seem to me like a bad processor, Most likely overheating, or just plain dying. shut down and check heatsink grease, and heat on processor, if it's hot where you have to pull you have away very fast, there lies your culprit.

try using the maxtor cd that come wioth the drive, ( can also be down load and burn to cd) use it to check the drive, if the drive heads are damaged, (Which can happen in the DOA wipe) then you would not abe able to use the drives.

Also what jumper setting are you using for the drives, Single, Master, master with slave, Cap limit, Cable select

i am assuming you have windows XP installed, Correct? put the Xp cd in the pc set you bios to boot from the cd first. when you get tot he screeen to repair windows choose r, windows will delete some files then reinstall critical system files. reastrt you shold be back into windows.

acronis is another program or partition commander.

Highly unlikely, there are other programs that can be ued to edit the registry, but nothing i am aware of that can open it witht eh same view as regedit

show me an example of what you are trying to acheive. i am using office 2007 and i can type in any date in any formay eg: if i want to type december 4, 1600 it come out just as that 04/12/1600 or with the dash same thing. i beleive you have to update excel wite the date patch,

i purchased norton ghost 10 a couple of days ago. The softwares workin fine but accidently i broke the installation cd that had the recovery environment.

Is there any way to create a duplicate cd of the same.

you can run the program and create a set of restore disk ( they will only allow you to boot the PC to a DOS environment) if the actual Installation Cd was broken you have to get a replacement

where did you creat the back up? was it a clone backup of the image of the HDD? is it on a separate HDD? if its a image boot from the CD and follow the prompt restore the HDD, all you need to so is point the resotore to where the back up image is stored. if it's a cloned all you have to do is set the clone HDD as the master and boot from it.

open the common directory you need the file copied to, chack if the file being copied is already listed, if it is rename it( change the extention of the file name. Them check on the nrton cd for the same file, copy to the directy, after you copy it find the file right click and choose properties, check to make it read only. then try running the the installation again.

did you install office 2003 from a CD?, did you get it preinstalled on your PC?, do you have the install CD?, what opearting system are you using? ( Windows 2000, ME, XP) you cannot download the Pro11.MSI that's the installation package for office 2003. you would need to have the cd used to install office 2003

what type of power supply you have in the PC. seem like you are very low on wattage to run the system. this is the most obvious step you need to take , so tell us what is the power rating on your power supply.

i have the same mobo with the wirless edition, never had a problem installing, but base on what you stated it must be the momory, also it is recommeded that you install fro the A1 slots first, if you are using only one pair or a single memory stick.

try disabling DHCP on your router, using it as an access point, this way you have access through her router foa all service, However, you might experience down time and drop connection for your server.

how far from the router is this wireless connection?
does the drop connection only happens when you are watching video, or all internet activity.
can you change the channel the rout is one
have you tried restting the rout sing getting the new wireless adapter?

can the other computer see the Xp Home PC, can the XP Home PC get to the network ( see the other computer) can it connect to the internet (there is internet right????)

to be a bit specific, is it only the printer you cannot connect to on the XP Home PC.

check the protocol that are used on the XP Pro PC, make sue the same thing match up with the home, did you run the network wizard on the XP Home PC, ensure that the firewall setting on the XP Home PC Exception tab is check for file and printer sharing (network wizard would enable this by default)

do a search for the file, if is shows up in another directory other than what you are tying to delete delete the other first, look if it is runnig as a process/service. stop it and try to delete disable User access control on the pc then try to deleted

did you run this command on all the PC's

are you using one cd to install on all the pc

did you get the same error on all after the command? i suggest your reinstall on one pc then if the update works, then export the reg key to all the other and export them into the reg, i would also try resetting the router and disable the firewall.

has anyone in the company set up mail forwarding, for their account this can be a real bummer, by this i mean say i have an email yout your company, but i want to get my mails when i am at home ( you presently dont have web access) i would set my person email to grab mails from your server so i can access them through my personal mails when i am at home

any way, i beleive a colabaration server is the same thing as a shared work space, basically it allows user to connect and share data, edit files and conference/IM at the same time, in real time, Adobe pro V8 and Microsoft office 2007 have simular features. but i suggest you do a simple file sharing on a file server give each user full acces to the file in a particular directory say workspace. As for each pc and securing other files, this can be done by simple running file and printer sharing wizard and choose the option to make user files secure, ( as long as the root directory is not shared). let us know what is the outcome

How are you connecting these laptop, is it wireless/wired, are you using a router?
as denisoxon said home edition will give some problem to network, but answer the questions above then we can assist further

I want to know the best solution for the following problem.
I have free internet access included in my rent but I also have file server (synology DS06) with ethernet access (connected to my router) and a wireless HP printer/scanner (PSC 2710) also connected to my own router.
Problem now is that I have to switch wireless network when I want to access my files or print something. This works but is a bit annoying.....

Microsoft's VirtualWiFi could not solve the problem since my landlady is using WEP.

