Re: You can simply install a Wireless access point into one of the switch ports. Usually, the switches have an uplink port that you can connect it into, and work just fine. At least, that's how my setup is running.
Re: You're only supposed to get an OEM OS with some kind of hardware purchase, thus justifying the lower price. But, to my knowledge, most OEM software discs work the same as retail.
Re: Just out of curiosity, what model Mac was this? I've seen that connector on a bunch of Powerbooks, but never a desktop system. I'd like to know, for nostalgia's sake!
Re:
Run your anti virus and your adware/ spybot. Dont always rely on them doing there job by themself. Run manually. Try Running Defrag and doing a clean up. Some Problems are just hardware probs. I know because I bought a HP. Been for repair 3rd time in 18 months. Thank …
Re: More than likely, you will be unable to restore. This could be because of corrupted restore files, an unremovable update, or like mikeandike22 suggested, maybe the System Restore components are fubared. Try his suggestion, but consider this as well: If you can't restore from any point, you probably won't be …
Re: In your situation, I'd just back up the files you know you want to save to the network share, and leave it that. You're going to have trouble backing up the whole OS, unless you wanted to boot to DOS, get the appropriate NIC driver loaded, map the network share …
Re: What is that error Symantec gives you? Blah blah blah tells us nothing.
Re: Quick question: Are you running PC3200 (400mhz) RAM?
Re: Just find where they're stored on the hard drive, and you'll be able to access them, just like any other kind of data.
Re: This sounds like a homework problem. What are your thoughts on the situation? I can think of a general idea of how I'd set it up, but I think it'd be best to see your take on it before providing any further assistance.
Re: First off, don't download videos from iMesh. You're just asking for trouble. Secondly, you got the trouble you're asking for; run the spyware removal tools that I have linked in my sig. Basically, the version of Windows Media Player you're running is old, and has a vulnerability that lets spyware …
Re: Don't use it-- it's garbage. I know it's free, but it installs spyware on your system. As soon as I installed it, I got a major popup outbreak. If you really need a burning program, try to download a demo of Nero or something, or if you have XP, use …
Re: Sounds like you might have a bad drive on your hands...
Re: What is the output you're currently getting? That may help us determine where the hang-up is. Additionally, if you don't mind posting the actual code you're using to display the calendar, that would probably help. Also, have you considered using a table with invisible borders, rather than trying to display …
Re: I'd start with simple SCSI troubleshooting. Are there any LUN ID's to be set? Does the drive need any termination? I know under Linux/UNIX, I'd check the startup messaging to see if the system saw it there. Have you tried it on another system?
Re: Are you sure ASP is really supposed to work under ME? I thought you were supposed to have IIS 6 with ASP server extensions added in.
Re: It's a trial version. It's supposed to be time limited, so you have a reason to buy it. Closing the thread; any attempt at extending the trial period would violate their licensing, thus being piracy, whether you like it or not.
Re: Probably want to try CWShredder: http://www.intermute.com/spysubtract/cwshredder_download.html Failing that, you can post a HijackThis log here in this forum.
Re: What's it doing/not doing? Posting code is one thing, but if you describe what is supposed to happen, someone can help you target what the problem is.
Re: Have you tried walking through the installation yet? Last time I ran the Exchange server setup, it told you what steps you needed to take before, after, and during the installation. I'd just run setup, and see what the instructions list.
Re: I would like to know where you read that DJ has Linux support...
Re: More than likely, that's what MP3 players in cars would recognize-- the ID3 tags. Many programs can change/edit these tags. Check this out for more information: http://www.id3.org/
Re: www.java.com There's a "Get it Now" Yellow button right there, on the page.
Re: What kind of system/device is this? We'd need to know before being able to tell you anything further about your device.

Re: You'll need to get a wireless adapter for your PC, and a wireless router. For the Playstation, you'll need the broadband adapter. You might want to consider just connecting the Playstation directly to the wireless router, rather than using wireless, just for the sake of simplicity.
Re: I'd suggest investing in a different machine for AutoCAD stuff. The graphics card isn't incredibly powerful in it... But, for office and productivity tasks, it'd be golden.
