)

64 bit version of what? Both XP and Vista are available in 64bit versions. The best thing to do is google for 64 bit drivers and get hardware that you can find drivers for.

Your PC looks like it could well be infected. Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebyt...are_d5756.html) to your desktop. * Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program. * At the end, be sure to checkmark the Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish. * If an update …

Have you tried some new batteries in your wireless keyboard? You usually need to reset both the keyboard and it's receiver, have you done that?

If this has only happened after you have moved it then it is most likely not something serious. You need to remove and refit your ram and all cards. Let me know how you get on. :)

One thing that can work for a while is to put the faulty hard drive into a resealable bag and stick it in the freezer over night. From now on, always back up any data you don't want to loose.

Re: help

Bin it and buy a new computer. Emachines are very well known for being extremely poor quality. The PSU usually goes then it does serious damage to the motherboard. There are tens of thousands of them clogging up landfill sites across the world right now.

Does it have different speed ram sticks in it by any chance? I have encountered many old Pavilions in the past with a mismatch of ram. Usually 256meg of PC100 and 256meg of PC133. Putting all PC100 or all PC133 can sometimes fix the problem. In some cases, the second …

That is because your laptop has a SATA hard drive. Sata hard drives did not exist when server 2003 was made. Unless you can find a SATA driver that you can put on a floppy or cd, you will never get that to install.

You either have a faulty graphics card that requires replacement (most likely) or you have a corrupted bios (not very likely). You can reset your bios. Your motherboard manual will tell you how to do it. Replacing the graphics card is most likely to fix the problem tho. As caperjack …

There isn't much that can go wrong with that type of card apart from a manufacturing fault. If it was me, I would get it replaced. The only other thing it could be is the possibility that your PSU isn't good enough. Can you have a look at it's label …

You should be able to get a usb adapter from somewhere like ebay that will allow you to connect it's hard drive to another pc quite easily and cheaply.

Perhaps it is overheating? Give the CPU's heatsink and fan a good dust out and see if that helps.
