Your problem is your laptop will shut down after 3 seconds it is turn on, right? And you said you have to remove battery and power cord to book again. What do you mean by that? When you say plug in the VGA do you mean VGA connector?

1) Reset your Bios settings first and see whether you can boot up normally.

What exactly is wrong with my first post above?

The last post is in last year try not to revive dead thread, hughesj. But nice info above!

Answers these questions first and the above by the two volunteers.

1) Have you added any new parts or componets recently? This information will be vital.
2) How old is your computer

Now try these trobleshooting steps. Basically your computer have one problem but can be classified as two. Cannot boot up to log in screen and no power

1) Is the power supply voltage set correctly for your computer
2) Is any cable attached to your computer loose
3) Is there any loose screw in your computer case. Shake it gently and see whether you hear any screw sounds.
4) Take every component out and place them back again.
5) Is there power supply to start up your laptop. Plug in the power adapter and see.

What is your CPU usage? I doubt it is an overheating issue but you can't rule that out entirely. Seems like some faulty components in your PC. Do you hear any loud noises coming from your fan before and after playing? Are all your drivers updated? Does other game have this problem.

I also want you to test the graphic card on another spare laptop and see whether when you play games like Dragon Age Origins, will the spare laptop crash. This test is to determine the problems like with the video card and not with the computer problem.

1) Do you hear any beep sounds?

Steps:

1) Clearing the CMOS
2) Make sure the computer is receiving enough voltage to power up
3) Take everything out of your computer and place them back again. They maybe lose. You can also check for faulty parts or blown fuse.
4) Is the power supply voltage the require one for your computer.
5) Check whether any screw inside your computer is loose. Shake the computer case to hear whether there are loose screws. if there is, tighten it. You have to open the case first.

Have you do all this steps correctly. When you go Account and Sync, there is an option to add a new account have you try that?

I agree with Crunchie above. Downloading music without the singer permission is considred illegal. If you have a dics of the music you can easily burn to itunes. Downloading music to PC have to depends on what country you live in. In such counries they allow you to rip the whole album but most countries do not. So you have to check that first.

Do what caperjack said first. Can show me an image of your problem. Seems you are having a blue screen of death problem but at the same time does not. As your TCP/IP error is somthing with networking.

1) What is your TCP/IP settings?
TCP/IPv4 or TCP/IPv6?
2) Have you changed any network settings recently?

You can check whether your drive is up to date or not properly install by going to the device manager and have a look. Some drivers require you to manual update it by going to device manager and update it. But still glad your problem is solved:)

Seems like a hardware problem to me. You follow PCtestcard and flagstar advice first if that fails bring your computer to a repair shop and have an expert to look at it more closely.

Frankly, if you are going to spend money on protection and want to go the full security suite route, Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 is difficult to beat.

I have been recommending Kaspersky for almost ten years now. I've watched as other AV products have diminished in quality or simply fallen by the wayside. Not so with Kaspersky - they seem to keep getting better.

Kaspersky is awesome so does its anti virus. I bear a grudge against Norton after it fail to clean up the virus properly. There is a link here you can take a look. Not sure whether the review and ratings are reliable but still why not have a look at it:)

You want to format your thumb drive. What format type have you choose? Can other flash drive when plug in to your computer be formatted? If yes the flash drive you want to format but can't, is having a problem. If that is the case i will address that later. Try the thumb drive on other laptops and see whether it can be format.

It is a Ram failure.

1) Remove new memory that you added recently ( It might cause the problem as it might not be compatible with your computer )
2) Make sure the memory sticks is placed in properly. Remove and plug in the memory stick again.
3) Change memory stick location. Swap the sides.
4) Test out using a spare memory.

Out of the three McAffee is the best. Not really the best out there in the world but comparing with Norton and Zonealarm, it is better. Zonealarm is good but takes up a lot of space, Norton is not very good. There are problems about the software all the time so i would not use that. So McAffee is my choice:)

This problem occur most of the time when you key in an wrong IP address. Is there any security softwares or firewall blcoking this. If yes change the firewall settings try not to disable it.
