the power connection should only be connected one way positive + to positive + pole and negative - to negative - pole. turning them around with short your mother board. the manual that came with you mother board should give you an indication of the polarity of the connections. if you do no have a manual give us the model of the mother board we will help you search. or you can Google it or on the manufacturer web site.
as for the main power connection to the mother board from the power supply that can only go in one way

Greetings,

I need to know if it matters what prongs the power cables go on
when I am hooking up my Case to my Motherboard. YES IT DOES MATTER

I have looked for some kind of identification number on my
motherboard, all I do know is it is an AGP motherboard.

The cables used for the power button/reset button are not connected as
I have recently disassembled my entire computer to do single-component testing
inorder to deduce my previous issue, which I did figure out.

However i did not take notes in regards as to what order my cables were hooked
up in. A mistake on my part, however that is why forums like these exist...

Some help will be very much so appreciated. Thank you.

because the cone of the speaker vibrate depending on the about of wattage that is applied to the coil that surrounds a magnet. this displaced air help the speaker to perform better. if the Air hole was blocked the sound would be distorted and can tear the rib of the speaker cone (Rib is the flexible material that attached the cone to the frame of the speaker.)

intermittent load can be either the CPU or the hard drive going bad most likely the hard drive. you want to run a disk utility to test your hard drive.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

an assumption was made by Bobbyraw, and the same as the one I made I think ,the poster meant downgraded after it was installed on the computer .Im also assuming you mean something different ,like a license downgrade .

thanks for clearing that up caperjack, thats exactly what i was reffering to.
Downgrade in terms of cleaning XP and installing NT YES that can be done, Downgrade in terms of changing the XP key or running a program in XP to downgrade to NT not possible. in this case if UPGRADE from NT to XP was done YES you can downgrade back to NT (if the files were saved)

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

why did you have to do a smart recovery?
I don't believe that the recovery has any thing to do with the bootup problem. the fact that you can power down and then able to load point to either power supply, CPU or mother board. the power supply might be dying and cannot power the system effectively, the CPU maybe overheating, check for dust and if the fan attached works.

i am assuming the speed stram is the device/ modem that brings the internet to you.
IF so power down the modem, power down the router, wait 3 min power up the modem, connect the ethernet cable from the modem to the router. power up the router. connect any etehrnet cable from the router to any PC that requires a wired connection. on your wireless pc c go to network connection, look for your wireless device enable if it has a red X ( right click and choose enable) then right click again and select view available wireless connection.
connect to you wireless network, if you had set encryption you will need to know the pass code ( if this is not the first time connecting wireless with the PC it will remember the pass code.)

maybe it's not the power supply but the configuration of the power panel on the mother board. are you certain that the connection are in the correct place, positive to + and negative to -, does the power connection to the mother board fits correctly and not crossed.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

sounds like a Mother board dying. or a power supply. when ever you see power on the pc yet the monitor read no signal this mostly points to a deficient power supply as well as a mother board dying.

to test remove all extra part, Video card, and external cards, additional hard drive ( like slave drive, if the board have a onboard video use that and remove the pci video card. this will give you an indication if the power is sufficient. if you still get the same problem then its the board.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

just to be certain check the connectio as most person have suggested. and you might want to look into the overheating problem. dont just rule it out without further investigation.

PS when you reinstall windows did you do a standard format or a quick format.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

if you have 2 hard drive, i suggest you remove the slave drive and use just your mast to boot the PC. set the master drive with the correct jumper setting. once you boot you you can then add back the slave drive

PS: did you have an installation of vista in the second drive?

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

run the internet connection wizard to the end just select the defaults then try to install again. you might want to give your pC a scan for bad stuff.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

First are you using the correct drivers. go to the system properties and look if the sound device has a red X or yellow question mark or yellow dot with black exclamation mark ! if any of these condition exist, fix then got to the next step below

go into control panel go to sound and audio then sound tab and ensure that the correct sound devices is selected as the playback device. then go to the voice tab and test the hardware.

I don't want to sound sarcastic but who said because its from a well know source it's a good email. it could be a worm that sent the emails from the well known source. do you have any antivirus installed on the PC. If not get Avast it comes with an email scanner. Scan your PC for possible threats.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

How many ports do you have on the switch. make and model

basically you connect the modem to one of the port on the switch then connect you ethernet cable to the switch. i had a similar connection but gave it up because it was so hard to configure.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Step 1: restart the pc then install the patch
Step 2: if you still get the error bring up task manager and kill the service that SP4 is reporting thats running.
the upgrade Cd will not do a full install of windows 2000. you will need a full version.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

ok try this, hit start, run type msconfig, look at the things that are starting when you turn the pc on, you can remove the check mark from the ones you don't want to run.

I hope you were using the latest updates to the spyware program, it is very unlike ly a that there is a ps out there would turn up clean from a spybot S&D scan. at least a cookie would be found unless you have deleted them before the scan. and if those still don't turn up anything it does not mean you are clean. try this program Combofix
and follow the instruction to the letter.

you are not going to find a program to DELETE a process unless it's a malware or virus of sorts. the program i list above is good at doing that. you can also use cclean to kill process

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

when you install the programs go to the each user account and any icon associated with your programs. then go to the default user folder and remove what ever you don't want other others to have.
next time you are installing a program use custom setting and IF you get the option to install for other user choose just me.

do you have 64bit processor. base on your specs it does not seem that you have one. 64bit will only install on a 64bit processor
