base on what i am looking at i beleive your need to set your refresh rafe to a faster refresh hz = (hertz) this needs to be be done both on the monitor and your video card setting.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

your winlogon.exe is corrupted. you can get to a dos prompt with your xp cd and extract it to the destination directory. C:\Windows\system32

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

when i ask if you formated the HDD i meant did u type a command to format the drive or did the restore process ask you if u want to format and you choose yes

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

seem like you are now getting good advise, here is a trick, to delete internet temp file u have to do one of two things, use disk clean up or do it in safe mode. then empty the recycle bin. if system resoter is turned on at the time of deleting them, if you restore they will come back. turn off system restore, delete then empty the recycle bin. then restart. turn on system resore then creat restore point that you will regognize and one without tem files. so if u ever neeen to restore to that point bam.....no temp file

now as for printing i assume you are talking about a list of the temp file. right??? if so use a screen shot program. snagit is a good one.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

you are welcome, keep running the spyware/antivirus, i know its a log process, but it's worth it. bare in mind also you need to update the scan engine of each program you are running.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

did u format the HDD yourself or was it done byt the restore cd?

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

use partition magic, it can merge both partition.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

try this from microsoft
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/320159

Also delete
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.turkeytravelsite.org/

do you recognize these ip address in the registry i beleive they are related to the turkey wed site.
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{F896D780-017A-4187-BC00-DC9B732EDBFA}: NameServer = 195.175.39.39 195.175.39.40

run spybot and adware in safe mode and delete the above reg keys. then follow the step above

Ok here is the skinny, i have an old system that runs win XP MCE. recently the PC would not boot up, so i did the regular T-Shooting. i realized the cpu was overheating. and the T-Grease was virtually nil. place some new T-grease and after a few tries it was booting up. a few days pass and i try to boot up, but lo and behold the HDD starting making a clanking soung. i said to myself AHHHH shooot i blew another HDD. i have a restore set so i pop in the western Digital cd , boot up, test the drive and format it. now here is the kicker. connects the formated HDD and each time i try to boot, no bios screen nothing the monitor just come on( green light) as if receiving a signal. then goes back (orange).if the HDD is left connected the pc powers down on it's own if the HDD are disconnected the PC boots to the bios but reports no bootable device found, i know i would get that. pop the restore set in it boots up to the logon screen but mouse and keyboard does not respond. so i unplug mouse and re-insert nothing, did the same for keyboard- remove and re-insert and the monitor goes blank. so i was like what the FLIP. Any suggestion help are welcome

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

with some of the files listed in windows or windows/system32 they have a nasty way of coming back even when you delete them so the only way around it to do the spyware/awadare scans. also delete any instance of a restore point and turn it off for now as any thing that saved will be infected too. make sure to manually delet all cookies and temp files. i know it can be painstakingly long, i had to deal with it once took me 2 days but back then i had time. keep at it did u try righ click on the desktop and show desktop icon

PS did u get a set of restore cd with the PC?

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

trust me the geek squad is right, the mobo is gone, take that power supply and test in another comp, it will still work. i am telling you this from experience, i have 2 at home tha the mobo went kaput, those machines are the worst.

where in the carribean Zandiago, i am from the carribean too, Jamaica to be exact.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

did u install any new program or hardware recently

the following items below are all suspect.
ENSURE YOU BACK UP ANY REG KEY BEFORE EDITING.
seeing that you can start in safe mode remove all these items, do search for the file name, remove reg entries, then run adaware, spybot and any malware program u have in safe mode. then do a bootlog startup, if this is not not able to help check the log and see where the error is. if after u still can't boot to normal mode you might have to do a repair of windows,

welcome wolterl, from one geek to another.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Lanii, with zone alarm it will allow only the ip that was allowed to conn, what you need to do is verify your ip from the command prompt, if there are diff remove the one in zonealarm. also make sure yo9ur network conn is set to obtain ip automatically and dns automatically. also in internet option ensure that the setting for use the following proxy server/setting is not checked. your ISP use DHCP so your ip will get change some times, this is automatic.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

did u ever try to reboot all your devices, modem, router, computer. remove the conn between the modem and router then boot in this sequence, modem. when fully booted, boot router. when fully booted conn eth cable between moddem and router. then boot pc.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

you could have also tried associating SWF file with IE as the default veiwer. but i guess sp3 took care of that,

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

ENSURE YOU DO A BACKUP BEFORE U EDIT THE REGISTRY RIGHT CLICK ON THE KEY AND CHOSE EXPORT....HKCU = Hkey_Current_User, follow the path to the key then delete the entry.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

below is a line from your hijack list, this is a loopback ip address, some program is setting this up for IE, cdelete the key then config your internet connection setting to obtain ip adress automatically and dns server automatically. also ensure that in internet options you set your default caoonection never to dial a connection.
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyOverride = 127.0.0.1

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

to begin, i am some what confused. how can you clean install and have problem with trojans already.. well that aside here a few things you can check. memory mods, make sure they are seated properly, cpu, ensure the thermal grease is good not flaky stuff, check the jumpers on each HDD make sure the config match whats in the pc, meaning master with slave or master then slave, and oh yeah check the cable( are they ide)???? check the bios make sure there is no setting to turn off the pc if the temp reach a certain level, ( load optimal setting for the bios) last but not least make sure there are no software that control temp for the cpu, thse will shut down the pc.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

your cpu is on the fritz, get a new one, the old one overheats, PS can u configure cpu heat signature in the bios, try that too

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

whats the secret

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

i was enquiring if there was an easy fix, when non of the ip config commands work

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

did u format the disk, did u make the partition the primary and active partition that you install windows on. if u answer no to any of the above get it done reinstall windows. if u answer yes do a repair and use the fxboot option.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

check the ide cable maybe its turned aroung the wrong way on the mobo. if that does not solve the problem, check your power connection on the mobo, as for checking the board with a bootable cd thats a no no. not without a HDD in the box. as for powering down. are u reffering to the shutdown command, give a little more

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

check the cable connecting the monitor to the PC and the pwr supply. is there any message when it flashes or color?

