have you tried starting the PC in safe mode or use the last known good configuration. for now remove the HDD let it remain out of the PC for at least 1 hour. then re-attach boot to safe mode

PLEASE ensure the HDD is the only HDD connected and set to master (If you are using IDE)

are the videos on your HDD of from the internet.

first of all WHY are you running so many tool bars..... these all have to be loaded with when windows start. AND i am sure some of these have adware and malware running in the background. remove some of those stuff stop so many programs from running when windows start. then give it a try...

go to control panel>user account and change/add password for the accounts then try to log on to them

Are you running the latest update for the spy wares.

If you are using IDE connection set the 80G HDD to master with slave, and the 60G to slave, Install you operating system on the 80G, moving files between the 2 will not be as hard However, some system files will not be Move.......some HDD comes with a cd that help you to move the files from one HDD to another.....

does it show the correct size in the BIOS. if yo got a cd with the drive use it to set up the drive to run an operating system

you can extract the files from the exe or when you click on it look at the directory it's extracting to......I has to decompress the files before installing,,,,,,mostly in the user temp directories.

Had to go into safe command to access the logs basically the system has torn itself apart. Oh well I am planning on buying a new desktop come tax time so no worries. Thank you for the help though I will keep it in mind for the future.

What are the spec on these case, size, and so fort, or the links to the cases., Personally i like quiet and cool, and the case really has little to do with all of that, except the light, for cool you want a mother board with pipes and a super quiet fan for your cpu then a fan on the pipe fins taking aware the heat plus fans on the case, as for the light, thats your choice and color. @ Suetan..true nut not necessary..... try changing the channel they your router is on, (this will require instruction on how to log into the router) the distance you are from the router will affect your signal, also the number of connection you have on the router as wireless. a few other thing too, other network, and cordless phone of the 900 mhz frequency. microwave baby monitors. let up know what type of router you have and if you need help in login in and changing the channel

open Norton internet security, look around in the option or setting, you should be able to turn off or disable auto protect. as for the auto updates see if there is a setting to disable/close internet connection after updating......if you are not very familiar with this get some one to help.

I suggest you disable auto protect, and try the windows up date,,,as a point when you restore the system before the update, that mean you don't have the updates anymore, and you would ahev to down load again. also check if the setting have an option to close internet connection what it is completed.

sound like your HDD is dying,,,,disconn the HDD, and leave the cd drive attach, set bios to boot from CD, if your get the boot screen from the cd then you have a HDD prob..then reconn the HDD, disconn the cd now boot, with the HDD, let us know whats happen......but i do beleive your boot sector on the HDD is dead.

try other sata slot,,,how many you have on your board

get a malware/spyware on your pc and keep it updated,,,,,spybot S&D is a good one, install, update and immunize the eystem, run a scan every week and keep it updated....

sound to me like Mcafee is causing some conflict with you broswer,,,,,,basically the browser want to allow certain thing to run mcafee is stoping it,,,,,open the mcafee console and stop the onaccess scan, then try using your broser, let us know how that goes

Apart from rewiring the entire windows operation there is not much more that can be done all the tweaks mention are very good and you can get one program to do all this, seem you want to know the codes for windows and change them yourself,,,,,,NOT going to happen. you can search high and low thats as much as you are going to get. I suggest you look into Ubuntu as an alternative to you woes.

This laptop seem to be over heating, can you see/hear the fan when you power on the laptop. what type of surface you have it place on when using it.

the back up file might have been created by the person working on your PC. if you need to regain some space right click on my computer choose properties then the advance tab, under user profile click setting it will show you each user on the PC and the amount of space each account profile takes up. as for regaining space right click on the drive choose properties and got to the general tab. click disk cleanup. it will run a scan on your pc and tell you cant can be deleted,. as for the owners doc and shared doc, take a look at the file if you recognized them they too might have been placed there by the person working on your pc, if you don't recognized them delete them
