the reason the virus might keep coming back is it may be hiding in your system restore area. boot into safemode (hit f8 repeatedly during windows initial startup) login as admin right click on your harddisk and turn system restore off under properties (this wil delete any restore points!) reboot …

i got a dell with a radeon x800 pro and 2.5gb of DDR 533 ram and a Petium 4 HT and it runs battlfied 2 perfectly on the highest settings so no, i dont think having the fastest ram ever makes that much of a difefrence.

generally new paste is a bad idea as old paste is better as it is "bedded in" - so long as the CPU temp is 50-70 degrees centigrade then its ok

Open it up. If it has white slots there pci should look like this: http://www.hothardware.com/reviews/images/tualatin/pci_slot.jpg 99% of the time any wired network card will do, get a cheap one for under £20 - there usually very good and it if doesnt work then no loss

if its DDR it needs to be installed in mathcing pairs so your choices are: 4x256 or 2x512 - i dont believe there would be any loss of speed if you choose either one

hit f8 repeatedly when it begins to start windows and choose "safemode" - you should then be able to delete the offending software
