Try unpluging your laptop charger from the wall (but leave it in your laptop) and hold the on button on your laptopn untill the light on the charger goes off. this should drian all power from your battery and the charger, once the light on the charger has gone off plug it back in again, wait for 60 at least seconds and try turning your laptopn on.

actually it shoulb be remove the battery and the power plug ,hold in the power button to for 60sec drian all power from the motherboards capasitors ,and then connect it back up and try agian ,that the way it works in my neck of the woods anyway

always like trying things like this so i downloaded the same as you did and ran it and it copied the file to the usb no problem ,one this i will say is to go to windows diskmanger and format the usb drive before trying to copy the image ,berhaps

not big into creating and saving data,but i do know when i do create a lets say a ms word project ,i use "save as" very early into the project and hit save when i add new data ,and if i know im going to be leaving it for a bit i "save" again right after last thing i add ,all the while never closing the document ,so noting is lost if computer shuts off while im gone .

did you apply thermal compond/paste on the cpu before installing the heatsinc/fan

if the mic is not open ,then how do you talk to your boyfiend ,its a head set/mic combo correct ,the mic has to be picking up other sound in the room ,unless it has a on off switch ,me thinks anyway .

having said that maybe you mic is plugged into the wrong port on the computer ,what is the make and model of your head set

you need to go into audio device options and choose the hdmi as the default ,i think ,go to start ,control panel and open Sound icon ,you will need to set the laptop speacker back when finished with the hdmi

let me get this strait ,you have a open mic to talk to your boy friend ,and you play music and games out loud, and you don't expect the mic to pick that up and brodcast it to who's ever on the other end ,cant see that not happening

I think the full answer would need more info like what you plan on doing /using the new video card for .
,but having a quick look with google ] your model shows it could have a 300W power supply ,not very big ,most new cards will need at best 500W or more .

my suggestion is to disable sleep mode just set monitor to turn off instead ,like hibernation it never was a reliable function in winxp ,not a fix i know but my opinion only

not sure what it not been reformated has to do with it ,windows is still installed on it is it not ,i though it had windows on it just would not boot to it ,

to me it makes no sense to me that a once working laptop stopped working and needs a bios update to fix it ,bios updates are just that, update fixes for know issues of present working bios ,not total break down . i did read one post of a person with said problem and they fixed it by removing the ram and just using one ram moduel and it boot back up for them .

it will likely cost more to fix than to replace .with a compatable board

if you flash it wrong you could render the laptop useless you know .
i google your error and one person fixed it by booting into safe mode [hitting f8 on bootup]and doing a system restore back to when the laptop booted correctly

remove all addin cards ,if any in it , ,like video ,network ,sounf modem ,ect ect , also seen bios stop a board from booting ,remove the bios battery for about 5 min ,then replace ,of if you can see the bios rest pins[usually near the battery ] just use them to reset bios to defaults ,
