basically the commands are: lsmod lspci lsusb dmesg cat /proc/scsi/scsi and quite a few others, all depends on the device in question

when you register, you should receive a serial number. but if you have a virtualization supporting CPU, you can use XEN, and leave vmware alone

no it makes sense. in apache there is a way to change the way the server treats file extensions. look for the line where in says .html, and add .htm to that

if you have linux at home, just install it from the repositories if you are unfortunate enough to run windows - get the xampp package

the best way to go is to set up a normal ftp server besides Apache. these things are to be used as intended. here is the description: http://incubator.apache.org/ftpserver/ since this is a java written thing, I wouldn't get near it for performance.

first of all, get a proper firewall and a front-end for exchange. with a good stateful-inspection enabled firewall like checkpoint NG1, most viruses will be stopped before they have a chance to attack your system. A spam/virus filtering front end for Exchange is the best way of not receiving mail …

do you always have it logged in under the same user? create a new user and try. if doesn't help, try to also reinstall the system completely

the scroll lock light is used in linux for indication of different keymaps being switched on, and can really be configured to do anything you want it to. must be a setting somewhere. I've never touched Mandriva though, so you'll have to google for it yourself

the simplest thing to do is to use logmein. but generally FTP is the way to go

easiest way to do that - use logmein.com to access your home PC remotely, and veiw the networked files from there.

adprep doesn't run properly because there is another exchange server on there already is it possible to backup the mail stores, remove the old exchange server and set the new one up, or do you actually need two separate exchange servers?

well, to install a new dell box, you need the Dell OS installation CD - it will guide you through installation and raid setup. without that you have to set up raid manually, and go through all the hassle of creating an F6 driver disk. as for the system installation, …

it all really depends on what you're doing with your PC. mine is core2duo 1.83, and it has trouble running as many VMs as I need at once. If I had a quad core, I'd be able do distribute CPUs in a more efficient way.

telnet should be enabled on the target host. if it is, just run "telnet targethost/targetIP" if you want to connect to a specific port, just add it's number after the targethost.

you can update the bios, connect the drive to another sata port, but first of all - back up all the data that's important to you.

before you format and reformat, does the system bios recognise the HDD as 132Gb, or as 500Gb? if it doesn't show 500, try to update the bios firmware on the motherboard