Re: You should be able to do that-- just set the Nvidia as your main card. Don't actually install any drivers for the Matrox, though-- just use the default Windows drivers. When you want to game, just disable the extra displays provided by the Matrox card. You should be in good …
Re: Have you tried booting from your MacOS installation CD? It could be that you need to run Disk Setup and initialize the disc with the proper HFS partitions before booting it. It's at least worth a shot.
Re: To be honest with you, you'd probably be better off buying a new CPU/mobo combo than upgrading. PIII's cost way more than they're worth right now, like $100 for a 1.13ghz chip. I'd imagine, though, that'd be the highest you could go. I think PriceWatch has some PIII's listed, still.
Re: If you go to Microsoft's website, they actually have a download called Windows Script 5.8. Simply reinstalling that has solved many an error like this for me.
Re: Yes. You absolutely can do that. But, you'll have to uninstall the program from Drive 0, and then reinstall it, being sure to specify you want to install it on the right drive.
Re: What resolution are you trying to change it to? What is the size of your monitor? It sounds like you're just picking the wrong resolution. I'd start small, and move up gradations, like 800x600, then to 1024x768, and so forth. Also, you can go in to Device Manager (right click …
Re:
Hello, Can some-one please tell me : What is "Organic EL screen" ?
It's just another type of display-- I'm guessing EL meaning "electroluminescent", or light-up
I am new to MP3 players. I want to buy one that does not only play mp3 files but also play and …
![]() | Re: More than likely, you can just place any 2.5" IDE laptop into the caddy that the old one was in. It should work, so long as the BIOS can support the drive's size. If it's really old, I wouldn't go larger than 100-120GB. |
Re: Are you sure you installed the hard drive correctly? A hard drive cable installed upside-down can contribute to a big loss in speed, though the drive will work.
Re: Have you reseated the drive cable? When do you get that error? I would suggest connecting the drive as a secondary master for the sake of troubleshooting. By isolating the drive, we can determine if your problem is due to a bad drive, cable, or motherboard, if it's even a …
Re: There's no such thing as "Master" drives in SATA nomenclature. What errors are you getting with your setup? Additionally, are you wanting to install on one drive, and use the other as a second drive, or are you wanting to run a RAID system?
Re: Do you want RAID or not? You have to configure it in the RAID BIOS to set up a RAID set that includes both drives.
Re:
to be very honest, i have never much cared where anyone was from, if they had good info, or if i could enjoy them, i could care less if they came from backwater hic town.
I feel this exact same way. The only reason I care whether or not the …
Re: A month? Wow. That's a seriously long time. Most places have turn around times of around 10 business days. If you're with in warranty, get it in there, no matter how long it takes! I'd hate to be put in a position where the LCD went out or something, and …
Re: I've "modded" my case, but for purely functional reasons: 2 holes in the side panel to accomodate two 92mm Vantec tornados holes drilled in the front for better air intake from the front 80mm fans on my hard drives. Like someone else mentioned, my system's under a desk, so I …
Re: You don't have to use MusicMatch unless you're fooling with DRM music-- the Dell DJ driver will allow you to copy through a device in My Computer. But, I'd say this decision is in the eye of the beholder, or the beholder of the wallet. The DJ is probably the …
Re: What's your email provider? I just read on Slashdot that there's a mail filter company that's just added a bunch of AOL addresses to its black list.
Re: The system fan connector is for your Chassis fan. The Power fan connector is primarily used to fan speed monitoring on the PSU, I think.
![]() | Re: I can't find it right now because the work machine I'm posting from is locked down, but I think you might want to look into a feature called auditing |
Re: Hey there, You've already posted a question in the Python forum-- anyone skilled in Python is already checking out your thread. As such, I'm going to close this crosspost. :)
Re: I like trackballs, except for doing Desktop publishing/digital art and gaming. If I didn't do both of those frequently, I'd probably use a trackball. As a matter of fact, I'm thinking of switching over to a trackball at work, as I don't do either of those activities there.
Re: You're going to be out of luck-- Gmail only allows 10MB email attachments, IIRC. Why do you need them zipped, anyways? You're not going to save that much space... |
The End.
