there shoud be a model number on the little tag on the bottom or back of the router ,there is nothing in your post that will lead us to your exact router

Tovak, if you are having problem with you computer ,please start your own discusion ,also hijackthis is not the program it once was because viruses and trojans work differently than they one did , so the log really doesn't show much useful infor anymore .

for me it took a few days and a bit of googling everytime i needed someting from 8 that was different than how i got it from xp,7, vista ect ect ,just use basic windows knowledge for the useuall stuff and google for help on therest , oh yeah ALT+F4 will bring up the shutdows box ,mose over the 4 cornes ,use the lower left corner when the start button comes up when you mouse over ,right click for shortcuts to most erverything i use on a daily bases ,and for software i use daily i have pined to the desktop toolbar.
for the most part i don't even realise im using win8 and not win7

not sure what one is the best but if you google best top 10 free ones you will get some results ,not sure if the free ones are a good as $500.00easyrecovery] dollar one ,for i have had good results with a free one called Reccuva

there is no magic solution ,you just need tomake sure you are creating the install dvd properly ,using iso burning software and a dvd-r disk for best results .if you don't have iso burning software this one will do .

you need to burn the iso with iso burning software or win7 and win8 have built in iso burning ,if you have win7 or 8 just right clicvk on the iso file and choose burn to disk ,better to use dvd-r than dvd-rw disks ,

so does it apper after you hit the browser icon to on the internet or does it appear when windows bootup gets to your desktop .first place to look for something from that program would be Start/allprograms /startup folder ,see if it left someting there .
and im not going to reccomend a registry program and i would not have suggest a driver program for you sound problem ,but i will suggest a Microsoft program to check for auto runs like you have .
AUTORUNS run the program as administrator ,and go to the login tab and look for anyting releated to Performersoft ,if found uncheck it and close Autoruns and reboot to check if mada difference ,good luck

hi, did you use a iso burning software to burn the iso to the disk ,or did you just copy burn the iso file to the disk

this means wndows is only seeing the serial cable ,and not the mouse ,what happens when you plug the mouse directly into the Serial port with out the cable

mouse is a "modem" it says however i disconnected the mouse and left the serial cable for it plugged in and comtest still said it was a modem! but the mouse was not attached!!!

to get to device manager ,right click on mycomputer .go properties ,on the left you will see device manger ,click it ,scroll down to network adapters ,hit the + ,it should show at least 2 device ,one for the wired device and one for wifi ,it will have wifi writting in it , if it there right click on it ,go properties and go to power option and uncheck ,windows can turn this device off to save power ,save and exit

sometimes this can be the results of a virus , for me i use ccleaner program . tool section for uninstall some program that add and remove will not ,other use Revo uninstaller or other software
and i know there is likely a fix for this ans i fixed it years ago , but i cant remember what it was

first ,did it ever work for you , not sure about your Dell but some have a button/switch on the case or keys to turn off wifi make sure its not turned off ,make sure drivers are installed for the wifi network device lookin device manager for that info

just because i think it so large, and more prone to errors,like the ones you aregetting ,and use the right click when you drag and drop to give choice of copy or move ,I always use copy in case something goes wrong in the move you still ahve the orignal ,

i suggest moving files in smaller sizes ,about 50 gig at a time ,just using drag and drop ,go to this location of the music files on the computer assuming you keep them in the default location .

in our house we use microsoft security essencials,for antivirus ,amd spywareblaster for url filtering with great success

sounds like browser shortcuts if it is what browser are you using ,instead of using shortcuts why not just use browser favorites

back in the day when i first came across one ,and i think it was system mechanic .they found all kinds of errors and fix a fraction of them for free and then wanted money to fix the rest ,and if you did do that ,you seen miminial results at best ! and I think that some bad people see how computer users were eager to payup,these bad people invented the rouge/fake malware/virus cleaner tool

ok, right click on [my]Compter icon ,go properties ,open device manager, open display adapter, right click on whats there and go properties /driver ,make a note of the date and version number .
then go to dell support for your laptop model in drivers check display and compare what they have there with yours ,

Well, there may very well be a good reason as to why he wants one, the other, or both. It's his computer. He may want to put even more on his PC. For all you know he may be testing them purely out of curiosity.

This gentleman may be a brilliant mathematician, writer, or scientist and have no interest in the mundane side of computing such as twiddling with hardware or software. He may just use his computer as a tool and as a means to an end. These programs he is asking about might just allow him to keep tabs on how well his PC is performing, and if there ever was a quirk with it he may just want to pay a qualified engineer to sort it out - just as you would take your car to a mechanic because it is too difficult for you to repair.

hi, i would first try a system restore back to a time before it started happening,if no change ,then i would would try running system file checker a few time .
go to start/run, type in SFC /SCANNOW , it may require yo uto have a windows cd i nthe drive to run sfc

hi, first let me say,"keep it on site " you should not post your email address on any forum ,email spam being the reaason .and we will not email you for the same resons,
did you check asus site for win7 drivers for the laptop ,what is the exact model # ,usually found on the bottom of the laptop EDIT , for get it they don't even have Vista Drivers listed ,you might have to buy a USB wireless device to get internet on that laptop .
did you go to device manager and if reference to the network device is there ,right clcik on it and choose update, and get win7 to check the internet for a driver .

i read the other thread ,and i see nothing wrong in the help that was offered so far to OP,for them to think microsoft filpped his desktop is nosence,at best he/she would get message down by the clock telling him/her that there windows software is pirated .and fix it by buing a legit copy ,wich is there best advice ,i don't microsoft is going to advise them to get Linux version

i assume you meant you ran a registry fix tool from the internet ,i suggest you stay away from such programs as they cause more trouble than they are worth ,like bigpaw i will suggest malwarebytes free version as a first step .
