Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

im sorry could either of you explain abit better? and please dont dbl/trp post, theres an edit button for a reason

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

no clue sounds like spyware though

try spy-bot serach and destroy and adaware >.> otherwise i cant think of anything else

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

G's been out for a while, however its not a standard, oh i missread your post ^^'' no youd only need one, for some reason i got 6 via ethernet and 2 via wireless

the reason to go with standards are they ARE standarized, theres no mixing and matching, B is currently the only wireless standard that im aware of.

you really dont NEED that extra 40mbps as youd never really see it. however if its cheeper to go with G i wouldnt pass it up :)

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

ok, well the quicker solution would be to buy two routers, one with wireless and one regular, i can persnoally suggest linksys as they have built in abilite to network with/work with their own routers there even deisnged for stacking. i wouldnt suggest going with the G modle as its not a standard (at least not that ive heard) why you get more speed your not likly to see that speed over your internet, just locally, and moving files at 11mbps is fine anway :D windows cant actually handle file bursts much bigger than 40mbps even directly connected (via ethernet cable pc-pc)

i would suggest siwthcing to cable if you can handle it

i think releasitc coverage is about 75-100 feet, and thats in a bubble like fassion i have a small house and i even get decent reception from outside for abit.
also depends on insulation and whats in the way.

setup would be two linksys routers stacked ontop of each other with the wirless as the main. a wireless should be able to handle quite a few computers (10~)(also more than this and P2P over lan slows down anyway)
you then connect the regular router to the main router via a crossover cable, this will give you an aditional 3-4 slots depending on the make.

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

sounds like bad ram, do any of the contacts look fried?

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague
Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

there shouldnt be a driver for a burner, burners 99% of the time just "work" you need software to burn however

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

can i make an honest recomendation
GET RID OF AOL, ppl who think MS sucks should NEVER have aol, AOL hasnt been a decent browser ever

there are TONS of way better REAL isp's out there, ditch AOL and get something better hell for 5 more bucks a month you can usually get DSL now

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

if your still under their customer support id suggest calling them >.> because this baffles me

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

mm, i dont belive by default youd want to setup a placen for them to keep their files on the server and then if you have the harddrive space id setup shadow thingie i dont remember what its caled off the top of my head

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

your drives are most likly NTFS partition, and ive never been able to get any thing but Linux and NT to read NTFS file systems >.> so your sorta screwed

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

if you can get the audigy go for it. if you listen to music its well worth it :)

i have a Sound Blaster Audigiy :D it rox

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

mm, im a personal fan of AMD, 64bit is going to be the way to go, but be aware that if you do get the 64bit you do need to run windows xp 64bit edition to get the full preformance outta it.

and id go with the 9800TX ;D

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

as long as you have your restore disk, or the restore hd if its there and still intact you should be able to restore your computer

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

also try spybot search and destroy.

you can check your mail via OE or another browser untill the problem can be found

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

wont with Gamma on the way. well not exactly ;D

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

personally you would have been better off with XP home

if the computer was only a month old the XP would have really been the way to go

im not sure why your gettin a SCSI device and aUSB device.

have you tried windows update?

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

if your not going to be using it to play games , go with a 17in CTR save you tons of cash

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

xp home/pro should come preloaded. how much ram do you have in your system?

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

id suggest straying away from Kazaa till this whole RIAA thing cools down

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Burners dont usualy have drivers, i can suggest a differnt burner program that ive been using for a long time thats rather nice and i know they have a long free trial time ( almost unlimited )

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

no, i havent heard of that program, however i gave a suggestion as what to do about it with the best of my abilties of the other types of programs that i have used that make hd backups.

i was trying to help you, incase in the future, you need to give someone detailed info about your coimputer.

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

i offered help where it was due >.>

i give you my possible solutions

i told you how to classify your processor correctly, which it would also be P4 1.4 ghz or a 1400 mhz, a meg does not define anything in the computer world. megabyte or megahertz are two totaly difernt things, even a megabit is a differnt thing.

i was trying to be helpfull and i really dont like the fact that you call me Fagarnth, it wasnt very nice of you, please dont cotinue to reedit your post.