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

ok a few things here, why not go back in safe mode and udo all trhe security policies that were set apparently there were not done properly. next the second drive you put in would not work, one it's config with diff hardware you would get a bunch of errors if you try to boot from the disk unless the computer are identical. and yes if you format the drive that had the restrictions you will loose all the files on it. event the restricted files.(restrictions only work inside the operating system) do a reinstall without wiping the disk this should remove the restrictions and keep your present softwares intact. as for the RAW drive you can use windows xp disk manager to format the drive if u are able to boot with another drive and the RAW drives is een by the BIOS.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

theNNS you are so wrong, there is a version for windows XP media Center 2002. I am telling you this because i have it runnning on a pc. the properties tab say this.

now as for the limited/no connectivity, check your ip address, a 169.xxx.xxx will give this message, if you are getting a 169 try these steps outlines in this link
http://www.mepisguides.com/fti/cox/169-data-for-Cox-Tier-I.html
if u are not getting a 169, check the cable or your ethernet card/port is on the fritz, invest in a new one.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

first thing you want to do is check too see if the drive is recognized in the BIOS if i't not, check cable and IDE setting in bios maybe it's turned off the secondary ide channel. if the BIOS detects it but not windows explorer, it's a registry tweak that has to be done. are u comfy going into the registry??????

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

if u dont have the cd get a copy from some one and extract each file to their respective directories.
NB u can also copy them if u can opn the cab file that each file is in.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

i am going to assume you are runing some variant of windows. if u have the cd you can extract those programs back to there original directories here follow these instruction to get this done
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/132913

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

kgreen, check your IP address. if you are getting a 169.x.xxx.xx u have to do a winsock repair as eduardomchl suggested. the other being that you are too far from the base station, try changing the channel. the next thing you can do a remove the network and reconfig it, this usually will work.
PS are u using wireless zero to control your wireless or a pc manufacturer software.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

are u any good with the registry?????

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

also check the jumper setting, partition, and cable for the HDD the partition has to be primary and active. try runigh fdisk, then format and see if that helps

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

and what is the capability of the burner. can it burn all format of blank media?

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

it would be best if you start a new thread, with your question. anyway what file system is on the hd. was the drive format on a windows system..

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

ok here a few tips, the xp keys are computer specific, especially if u activate. the cds. if they are retail (bought in store) original cds will work in any pc. you would only have to remeber the key that goes with a specific machine. now as for the admin right Go to Control Pannel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Local Users and Groups -> Users -> Administrator: Click on -Member Of- TAB: The only thing that you want in there is Administrators. Also, ensure that her account is listed in the administrator group.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

see below for unrecognized file that's a browser hijack.
to get rid of this file, start in safe more, run your spyware/adware remover, also do a search for the file in the registry and your HD. delete then restart normally, and run spyware/aware.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

you can try a few steps,
1 try extracting the cpl file to your pc
2 try do a reinstall
3 registry tweak

as for starting in safe mode hit F8 when your bios finish loading

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

happy i could be of help.
PS you might want to set your spayware to scan every day at a time you are not using the PC

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

PLEASE ENSURE YOU BACK UP REG KEYS BEFORE EDITING. and you might want to dot all this in safe mode. spyware that are listed in the windows directory and set to run have a nasty habidt of undeleting themselves. also run adaware & spybot in safe mode then restart and run the spyware programs again.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

below is a list of items you definately want to get rig of on your PC. weather bug is also a big leak to get pop up into yuour pc if u are not an avid weather fan GET RID OF IT. if u can navigate the registry find those entry delete them and find the other file and delete them from the directory listed.

your local area network will not be an issue when you are using dial up. the media disconn is reffering to local area network. which you are not using..

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

this DNS error is mainly base on your connection timing out. maybe from low resources, winsock error or your tcp/ip settings need to be configured over. yo need to change the time to live(TTL) for your dialup and ensure dns is enable for your dial up. if these fail reinstall the winsock file locaed in the windows/system32 directory. you might want to also chech the resources that you have running while browsing, how much mem compare to how many programs runnung.

if you can get a winxp bootable cd, u can run a repair and do a fixboot your pc will be back up, However you can always do a completed restore, which mean you will loose all data thats presentl;y on the HD ( there is not way aroung that but a back up) as what gergil said the cd nor your hd will work in anyother pc, the compress bin fin in the cd is made specific for your emachine. you can put the hd in anoher pc and save the files u need then do a full restore of the HD in the emachine

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

try this, go to this registry key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Desktop\SafeMode\Components
Change the value of DeskHtmlVersion to zero instead of decimal 272.

let me know if it works
