I'm wondering if Adobe has a feature where you can take away the print option from File>PRINT the print is grayed out.

if you mean adobe reader ,i dough it ,if you mean a full version of adobe writer ,i think it has features to used to prevent the file from being printed and edited by others when the file is being created !!

did it allow you to do check this setting .!!
==================
1. Insert the BartPE CD into the drive, and boot the system from the CD. Once the file loading phase is over, the Bart PE desktop will be visible, as shown in Figure 1.
2. Type Regedit.exe in the prompt, and press Enter. Select the HKEY_USERS hive
3. From the File menu, choose the Load Hive option. Browse to your Windows installation drive, for example the following location:

C:\Windows\System32\Config\

4. Select the file named SOFTWARE (the file without any extensions), and click Open
5. Type a name for the hive that you've loaded now. (Example: MyXPHive)
6. Now the SOFTWARE hive is loaded, and present under the HKEY_USERS base hive.
7. In order to fix the Userinit value in the loaded hive, navigate to the following location:

HKEY_USERS \ MyXPHive \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Winlogon

8. Double-click Userinit and set it's value correctly. Example: Set it's data as follows:

C:\Windows\System32\Userinit.exe,

(Include the trailing comma also. The above assumes that Windows is installed in C:\Windows, and Userinit.exe file is actually present in the System32 folder. You may want to verify that as well.)

9. After entering the correct data, you MUST unload the Hive. To do so, select MyXPHive branch, and then in the File menu, choose Unload Hive. It's important to note that you'll need to select the MyXPHive branch first, …

I actually have a good number more of these... all identical. I need to actually find a system to install them in and see what they come up as....

So you think they might be a prototype?

just a thought ,as when you search the numbers you posted ,most if not all results are of this thread!

Hmm... Unless something was fried by the heat.

could be ! actually you don't need to take it apart ,buy a can of compressed air and blow it out from the outside

caperjack 875 I hate 20 Questions Team Colleague

i have been working on computers for 9 yrs now ,i don't own a wrist strap and have never fried a stick of ram or a motherboard by not wearing one .unplug power source ,hold down power button and , as long as you ground yourself to the metal case first ,by just simply grabbing the side of the case you should be alright.
=
when you opened the box to check the ram did you take it out ,if yest take it out again and replace it like jbennet said ,also check to make sure you didn't knock any wires /cables loose, especially the front panel connection

caperjack 875 I hate 20 Questions Team Colleague

how about over heating ,have you had it cleaned of dust and dirt in the heatsinc and fans,it doesn't take much dust to cause it to over heat

as long as its not the via chipset ,then you would need the Via ac97 drivers ,also could have been ac97 highDefinition 5.1/7.1 drivers needed !with out the MB name its only guessing !

caperjack 875 I hate 20 Questions Team Colleague

Are there people who can sort that kind of thing at all?

its possiably just broke ,wore out no way of fixing ,but its also possible that one or more of the 4 connection to the MainBoard is broke away from the MB,if you can take it apart to check if solder is broken ,i have a usb wireless device that is broke away and i took it apart to solder the joint again !now it works

caperjack 875 I hate 20 Questions Team Colleague

according to this sites info you board only supports up to 333 ram , 333 translates to pc2700,so the pc3200 will only run at pc2700's speed , what does bios screen show if you install one of the 1 gig sticks

http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d845gvsr/sb/cs-008824.htm

also try this program to check ram ,it will show the ram in each slot and what speed it reads at .

Im having the same problem, and tried 3 different dvd drives... all fail to be recognized by XP.
Tell me ig you find a solution.

Possible Solution......go to Start /run/ type in ,regedit.and do the following, go to file and backup registry first before changing

There are 2 reg keys that can screw the device......remove them both and reboot......

The keys are:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325 -11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} - "Upperfilters" and "Lowerfilters".

Another option is using data recovery style programs if you don't want to physically remove the drives. I use Selkie Rescue (http://selkierescue.com) personally. It doesn't matter if windows is working or not and will connect through a network or cross-over cable.

good idea im sure ,but there was no mention of looking to recover data ,just swapping drives .

also just like to say it might work as i suggested but if you bsod is caused by bad ram there would be no point in changing drives

I have had the same issue before. Its something to do with the registry.

and this is the reg fix need ,it may or may not be the fix!!!
--------
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Possible Solution......go to Start /run/ type in ,regedit.and do the following

There are 2 reg keys that can screw the device......remove them both and reboot......

The keys are:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325 -11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} - "Upperfilters" and "Lowerfilters".

don't have a fix for this but do have a comment as usuall!
this on kellys corner and other links here and within kellys corner "restarts at the Welcome screen" are referring to when you actually click on a user name at the welcome screen to enter and then the computer reboots ,
and the links to post by Yzowl: cure didn't actually didn't fix the problem for those who tried it

So the post here do you get to click on a username at the welcome screen !!?????????????
