hi,what is the make and model of the computer /laptop or desktop

all the more reason to suspect rouge background process,trojan or virus for short!

I don't see how that could be it because it literly just started going slow 2 months ago it was fine one day the total bull sh*t the next

ahhh, working for Microsoft Tech Support, we get lots of calls asking us to fix their computers simply because "we" called them up and put it there in the first place. When I try and explain that they were scammed, they again blame us for not doing anything about it. Just dandy...

I tell them that micrcosoft would have no idea whats on there computer ,anf quit frankly im sure they could care less either and do you really think that they go around calling the millions of people who own a computer

when using ccleaner did you run the cleaner part of it to empty temp file,ect ect .
a lot of times a bad harddrive or ram can cause a computer to become slow ,you need to troubleshoot by running a harddrive scan ad a ram scan , harddrive manufactures supply drive scanniong software on there web site,you need to know the name of the hard drive to get the right tools , ,and you can use memtest86 to check you ram ,,you will need to create bootable cdroms to run these scans .memtest86, you would run memtest overnight for best results .
also i foung the specs on that model laptop and it will take upto 4gig of ram

sort of ,they say there are from Microsoft and tell me/people i/they have a virus on your computer and try to convince people to allow control to the desktop ,by going to a certin web page and downloading the tool to do so ,and the tool is a virus and then they convince people to give credit card to pay to fix the virus ,bottom line its a scam and if you go along with it they win ,and never fix you computer ,so it cost you ,
i am not dumb enough to do this but i have customers who do ,the trick of it is they say they are from Microsoft and people believe them

becarefull what you buy on ebay ,do you have a friend or family member that has a copy of winxp[must be same version as yours ] you could borrow and use, just useing your key to install winxp

yes you could ,only problem i see would be the back plate ,the dell has it built into its case ,this is not a serisous problem ,just leaves the back open a bit more ,and allows a bit most dust to get in to case ,i done it a few time when i never had correct back plate

sometimes when they sit ,the humity is so great ,that they sweat!
what i would first try is to remove and reinstall the ram chips ,and maybe even the harddrive ,just remove and reinstall to to make new contact with the motherboard slots

most of us learned the way you did ,,you mention it did not say how to put the cpu back on and you bent the pins ,rule of thumb , put things back the opsite of how you took them off ,next time make not of the little arrows on cpu and the base plug,tip : if pins are bent slitely i use to use a credit card to run through the rows of pins ,my giggle for today was the use of "toothpaste ", happy learning ,

Just had a good google and win7 64bit can use upto 128gb of ram

as long as you motherboard supports that much also .its likely all newer ones do now

did you come looking for help or to just complain about win8 .you gave us no info about you computer at all ,like make and model if its a brand name ,if it a laptop or tower computer ect ect ect . just giving that fact you are upgrading from winxp suggests its old and maybe not compatible with win8 and or your computer maker has no drivers for for win8

write protect is a small swith on the side ,not sure what you mean by card present

system:win7 32 bit (rather not change to 64)

i suggest you retink this, to get the full potential of your computers hardware ,ie:its 64bit cpu and the ability to utilize a lot more ram .it would make for a much better computer for you . remember that most 32bit app will work with 64bit if thats you concern

i have been using and fixing computer for years now and have never seen or had a device do this before without it being a driver compatiblity issue, but when i have a video device doing this it was only after i did a troubleshoot on the device .i think you need to find correct win7 drivers for the device ,what is the make and model of the laptop .found on the back of the laptop .better still try this so i can see the info

does Atheros 5007UG WirelessAdapter 2 show up in device manager ,the problem could be because of win7 driver comaptability for this device .

it could be disconnecting from the internet because it resetting the connection to the network[internet] .i think thats a posable anyway .are you connected wireless or wired when this happens .if wired try disabling the wireless device in device manager after it reinstalls .then reboot computer to see what happens
the restoring of windows could be just causing the problem to start over again and again

not sure if you are uisng win7 or 8 ,but you should be able to find reference to it in msconif /startup in win 7 or task manager /startup tab and check it to stop it from doing this all the time

Download the mothrboard manual and look at the motherboard layout it indicates where everthing is connected

cables have this labels LED+ LED-,HDD.But on tha motherboard where the cables are to fit into have no labels

sounds like the wires for the front panel, power button/hdd led lite and green power lite . you will need to look for a manual for the model of motherboard you have .

media center free addition is over, and if you applied for a key and haven't use it yet you are to late for that even, i do believe , i recieved a email a while back stating a deadline to use the key ,of corse i forget the date, lol

i will asume you mean ssd , what version of windows did you install ,did you install chipset and othere driver form your computer makers website

also ,it could be that the free one missed a problem with your disk that theothers didn't and when you go to use it it may not work , just another way of looking at the situation! i would run chkdsk on the drive and then try Ghost or Acroins see what kind of results you get

only thing i can say is ,its likely a stuck key or a bad keyboard even maybe

5.5 is slow i would say anything you can get faster and the price is in your budget would be a benfit ,check with isp to see what they offer ,20 or 40 would be best if they offer that ,but 100 people on at the same time is going to slow down some what ever one you have

im on cable in Canada ,my isp offers 20-40-80 and 200 mbps

downloading driver is one thing ,did you install then and did they show up in device manager as working .
to check device manager ,right click on mycomputer ,go properties ,on the let click on device manager , check down the list for sound ,hit + and what do you see .
also you could try getting the chipset drivers and othere suggested drivers in the dell list for your laptop on the driver download site
