Feel free to add a link. The first find about KCP is at https://docs.kcp.io/kcp/main/ and again I don't see the connection to your project.

I'm not at my dev machine but the code looks incomplete to me. See more examples at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/system.datetime.now?view=net-7.0

Use the console output to check your work as per examples.

I noticed you mentioned the old guest account which has been disabled for maybe a decade because, many reasons.

So for my Pi NAS I went right to "create an account" that matches what I use on the Windows PC. This has to match exactly since we are not using a domain server which would be a whole discussion on its own. By exact I lost time talking about this because folk didn't always understand that the username "Jimmy" on the PC would fail to validate on the NAS with the account name "jimmy".

So again I've brought up the account name issue. The next thing to note is Name Resolution. See if you can ping the Pi to see if basic IP name resolution is working. If it doesn't ping by name, ping by IP. If ping by IP works then check if NETBIOS over TCP/IP is disabled and turn that on (enabled). In some cases I'll just add the Pi to the Windows hosts file. Then reboot and test.

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

I set up same a few years ago. There's one more step I did back then but given the time that has passed it may or may not apply. But hey, data freely shared here. What was it?

I had to add one more account on the Pi. The username and password was the same as what I use on my Windows PC. If you want to read longer prior discussions on this, Google "Windows 10 uses Windows account for SMB". There may be more work on the shared folder permissions on the Pi but this area has tripped up far too many so I'll start with this nugget.

In my circle we can't use blockchain because of a missing feature. It's really a simple one. Ready?
There is no HARD DELETE feature. Once data is in the chain, it's stuck forever.

As such we would be paying for storage forever for dead data.

Blockchain does have its use but for us, it's dead technology.

Why wouldn't I use that?

Think of the reasons behind this. In fact I have in my office an old laptop from 1998 which reminds me of those days.

  1. Laptops back then had not so bright displays. Today with OLED, LED and such displays, it's often too bright.
  2. In smartphones, a light mode may reduce the number of minutes you get from the battery.
  3. Old people. Many have vision issues so let's give the users a choice.

One of the reasons to keep Android Studio is the emulator. I used that a lot and even if I were to change Android devkits, I'd keep that handy.

I read a few discussions about this on Reddit and for now I agree it appears broken. Some note that you do what it tells you and at the last step it fails again. "if you actually tried to set up the msg, right bfr finalizing it will tell you that you already have it running".

The rules look onerous. Especially this one: "You must keep a record of the consent that users have given." Wouldn't this mean we have to add a field to every user?

I don't have an answer for you here except it looks broken for now.

And now the bad news: QR Codes are common attack vectors. Example:

The FBI and Better Business Bureau warn criminals are taking advantage of the convenience — in some cases, even sticking malicious QR codes over real ones.

Because of this I never scan QR codes. I suggest you never scan them as well.

My take is that with security updates to the Windows OS, even W7 and the age of VB6 all bets are off that an app made with VB6 is a roll of the dice.

I know as we continued support and fixes on our old VB6 apps till the clients felt it was getting too expensive to maintain which was the truth.

We found ourselves reaching the limits of what we could fix and are glad we could call an end to the VB6 apps.

The thing is, when I work for a company I expect the company to provide the tools for the job. If you work as a programmer for a company they supply such things.

The last work I did used a heck of a PC. It was a laptop with the Core i9 CPU, 32GB RAM, the RTX 3070 GPU and all SSD. I think it was expensive but since it was a company owned laptop, I didn't have to pay for it.

Looks like payware that I haven't encountered. Read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guidewire_Software

Since you are paying them, ask their support for ideas.

The number of discussions about "my personal info" has been leaked, obtained, etc. is off the charts. The consensus is that your personal info is, in short, on the web and in all those social media sites such as Facebook and more.

The advice is usually to stop using social media and go dark. Stop feeding the beast. Finally, stop worrying they are tracking you. Unless you are a Jan 6 insurrectionist or similar, you're not that interesting.

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

It appears you want to discuss Psychology. Maybe a book about dark psychology would shed light on this:

https://thehill.com/policy/technology/4162573-ai-art-cant-earn-copyright-judge-rules/ give us a preview that those that use AI, ML, GPT and such may be on uncertain ground if they want to copyright the code.

You may not be aware that most of the online AI/ML/GPT systems keep copies of what you generate. So if you are creating code for your company, the future may have a surprise waiting for you.

AndreRet commented: Surprised, who me, nah, not at all :) +15
rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

Yes, you only write that after I reply about what you wrote. In this thread there was no caveat until I complained again.

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

And there it is again. If I were to share how to get GPT to give better results, the copy paste of AI/GPT output is unavoidable. As such, sharing what we learned is not possible here.

Weird choice but hey, your choice which I will abide by. Example: An AI whisperer is a specialist who excels in comprehending, communicating with and guiding AI systems.

How to share how to improve GPT performance is not possible without copy/paste from the AI/GPT session.

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

So why do folk write such articles? Why not cover use cases such as folk and companies I know?

My answer as above by Douglas Adams: "This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

We've reduced costs, increased productivity and won't be going back to pre-GPT days.

As to use at your own risk, that's true of Human Generated Code (HGC?)

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

As to good/bad code, I doubt humans do much better at their first pass.

Our success rate so far is 100%. We measure success in that the staff is able to get the job done with the GPT assist and not having to bother me or other consultants.

However there are those that want to write "it writes bad code" for reasons I can't guess. Maybe it's along the lines of self preservation?

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

I'll supply two recurring uses that have resulted in lower cost and lower human capital. That will upset a few out there.

  1. Company would call on a SQL consultant at times. GPT has replaced that need for the consultant.
  2. Another area is to contract for code that used regular expressions. Again, GPT has filled that need.

As GPT progressed this year more and more people I know use GPT based products to be more productive. Adoption of AI/ML/GPT has been swift and impactful.

This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

While it's ambitious, the only way for you to do this is to dive in and do this.

If you were looking for tutorials, you would do research on Google to start.

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

This just in from an AI researcher.

Given the impact GenAI has had, it's been odd to see how unwelcome discussions about GenAI are here and other places.
Then again, it is an existential threat to new and old programmers that don't add these new tools to their repertoire or skill set.

Also, AI/ML has created no end of angst in Hollywood. Last month a company that makes audiobooks reduced its workforce because the AI tool to make audiobooks costs 20USD a month. Everyday voice actors at this point are going to have a rough time going forward except for the big names.

I have stories about the use of AI/ML/GenAI in the circles I run. All use has resulted in higher productivity. Which is good for the company, not so much everyone else.

I think that's a basic flaw in your approach. That is, to draw RGBA you'll have an new image set as RGBA. Such as:
img = Image.new('RGBA', (100, 100), (255, 255, 255))

But I don't see that so your draws will be RGB.

Opera One is the latest version of Opera Browser,

It replaced Opera for Windows, macOS, and Linux recently.
"Speed dial section has a list of server pushed speed dials, starred web pages that you add by pressing the star symbol in the menu while browsing,"

As I use a few too many browsers for testing I mix up what the design elements are called from time to time. In this case Opera calls it Speed Dial. Opera is also on iOS just like Google has Chrome for iOS and Apple OS.

Remember I don't consider such things to be a bug. I report when I see changes even if they seem minor just in case it matters to TPTB.
