when windows run an update if it does not see the txt log it will do the update again, noting that will affect your pc operation. it should also be on the master drive on the slave u can definately delete it.
if this is a built in wireless cadr. verify that it is turned on, then go to control panel> network and internet. it should be listed as a wireless connection. if u are not seeing it there. then the drivers are not installed. get the drivers installed, u can also go to control panel>systems>device manager and look under the group for network adapters you should have at least 2 the realtek, which is the Lan card and one for the wireless. if only the realtek is listed the drivers for the wireless is missing and would be under a list that says Other devices with a yellow question sign.
enable the realtek and use the wired connection to get onlione to download the drivers for the wireless card. Youcan locate the drivers at the PC manufacturer web sites.
did u spill any thing on the keyboard? verify each key to ensure none of them is stuck, also do a visual inspection if there are any object under the keys. failing that get a can of compress air and blow out the key board, there are a few panels you can remove to get to the bottom of the key board, if u are not comfiortable doing this get a pro to assist. it might also be condensation build up under the key board. if u can mouse you way to the control panel and set the keyboard to default.
if this is a new HDD u might want to use the HDD cd to set it up first. then do as caperjack say to install the sata drivers. you should be able to create those from the cd that came with the HDD
on your h drive, which i assuned is the slave.???? right the easiest way is like you said file new folder or u can creat from a DOS prompt. or from within a program. the directory with the loong number text is from runnig certain updates from microsoft. it can be deleted. the only purpose of it is to creat a log/time stramp of the opdate that was run. some time windows will not allow you to delete it. but if u can it will cause not adverse effect on your PC.
accordint to this its pointing to the wrong directory, do a search for the pst file then copy it back to the outlook directory, you can find the correct directory by going to control panel>mail and look at the default mail directory
do u have a firewall/internetsecurity suite running on your pc. it might have block the wage base on the key work illicit chack that program and let it give access to the page
ok if u get 2 choices as operating system when you start the pc
1 the hdd was not formated properly. this mean you are just using a partition on the hdd for the operating system you just installed.
2 the new operting system reciognized the devices attached, but they need drivers.
3 your printer was not recognized becaused the usb port is probable disable in the bios. (were these on the front or rear of the pc)
resolutions
run fdisk on the hdd look at the partitions, delete the partitions to make them one. reinstall xp. enable the usb hubs fron the bios. install drivers for all items that are listed under device manager.
let us know how this pan out
thats an option that would not work as he cannot boot into any mode if fix boot or MBR does not work he would definately have to do a clean install
suspishio is correct, and to add if it's a OEM cd it might not even boot in anoy other pc. as for the activation you cant get around it activation is not just registering the product key, certain hardware information is snet with the key and lock on the activation server. there fore using it in another pc will not work but if you do a clean install of the original pc it would work becaues that hardware id match to the product key.
have you tried restoring the the power management to default and give it a try. also check on the policy setting if this is turned off.
is this the only web site u cannot access
Xp by default load the admin account one time. unless you creat your own unattended install and set the admin account to always load. to get the original admin account back you have to start in safe mode, check under user account to make sure that there is another admin account, then copy any files you need from the original admin account to another directory when you restart it will be gone again.
did u creat an account on this other pc or r u logging on with a limited/restricted user account. log on as admin, and try accessing the drive, if u can see other files and folder it because u encrypt and password protect the files/folder when you were able to log in........ once you create or log on as admin enable file and priter sharing with this external drive attached.
try the repair option as suspiso stated, it does not mean you have to wipe your hdd. try these repair option in this order chkdsk /f then fixboot or fixmbr restart after each to chek if they fix the problem..... if non of those work u will have to think about putting the hdd in another pc and backing up your files. because the next step would be a clean install.
how are u connecting, wireless or wired
go to control panel>network and internet>network and sharing, turn on network discovery, then (on the left) click on manage my network, under lan or high speed if u are connecting by ethernet connection(wired) right click on local area connection choose properties the box that opns up look for internet protocol V4 tcp/ip, double click it, the box that come up have 2 option at the top 2 at the botton put a dot beside obtain IP address automaticalll and obtain DNS server address automatically. click on, then ok again. try connecting to the internet.
If wireless you have to know the name of your network and if it uses a wep key to access here are the steps
click start > connect to the box that comes up have 2 lines at the bottom select the first oen that says " setup or connect to a network" the next box that comes up select " manualyy connect to a wireless network" the next box that comes up enter your network name( the name of your wireless network) then enter the security type (most likely wep) then skip over tkip and enter the security key/pass Phrase. then next then connect to.
base on the original error message you posted this should not prevent you from connecting. that has to deal with a software installed on the pc.
see if u can turn off all the addins for IE, this some times happen when it try to load the addins,
the operating system is this a windows vista or xp or a macintosh os 10 or 9
what os are u connecting this external HDD to????
i can access the web site, do the following steps,
1: remove the power from the moden and the router. keep off for 20 seconds.
2: reconnect the power to the modem , let it fully power up ( about 1 minutes)
3: then power up the router, wait 1 minutes.
4: try access the web site.
let me know how that work and tell me what OS you are using
what is the name of the web site ( i can try it from my end) what type of connection are you using, broad band, dsl or dialup. if broadband are you directly connect to your modem (ethernet or usb cable) or u have a router connecter between the modem and the pc and if dsl the same, tell me....