I see a couple of oportunities:
1) Create a keyboard shortcut for switching network. (Is this possible?)
2) Buy a bridge device and connect it to my 3com wireless router. (Would this work and in that case can someone recommend a god piece of hardware?)
3) Find another program similar to VirtualWiFi that can handle WEP. (Does it exist?)
4) Buy another WiFi card for all my laptops and have them connect to different networks. (Would that work?)
5) Connect the wireless printer to the landlady's network. (I guess this means that anyone can access it so I am not the found of this solution)

Any other suggestions are more than welcome!

this should have been marke solved a long time ago, It was the HDD that was the problem, i ran HDD regenerator on it and the starting head were really damage, trashed it and got and new one also i did an upgrade of the PC, Moboard, HDD, Processor, and Memory

Thanks caperjack i think i will give that a Ultimate Boot cd a try

I was eventully able to scan all my files with panda, then i was able to do a repair and boot to safe mode. after that i was able to run NOAdware online scan, this help to remove all the trojans, i was then able to reinstall mcafee and did a ful scan nothing was turned up in the scan. i was happy

NB during this process i had no problem starting my PC, just starting in safe mode, which the scan fixed.

Another note

i still did a clean install (wanted to use a different version of XP = Medica Center) after all of this but the help i got was excellent.

i beleive this is possible, one of two ways, use go to my pc, or set up the router with port forwarding and remote access using HTTP check the router config if this can be dont if not use go to my pc and access your pc as you would then you would ahve access to the file on the drive

Ok this is a first, i have Mcafee Enterprise edition with the firewall and Antispyware installed on the PC = XP Corp SP2, 250 Sata=(Bootable drive) HDD, 320G IDE, 2G RAM. my sun had a freind laptop connected to my Router (wired) i decide to share some files with him ( Music and videos for the ITouch) as soon as i did the share on his computer, i restart my PC, the entire Mcafee suite did not load(no icons in Task Area) so i restart again thinking the pc hang up, still not load, tried to do a repair install, got error message that i have no access to Mcshield.exe, tried to uninstall got he same message, I now suspect a nasties. so i tried to scan with adaware got error message, that i have no access to to a file that was not even on the the pc in the adaware directories, i LOL tried to install Symanted corporate editionm got error i have not access to a file in the symantec directori SND**.EXE not this tile IE start to run real slow, did a search for the error on symantec and it staes that i either dont have permission or there is a virus already on the PC. so i treid AVG and go this error Local machine: installation failed

you might not be able to fix it unless you are very skill with soldering and you have the broken pin, i suggest you got for a DVI/VGA adapter. if you apply heat to the card who kow hat else might not work

your start up program is reffering to a file it cannot find, maybe you delete some thing from the PC, it could also be a spyware/malware on your pc, causing this problem. to get rid og the error message, follow these steps.
Click Start, >run, type msconfig in the box hit enter, when system confiuration utility comes up click on the startup tab, look in the list for location C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1\BAR\2.BIN\mwsbar.dll, remove the check mark beside it. then click apply then ok, you will be ask you to restart the pc, you can restart immediately or continue to work on the pc until you are ready to restart. i alos suggest you download and run Spybot Search and Destroy or adaware to scan for malware /spyware on your pc

if non of the suggestions does not work and you can spring for a new MAC or PC go for it.repairing/replacing would be just as expensive as getting a new PC.

also check the server infor, if out look is set to send and receive when it start and the server info is not correct you will get that yellow icon, check with your ISP if they are having a problem

first, so AS caperjack stated, and to second what he said, you are truely luck to have an Emachine work that long, they usually crap out manily due to moborad, or power supply, and it's usually aroung 2-3 years that this happen.

so you have five items connected, you will not be able to connect another device, any combination of wired and wireless totalling 5 is the limit. what is the brand of the router, i doubt you can config it to be a repeater, you could connect it and try the configuration page througt the internet but i doubt it very much.

you dont need software to connect the external drive via USB, connect the drive, then power on the external drive

Sorry you need to provide a bit more info, what operating system, laptop of desktop, can you start the computer, what happen when you connect the usb cable, did you turn the camera on, what disk did you put in the computer, what were you expecting to happen, is this the camera software disk or the windows xp cd,

is this on the motherboard?
here is a suggestion, get a nail ( very small headless) cut to a size a little taller than the pin, and make sure it can fit snugg, the connect the monitor cable, works for me before until i had to get a new video card

borrow one, buy one, get one some how, there is not way to repair windows with out the cd,

if you have the install cd for XP you definately need to repair the windows installation. or a clean install, if you cannot start in safe mode you windows installation is VERY corrupt, probably very bad, only a clean install will fix that.

are you able to see anything on the monitor connected to the pci card?
is the pci slot enable in the bios,
do you have an onboard vga slot on the mobo
i suggest you shut down and remove the card, then resatr go in the bios, enable the pci slots, when windows start look if it show in device manager. then shut down and insert the card then start up windows again
