sometime ,but only sometimes ,a restart is in order when you make a settings change ,so set it to boot at start up,shutdown and reboot windows right away .not saying it will work but doesn't cost anything to try it

Do a search for winlogon.exe ,if you find more than one you have avirus\trojan .The good one is in c:\windows\system32 ,folder So do a virus scan if you find more than one file .

i thing if the bios is set to quick boot it will not show all the boot screen info ,you can disable the quick/fast boot in the bios or ,most older board will show it if you hit the tab key at some point on bootup
