If it works fine and is not broken then I don't want it. If it's broken, I can fix it. If it's in my trash can then no one in the world would want it either.

Re: There are two models of the E151fpb. the earlier models have weak solder points that need to be re-soldered. the newer versions have other problems. If your monitor works for a little while, then goes white, then i'd look at the buck resistor at the upper right hand corner of …

Re: It is common to track company resources. There is one area of concern: Tampering. Check your agreement with your employer concerning loaned equipment. Re: Here goes, find the specs on your motherboard and find out if your video card is integral or separate. If it is integral then I would say another mobo, but if it is separate then remove, clean and reinsert and retest, then repost with results. This sounds like a loose …
Re: Time for a new PC. Emachines typically have very cheap power supplies, and they will eventually feed 24 or so volts to the motherboard. Pow, zap, throw away.
Re: The backlight is definitley not working here. For it to work, the light must get high voltage from the inverter, and the inverter must get power and logic signals from the motherboard through the inverter cable. So, the light is not being powered. Why? Check the cable and the inverter …
Re: List your motherboard make and model, and your BIOS version please.
Re: Boot into the BIOS, and check your hardware configurations. You may find that the fan is set on high. I've seen BIOS settings reset for no reason at all, and a power flux can definitely do it. Also, is the server running normally?
Re: Install Dell compatible RAM, then retest and repost. Dell, IBM, and Compaq are RAM-headache machines.
Re: This is a very complicated question, as any need for performance will need the PC to be tailored to the task. Are you an average user, a gamer, or an IT professional running gobs of data all day? The amount of RAM will only be recognized by a 64 bit …

Re: Since starting in the computer field back in 1979, I've seen an ongoing war with processors. Some tout their speed, others, their design, and still others heat and power characteristics. Re: After you boot up, hit <fn F7> and see if it helps. This key combination cycles the video card through internal, external and no monitor. While doing this, have another nmonitor plugged into the rear video port.c This will let you know if your video card is any good.. Also, …
Re: The big question here is what component is making the noise. Where exactly on the laptop are the noises coming from? It may be that your laptop (LT) is trying to access a drive and finding nothing. If a program is told to access a drive and it finds nothing, …
Re: It sounds like the power jack inside the laptop has broken. We've fixed a lot of power jacks, and your symptoms fit the bill. Strip the motherboard out of the laptop, and buy a new powerjack, and carefully replace the power jack.
Where exactly is the security chip located on this motherboard? We need to replace it, and there are 3 identicle chips to the new one that is in our hands. there are no identifying numbers on the new one.
Re: Take out the motherboard, and inspect the power connector-to-motherboard solder joints. Look for hairline cracks in the solder. Resolder if you find any. Also test for power coming in while the motherboard is out, see if the board is receiving power.
Re: we have a policy with replacing electronic parts, and that is to use only the exact part # that the computer wa shipped with. However, if you know that the SXGA+ screen (LTD141EM1X) will work without any problems, then you have a bad LCD screen. If you are unsure about …
Re: LCD screens do have bulbs. They are cold cathode ray flourescent lights, and are called backlights. CCFL's, they are along the bottom of a laptop screen, and about 2mm wide. Very fragile, well hidden. If yours is turning on, and then turning off, then I would say there are 2 …
I know the 1150's have a power jack issue, we've fixed a huge amount of them. The one problem we haven't figred out is this. After some repairs to the power jack, the laptop will run on battery, it says that it is charging BUT, it is actually running off …
Re: Plug in an external monitor, if the external one works fine, then it is time to swap the LCD screen for a good one. Along both axis of a screen there is a circuit board that generates the signal required to flip the crystals so that they display data. It …

Re: Sounds like a power problem. Inspect the motherboard under a magnifying glass. look for any bad solder joints, especially around the battery plug area and the power jack area. It sounds like a connection is failing under load. If you fins abad solder joint, then repair it.

One of my kids caught the power cord and ( you know it) the laptop hit the floor. I caught it at the last second, so it didn't take a bad whack, but now the screen is all white. The laptop is fully functioning, and works on an external monitor. …

Re: Most likely, yes. Hit the 'FN' key and the 'F' key with the monitor printed on it. If the spare monitor does not wake up, after 5 seconds or so, then do it again. This will cycle the video card between the onboard LCD and the exterior monitor connection.
Re: Plug in an external monitor. If the external displays fine, then the video card is also fine. Gently pinch the edges of the LCD screen where the lines terminate. If the lines change or go away, then it needs a new LCD screen.
