(My apologies if this is the wrong forum section) Hello everyone, I have recently been confronted by two problems with my computer, which I purchased two years ago. These are my specs Quadcore Intel i7 860 @ 2.80Ghz ATi Radeon HD 5770 1GB 4GB of DDR-3 RAM 500 GB SATA hard drive 600w PSU Running Windows 8 Consumer Preview Whenever rendering videos (Adobe Premire & Sony Vegas) or playing games (Battlefield 3) my computer suddenly shuts off. The problem I am having is with a new rig I was putting together. When I start the computer it keeps on going on and off without even actually starting. The fans startup and shutdown but I can't even get to bios. Its as if the computer gets just enough power to initialize the hardware and then it runs out. At some times it manages to bootup but after a while it freezes and there appears red and green dots/lines all over the screen in varying numbers every time. Of the new rig the mobo (asrock z77 pro), the cpu …

Hey Guys! So... I left my PC back home when i went off to college and now that I'm back for summer, it seems that it has missed me because it doesn't work anymore. **First Problem:** When I tried to switch it on, it would start to boot (I'd see the fans try to spring to life) and then it would immediately switch itself off. **What I Tried:** 1. Removed peripherals and reseated all the hardware (RAM sticks, video card, CPU, etc.) -- No luck 2. Reset BIOS to eliminate overclocks. (removed battery) -- No luck 3. Took the motherboard, …

I've never encountered anything like this and have no idea where to begin to troubleshoot. What happens is when I turn on the computer, it will show the motherboard (gigabyte) splash screen, then cut to black and monitor says it's going to sleep... meaning the display signal got cut right there. The computer remains powered, but nothing happens and it never loads to OS or anything. Not sure what this could even mean. Any ideas? Thanks!!

Hi guys, I've been a longtime reader here for a while, but this is my first post. I just submitted a game I've been working on for the past month, called Labyrinth of Zarus, to the Pokki HTML 5 game contest. I'm in the running to win a laptop and potentially more prizes, so I'm hoping you guys can try out my game and let me know what you think. Labyrinth of Zarus is a retro-themed adventure/dungeon crawler video game. You play as a treasure hunter searching for the lost treasures inside the labyrinth. Hi, I am looking for the worlds most realistic open world racing game. My definition of realism is: 1: when youre going 200 miles an hour, and when you crash into a wall youre car is all smashed (need for speed has a huge problem with that). 2: Realistic driving physics, if you floor the throttle in the game, the car slides around and just doesnt start accelerating really fast. 3: Other stuff, youre car has a limited amount of gas, if you pop or loose a tire you can continue driving, and if you drive off of a cliff …

Steve Wozniak (or Woz to his friends and admirers) not only founded one of the most important (technology-wise) and influential (culturally) companies to date but he also practically invented the personal computer. His design, that of interfacing with a computer using a keyboard and screen, is still the standard today. Before Woz conceived the PC people would use toggle switches for input and look at indicator lights to determine the output. Hey, I am having trouble compiling in netbeans. When I go to compile, I usually go to Run>Clean and Build Main Project (or shift F11). When it compilies, it says Copying 1 file to /Users/me/NetBeansProjects/JavaApplication11/build Nothing to copy. And when I go to run the .jar file, it doesn't open and says "The Java JAR file "JavaApplication11.jar" could not be launched." I set it as the main project and the program does have a package. Any ideas? I've never had this problem before. (I'm on a MacBook if that helps) Thanks in advance!

I disassembled an entire PC, motherboard,RAM,Hard Drive, etc, all taken out but the processor. I used an air compressor to take the dust off. After I was sure it was off, I used an electronic contact cleaner while holding the motherboard in a vertical position, spraying on it and waiting for the liquid to fall down. After that, I assembled it once again. Also, I used the air compressor to clean the power source. After it was all assembled, I tried turning the PC on....and it didn't. Now, this was an old PC, but it was functioning before I started. …

However when I switched on my PSU yesterday, the motherboard would not power up and there were no lights on it and no fans/drives were spinning. However after trying several more times the motherboard got power when the connector was half way in and when I pushed it fully in it still had power. The computer booted up and stayed on …
