sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

first of why would you wanna have 5 different web browsers, you just making things difficult for yourself.so Ill recommend using one or if you really need more than one for some reason than rather use two.
Anyway the error massage is screaming at misconfigured Internet options or tcp/ip settings,so yeah this means something is seems rite but is not

And as for SP3, if you're not into experimenting with OSs, then don't worry about that for now, just stick with the SP2 release.

Hi and welcome marek
I fully agree with Thinka in what his saying,it'd be wise thinking longterm. What his trying to say with the above quote is,that the same controversy there is between win xp and vista there is with sp2 and sp3

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

the other softies suggested is also very handy .
if you still have problems download combifix here
install on desktop and run it in safe mode. dont do anything when combifix is running, dont even move your mouse . when all is done post a log here

moerpheus commented: excellent +1
Thinka commented: Suggestion seemed to do just the job. Fantastic +4

Hi juniorette
unmountable_BOOT _Volume means
Your Hard Drive might be dead or corupted OS files, but lets determine that its dead, heres how:start laptop-> go into your BIOS(f2 or f12) as you mentioned. go into your first option and see if your laptop detects your hard drive.if you cant see it than your hard drive might be dead.so than its time for the tech guy to install a new one
---You did hear a grinding sound before your laptop died on you the first time right, thats your hard drive---
??

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

see if you can go in using safe mode if it still happens make sure you enough cooling on your cpu(you can actually feel your heat sink or processor to see how hot it gets)

??

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Shutting down after first reboot sounds like a memory-related problem. If you look at the list of approved memory vendors/models, you'll see that your particular model isn't on the list. I suggest that you exchange that RAM for one that is on the list as the permanent solution. For the time being you can down-clock your memory in BIOS and/or increase timings and voltage to gain stability.

...or try memory one/two at a time

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

a is the first letter, and z the last letter of the alphabet

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Run a registry doctor and regcure by slaving your drive in another machine

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

MECER.LOL

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

ohk,Im sure you know how to do that.
??

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

The problem:
I attempted to install windows on the sata drive, so i formatted it, it copies the files restarts, goes to the windows xp loading screen turns off.

...meaning that the operating system's install didnt complete Right?is this win xp youre trying to install?what is your memory size?
try another OS disk

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

! for sure a new machine will fix it !

But sooner or later he will still have to fix it though

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

when theres a problem...remember you the reason for the crap,so shut up and safe me!

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

what the hell why not post:I see caperjack is drawing closer to 7000 posts.

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Use Spybot SD to clean any malware!!!

IT's a great tool I use for my clients....

In my opinion Avast is great for home users as long as you are updated.

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Not sure if you have done it before, but login under your brothers name, and do a profile transfer over yours. This will allow you to keep your documents and such, but it will allow his settings to take over. Let me know if you need details!

This implies only if your brother's profile isnt corrupt as yours is

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

why dont you replace the config.sys on your HD by making it the secondary drive in another system

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

go into folder options and uncheck the following:
'hide extentions for known file types'
'hide protected operating system files'

and check the following:
'show hidden files and folders'

do this in safe mode and see if you can manually delete the virus file

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

thi one i belive is solved! score one for the dryvit! :)

LOL.LOL.LOL

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Your problem is most likely hardware related. so by removing the non essential parts and starting up,replace them one at a time you can easily find what part is causing it.special attention to your newly installed HD and DVD. format your new HD if you not booting from it. if you do boot from it run chkdsk

There was this couple who were running late preparing for the big party, and

it just so happened that the husband had on a pair of trousers that had a
buttoned fly, one button of which had come off and needed sewing.

The wife simply did not have the time to tend to it so she suggested he run
across the street to have her lady friend take care of the matter.

And so he did. A little bit later he came back with the button sewn on all
right, but he was terribly beaten up.

"Good grief! What in the world happened to you! You just went over there for

the button to be sewed on, and now look at you!"

"Well, when I told her what I wanted done she said to take a seat and that
it would just take her a second. So, I sat down and she began sewing on the
button. Everything was just going along just fine until she bent over to
bite off the thread and her husband came in the door."

Hi
I have a stunned problem with my company pc and would really appreciate any other suggestions. The computer I have is networked to exchange server and two other business related servers.Recently the user has started to complain about system freezes. So upon some research in I found a "bugcheck" complain that said that I should change the RAM cause theres faulty RAM(four slots, all occupied) So I took out the RAM replaced it with other sticks witch I know is working. Its better now but still hangs so now and again(not as much as it used to though).

Is this still RAM related?if so what can I try next or does the problem reside somewhere else.

Thanks Guys

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Yeah that will fix it.almost sure

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Good startegy ill suggest you continue with it. but do make sure that theres enough cooling on your cpu.

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

hi
you can take your daughters cmos put it in your machine(just for testing).by starting your pc back up load cmos defaults and see how it behaves

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

make sure your graphical componants and rem is inserted correct
[its wise to remove all parts and insert then all again]

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Hey there
You should Swop out your buddy's cmos with a know good one

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Hey there
you should try a registry repair

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

but if it was the cpu overheating in someway it would simply restart or power down.

A computer freeze can also result in cpu over heat.
swapping out RAM is still strategy, but do pay attention to overheating as well

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

ohk good luck then

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

what ive heard a little about is, hackers using viruses as their tool. Mostly things like a keylogger for password steals or there have been viruses that can be controlled to a certain extent wich can allow the user of them to disable the keyboard, or make the screen go blank, or make things pop up on a persons screen remotely. As well as messing around with key system files.

Danniboy.

yeah but thats probably the one that you rather wanna be stuck with that to have someone physically accessing your server/machine live

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

like I said ram is one of the most sensitive parts inside your pc.circuits easily goes bad or they can easily pop without the user doing anything wrong and only realizing it afterwards

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

luckily for you

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Hibernation and standby are in the power options not the monitor options , power options are in the desktop properties ,under screen savers

ohk yeah off course, thanks for correcting me there

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

one beep is normal,so by changing ram might set you free.if you can get someones ram just for testing before buying your own that would be good strategy.
??

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

test the HDD in another machine.if that fails try another graphics card.should work

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Unfortunately not.I have a bunch of bugged ram in my section that im yet to throw away

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

check in your monitor options to see if hibernation is enabled or standby.if so disable it

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

your cpu might be overheating so check that it has enough cooling by checking your internal fans

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

It sounds like driver problem drivers might be corrupted.but you can check for a virus scan by plugging your HDD in another machine as secondary and do a scan
??

sittas87 91 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

does your monitor only display video but dies when you wanna go into safe mode
??
