Does your forum use reputation points? Karma? How does it work? Do you find it is helpful or just sparks unhealthy competition among members?

We now cache signatures, but it should have been cleared out. Chalk it up to a bug that will be fixed in the future ... Currently working on priming the new version of vBulletin to go live, so hold any thoughts for now.

I know that OptOnline definitely blocks port 80. I think they might block all http: server requests on all ports, but not exactly sure.

It is a custom-coded feature on DaniWeb. It cannot be accomplished via a template update alone. The easiest thing I could think of doing is creating an ICODE bbcode and use <span style="font-family:courier new, fixed"> as the opening tag and </span> as the closing tag.

I am hoping that they do something during the first week in April. I've already been hearing stories of deep spidering going on. Perhaps something will happen the 4th of the month - since that's when DaniWeb updated during the last update. Gee, do I miss the days of the …

Do you think that images should be allowed in forum signatures? What happens when too many members post huge images in their signatures?

While I wouldn't really consider myself a member of the blogosphere (I don't really visit any of the social news / bookmarking sites), I definitely think that social media sites have a big role in the world of Internet marketing and building website traffic. They are, after all, the driving …

We usually don't allow username changes as it just goes against the whole sense of community - afterall, we all know each other on here by our usernames. However, I do make exceptions if you provide me with a new username.

I've seen them rotated a couple of times with the other AdSense ads we have here. They really aren't that different from other image ads. They start as static images and just include little play buttons that the web surfer has to click on, so it's not as if they …

While I am close to being sold out selling banner inventory to my US visitors, my non-US traffic remains unmonetized. All of the big advertisers simply insist on geotargeting US and on the rare occasion, the UK. I can't even get anyone to look at my Canadian or Australian traffic, …

When the AdSense program first started, they went crazy filtering people out of the program for fraudulent clicks. It's lightened up a bit since, but it's still something they take very seriously. Usually, if they detect fraud clicks, they take no bullshit - you're out of the program for good. …

At your budget, AdWords is really your best option. You should note that AdWords DOES allow you to do banner advertising and they also allow you to run Site Targeted campaigns, where you can specify sites in the Google AdSense network to run on.