this is not about chopping off hands, my point was directed to how money can be channeled to other cause, instead of invading other country and send young people to die we should be useing that money to fix the border to stop the flooding of immigrants, that thne come here to suck the resourses that needed kinds and resident of this country need
if you would tell us what's happening we would be able to help.what is the error you are getting
both are not pointing to the same page, what comes after Http:// for each page, replace those page with your own and give it a try.
RUN IT'S A BOMB lol..... power down the pc remove the power supply clean the fan, remove any build of dust, do this when it cools down. when you reconnect ensure the connections are tight. you could very well be looking at getting a new power supply. if the HDD is demanding more that the PSU can give to it and the other devices.
check in iis properties to make sure it's pointing to the correct page, and also check the setting in business object to link to same page, i am at work now and i dont remeber how to walk you throught the steps but we had this same issue in class and we had to change some setting on the IIS properties
have u saerch the windows KB to see if there is a solution. is this a forbidden, page not found or file not found error.
if u have the xp cd (bootable) try fixing the boot record ( doubt thats it) but worth a try to at least get u into the system , if even by safe mode.
if u cannot reboot in either safe or normal mode u would have to do a clean install or use restore cd. do u have a winXP cd or restore cd that came with your pc.
Is there a way or is there a utility CD that can scan your HDD for Spyware/Adware and nasties when you pc cannot boot up. This is like scanning for virus from a bootable cd. Can you point me to a web site or a software that can do this from a cd or dvd.
seems like a trojan problem. as for the quick blue screen, it's because your pc is set to restart when it crash this can be turned off.
When he clicks on the file, instead of the shared file, the new Money program opens ready to set up. Why isn't he able to see the shared file???
once you install the program on his pc, click on open to access the file, and broswe to the shared folder on your pc, if that does not work try accessing the folder throught windows explorer if he can access the file, there might be an issue with money 99. i am not sure what the above quote means
the best solution would be to have stronger border patrol insted of putting up fence and wall, creat a mile long and 10 feet high stretch from the border inland of razor wires and spikes. while in the middle of that you have 3 inch thick cast iron sheets going at least 20 feet deep to prevent tunneling......now if any one get around that say by sea, dont bring to usa for processing, take them back to where they came from immediately. they should only be processed if a chip is going to be implanted in them that would send off an alarm so they can be caught before entering the usa.
this can be acheive by stop wasting money on senseless wars and trying to run other countires, why should it be our problem if sadam or any dictator want to chop off the hand of some one in his country that steal. we waste money on thoise thing ayet we have citizen here who can't get medical, who are starving and uneducated.
port 80 is what you internet connection is transmitted on, this port is dedicated to internet protocol, however, when you visit a secire web site like a bank that information is transmitted on a different port. which is port 443 you can change this as it range from 1- 65535, different internet base program use different ports. your email program for example use different ports too.
take a look here and get a broad knowledge of the different ports and what protocol is transmitted on each.

i have seem so many people used can air wreak havoc on there pc it's not funny. did any of the liquid spray out while you were using the can? as for the error you are having it would seem like there was an update to the bios that the pc is not recognizing, did u change any thing in the bios?
sound like a CPU issue. open the case and check the cpu fan, verify that the fan turns on when you power up the pc.
the bios screen is the first screen u see when you turn on your pc, at the top left you will see the name of the bios manufacturer. this is the POST screen, where the bios check certain hardware on the computer, the only other screen you can see before the bios screen is is a splash screen that show the manufacturer of the mother board.
anti spam and adware are two different things. run the spybot
burning burning the iso on cd would mean splitting the file to fit on cd. i am assuming that the file is bigger than a cd, u can use a file splitter brogram to acheive this. but i suggest that u get the dvd drive first, burn the image then u can clean the hdd and reinstall vista.
and did u install some power monitoring program on the pc.
and this vista setup u have is it a iso file. and is it bootable.
if u are getting a soft 32 message and a prompt to scan to fix the proble i suspect you do have a trojan. get help NOW
Office 2007 is more focus on security and business conferencing sharing documents over the internet, hence the extra security in a leterr added on the file extentions. Now if there is nothing else make the post as SOLVED
the current pc cannot burn dvd;s???
the reason they could not open your CV is because 1 2007 saved files as docx, earlier version cant open unless they install a patch, the next thing is the font u used, some fonts are new in 2007, not recognized in earliear version, as for uninstalling addremove would have done the job, if u ever decice to use 2007 again set the default file save as ext to be doc and the same for excel.
if your mobo stop working how can u conn a external hdd, the connection is throught the mobo, right???? is this on a diff pc,
see u missing the point, all i am trying to get throught to u is to give the new registered the option to see solved threads in each forum before they come to the forum and post the same thing that has been solved.
eg i come to daniwed and i want answer before i can post i have to register, before the registrations is completed i am shown 2 main thing, rules of engagement( i know thats not it, it just sound sweet) and chekc her before you post.
it's late thats y u are confused, give it time it will sink in, if each new user come to the site is directed to a section that show all community with solved threads we would not ahve the repitions in the forum, just like a knowledge base, for eg u go to dell to get help on a pc u select your make and model, then you sellect what category of help u want, u gettting the pic my queen,
