Hi netvani, welcome to daniweb. Read the forum rules first. You are not suppose to post your own website link in your signature.

This is a networking problem.

What router are you using? If you have using a Linksy router, go to the back of the router and hold down the reset button for 5 seconds.

1) Make sure your firewall is turn off
2) Do a ping test
3) See how many packets are received and sent per second.
4) Can other computers or laptops connect to the laptop?

You cam use Microsoft Security Essentials or Panda Cloud AntiVirus. Have you tried online armour firewall?

Can you scan the hard disk with malware bytes?

Who owns the router? Do you have a modem when playing as well? Who is connected to the router when you guys play the game? Try using a different OS.

I stop using avast a few weeks ago and switch to panda cloud antivirus. But when i use avast before, it did not slow down my game. I am still to play without lag. You can try disabling avast first and see whether the problem occur. How many antivirus software you have? How many security software you have?

For firewall you can try Online Armour. I don't use firewall on my windows laptop because i use the built in firewall provided by microsoft and the anti virus firewall but i will help you search for free firewall.

That is a nice thinking but are you a PS3 fan? Because i would prefer Xbox controller over PS3 controller.

Just to echo with most other posters here. Cookies are pretty harmless, they just stored your web browser information. Mostly use to track the web pages you visited. So perfectly harmless. I won't be surprise if your anti virus software detected them everyday, unless you clear your browser data.

As you have said you can try uninstalling Avast first and see whether that cure your problem.

Your last sentence is true.
Avast are known to have conflicts with ZoneAlarm Firewall. See this. Many people around the world have problem with their computers or laptop when Avast and ZoneAlarm are together. I don't use ZoneAlarm firewall because i don't find it very good.

I would like to think that I am good at my job but I am a world away from the level of technical knowledge a lot of people here have. I find it really interesting to read though and I am so glad sites like this exist so I can learn from you all.

So when his laptop overheats and crash, the network crash. thus you guys cannot play games and cannot access the internet as well right? Ask him to try connecting to the router using an ethernet cable and see whether the problem occurs.

What is your Ram? 4GB or 8GB? What is your CPU usage? I doubt the ram will cause the problem unless is so high that your laptop cannot take it. Do a scan using Malware bytes to check whether it is a malware problem or not.

You said you bought it from Ebay, try contacting the person who sold you the laptop. Maybe he has experience this problem before. If he experience the same problem as you before, he might have sold the computer to you because he cannot solve the problem himself too. In that case, you might have been cheated because he sold you a computer that cannot work.

Lenovo is very famous. HP is famous not because of their computers alone, it is because of other products like printers and others. That is what made HP famous, Lenovo is already famous by creating laptops. You can say Lenovo is on par with HP.

The main thing is to contribute good quality postings, ask interesting and relevant questions and answer threads where you know the answer. Aside from that, tell your friends/colleagues about DaniWeb and encourage them to do the same.

When did this happen. Did it happen right after you do a system restore? Backup your data on an external hard diks and try reformatting it. You might want to back up your web browser bookmarks as well.

Over the few weeks, i realize that less member are joining daniweb each day. In the past it use to be a few hundred a day not it can be so devastating that only 48 members join daily. Is there other ways to help boost daniweb traffic besides linking your daniweb account to your blog. What happens if your blog is not very popular. After the Google Panda update, it seems like daniweb is not recovering. Or it is but at a slow scale?:?:

Besides frequenting daniweb more often and posting more. Is there other ways to help Dani boost daniweb popularity? I have been here for quite some time and feels like it is time i start to contribute to daniweb. Any idea would be appreciated?

I got the opportunity of discussing this problem with a qualified electrical engineer specializing in computers as well. He advised me to change the Battey of the computer. I checked the battery and found it was flat. When I changed the battery the computer became perfectly ok.

How about your first problem. Did you solved it? For the second part of the question about the FP3D softawre, can it work on Windows Xp now. Forget about working on Windows 7 first, we must get it to work on other older version of OS first. Tell me can it work on Windows Xp on another laptop if you have one.

Your problem can be a virus or your hard disk is going to crash. Some corrupted files may have caused this or you could have accidentally drop your hard disk. Try plugging the hard disk to various computers or laptops and see whether they can read your hard disk. If they can read your hard disk make sure they do not prompt you to reformat. If they never ask you to do so, you can retrieve the data first before reformat. Or you can reformat lightly meaning reformat your disk less than 2 times. This make it having a higher chance to recover your data.

One of the hackers was arrested.

1) Did you select the correct OS. There are different softwares for different OS.

2) I went to the site and found this. It seems like it only works on Windows Vista and cannot work on Win 7. I am not too sure about that.
