Yes but you need to install Vista SP1, then Visual Studio 2005 SP1, then check for windiows updates. Windows will find a fix to enable it to work. remember to run VS as administrator. (right click it)

Yup, AD is right. Windows development in C++ basically means learning the fundementals, then learning an API like Win32, MFC etc.... I go for option C, learn C++ then learn the windows API.

Go for vista. XP will be dead soon. Vista has better hardware support, looks nicer, and once you get past the learning curve, its pretty handy.

A) for games an AGP 6200 is pretty useless but for general stuff its okay B) Celerons are very poor. They have very little cache memory. To a certain extent, the cache is more important than the clockspeed. C) Its probably just full of junk, reinstall?