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

im here to help and education is a good tool :)

and my name is Faranth, its spelled very clearly :)

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

I got around this once before, but I was just wondering if there's an easier way....

I'm trying to install xp pro, and when it restarts the computer to begin the installation the screen goes blank when the GUI should show up. I got around it last time by putting an old video card in and then installing drivers for the geforce and switching out the old one. Just wondered what the easier way to fix this is; I'm sure there is one.

i think it might just be windows XP doesnt like some older hardware >.>

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

abuse? maybe at my own forums, but its stated that i have the right to ban anyone for anyreaosn, or with out it. so does that count as abuse?

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

have you just tried reseting the home page?
right click on your IE icon and click on properties first thing that should popup is a home page settin :)

or go to C:\WINDOWS\eeiecrgrststvst.htm

and delete that file, or i can suggest opening it, and editing it, just delete everything inside of the .htm and hit save

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

no and its mhz not megs ;)

mhz = megahertz

meg = nothing speicificly

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

theres such a thing as a p4 1400? do you mean an AMD XP 1400+ or a p4 running at 1.4 ghz?

might be a bad burner, i have never used the program so i couldnt tell you honestly >.>

why not burn the image to the Harddrive, then burn the image to a cd ?

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Im kinda of a newbie to wireless networking however i have a few questions I cant seem to find the answers on the net.

given a good or worse Wireless PCI Adapter what is the maximum range they can communicate to wireless router inside a house. Guessing the house has insulation between the walls and steel support beams.

Will i ever get 11Mbps speed or with a G card will i ever get 54 Mbps speed? IS this speed ideal internet speed or LAN Speed?

will a USB Wireless G Adapter limit my bandwith to the speed of the USB protocol my computer is running?

Why do some wireless pci adapters have the chip on it exposed like this picture
AOPEN Wireless adapter

and other have the chip covered with a device like this Dlink Wireless Adapter
D-LInk Wireless Adapter

im also considered buying this Wireless card on ebay anybody has any comments or suggestion let me know. The price is very attractive

Xstersys Wireless Adapter

1. id say around maybe 100 ft at the most

2. inhouse? maybe but not online, uness you have a t3 at your house

3. yes, if your using usb 1.1 with a wireless G your not going to see more than 11.2 mbps

4. quality of the company, personally i dont think it matters all that much

5. id stick to brandname with wireless, when it comes to G, …

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

id suggest using old way unelss it doesnt work, tools > internet option > home apge should be the first thing that popsup

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

uhh, i dont think this is a memory problem, im thinkging this is more of a DX problem and it might be direclty assicoated with the games, check for any patches or updateded releases and upgraded to the newest version of DX that your system can use

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

sounds like your ISP is having a DNS problem. please contact them

please wait more than an hour to bump your posts >.>

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

rename the files to .gif

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

moved to the right forum :D

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

switching browsers, untill you can find another solution, uninstall and reinstall IE, however i doubt this will work 100%, sounds like you just have an old fraged cruppted computer, id still suggest either switching browsers or reinstalling windows >.>

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

id suggest switching to mozilla/firebird/opera, or reinstalling >.>

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

it could have happened via bad shutdown, Fat32 has ez file cruption ;D

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

anyreaosn you cant update to IE 6?

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

can you tell me more about your system?

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

well you could loadup the windows 2k console (dos) program and physically copy anything you needed

another thing you could do is reinstall windows 2k to a differnt directory and buackup yourfiles then, however i belive you might lose some data

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

also be aware 802.11g is not a standard yet :)

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

find where there stored and changed them

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

she means you plugged the motherboard end of the plug into the drive and viseversa,

personally i hate floppys and the only one on my pc is there for looks

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

reinstall

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

very nice :)
