the most simple thing to do is to block the domains by using the hosts file and making if only readable for the user but if the user accesses the website by IP that won't help. best way to go is to get a proper solution like websense

only way to recover anything from that is to take it to a disk recovery lab. they might be able to recover the files. however the disk itself is absolutely dead, and needs to be replaced

three years in Israel Defense Forces. Combat service, lots of action. was drafted as an 18 year old kid, came out an adult. not sorry for a second I spent in there - I was doing some REAL things, not just training.

Guys, isn't it time we started a new 2008-specific section? Also, how about some more specific things, like, for instance backup solutions - TBUs, Tape Libraries, Storage, BAckupExec, CommVault, Arcserve etc?

if you have a dhcp on the network, and it's a normal hard wired network, why not use it? managing lots of static IP addresses can be a strain

if those are brand name servers, the best way to go is to use their specific SNMP software. Dell provides ITAssistant and OpenManage for that. Another software to use is Nagios - free and very extensive
