Unless you were using this for server reasosn what was the reason to upgrade it to 2003?

enable full hardware execel, and update your video drivers

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Try updating your video drivers along with a windows update, it sounds like the video card drivers have gone bad.

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

To be honest with you, they have a right to freeze your account at any time if they suspect fruad, they would do the same at your bank ;)

PayPal is a perfectly legal company :) and that warning site, if it wasl real they could at least do a better job at making it look decent.

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Not with out a password cracker :/

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Dont use Yahoos browser, use IE or Firefox

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

I use paypal, even at the business level i only lose about 3% of the rate, which isnt a big deal IMO, if your doing business your going to pay regarldess.

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Well the best quickest way to fix the problem as i have read would be to reinstall the server and MAKE SURE MP is selected during the setup :/

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

actually it should be

<img src="smilie.gif" alt="" />

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Try restoring to before the problem started

Start > All programs or Program Files > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

Choose a point before you started to have this problem.

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Is it in your start up folder? if so remove it from the startup folder.

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Bad port? another bad cable? if its homemade was it terminated properly?

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Check your cables, its sound like theyve died or had a short.

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Sapphire is what most overclockers tend to use from what I've heard. I'm actually picking up a Sapphire 9800 pro today after I get out of class. Dual athlons, 1.5gb of ram, mmmmm. I'm gonna own on Unreal!

Couldnt be althlons need to be MPs ;)

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Your really at a loss with so little Storage and Memory, your not going to be able to do much on any os besides dos with that little.

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

mirc can tell you :)

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

This sounds like a ISP issue more than anything else, i would try contacting them :)

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

You should have just booted to safe mode, and changed the pagefile from there.

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

personally if your looking for a large site and want ease of administration i can suggest vBulletin but it is a paid solution :)

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

erm well, theres no real way :/

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Sounds like a bad monitor.
Or at least some bad pins.

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Get rid of aol >.> and get a real isp, problem solved :/

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

I can suggest Firefox as an alterntaive to IE and it will stop popups and has a download manager.

Yes you should always have the most current IE, for secutiry reasons even if you dont use it.

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Sounds like you need to repair IE :/ or swicth to another browser

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Try clearing your cache and perhaps uninstalling MSN Game zone. and then reinstall it when prompted to

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Yes granted all PC's are under a dos6 naming convetion which is no spaces no non a-z 0-9 characters and under 7 letters long

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

What if anything are you programming in? If your using just html you should really brush up on your skills ;)

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Have you seen vBulletins new Default style? (www.vbulletin.com/forum ??)

vBulletin 3 runs faster and better than IPB1.3 and phpbb. Even with most of the features turned on, but in vB3 everything that can be turned on can also be turned off ;)

You dont even need to have the DHTML ;)

It shows when people who like to slam other software dont know what their talking about (not you Roberdin) But in general, when i browse the IBP forums from time to time, they all like to say vBulletin is more bloated, however most have never used it them selfs ;) they have no clue what their talking about.

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Oalee you have never used vBulletin compared to other products?

I only have 2 IPB forums on my entire list. and tahts because i staff for a game on one and im a supporting member of the second.

But i dont touch IBP UBB or phpBB communitys with a stick otherwise.

The adminstration and user end of each are yucky imo.

The forums system has abit to do with it, for the long run on the admin side you want somthing that can change adatap and is easily upgradable for secutiry reasons.

starting with phpbb or ipb will require a ton of basic hacks just to start making it work like vB2 OTB and a hell of a lot more to make it work like vB3 OTB. My members love vB3 and its features. theyve totaly left one or two otherboards for mine. Im sure that if i had somthing besides vB they might not have moved.

Security and Ease of Adminstration are two of the most important things both which vBulletin does well.

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

IF you want boot up windows xp from the disk and choose to delete and format the partition.

Windows XP Pro will take up about 2~ gigs/.

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

I really suggest not using hubs and rather getting routers or level 3 switches (mini routers)

Hubs need to be connected via Cross over cable. not via whatever you usualy buy at bestbuy.

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

You can get a virus from uysing any P2P program, be aware that it is illegal to download music off p2p's unless yhou already own the CD

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

No clue honestly, looks like a configuration file for a program.

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

I dont think i count lol

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Not to be rude...I wasnt looking for price questioning I was looking for advice on my ?'s. Thanks though

Also at pricewatch.com
They have the nvidia fx5600 for around $100 and the fx5700 256 for around $156.

Sorry ^_^ i ment no offense.

Tek's advice is good. When you finally get everything dont get bumed if it doesnt work on the first time. You will go though alot of trial and error.

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Wow your bulding a processor? how fast will it be? ;)

A CPU would be your processor, Your Building a computer ;) not a CPU ;D

Monitors usualy arnt that cheep unless their on sale
You can get 60-80gb hd's on sale for about 60-80 usd depending
512megs of memory will never be that cheep.
Video Card you can probally get a 9200 or a 9600 Radeon but i dunno about a Geforce, i dont use the,. you WONT get an FX for under 150
DVD / CDRW is about the best way to go, and they run about 100usd
a nice case with 350 ps will cost somwehere between 75-120 usd depeding on style. :)

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

DAP tends to cause this problem. :/

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

I'm planning on buying a new computer.

Im going dual processor again ( i used to have one) and i havent decided between Xeons or Mps ro Opterons.

And regardless of which i do decided on i still need a nice motherboard to go with it.

My local stores site has gone offline and that was my major source of imput, i could build and customize.

But im looking for Suggestions feedback and any imput you may have :)

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

You have any download accelerators installed?

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

You need to sort by types and show in groups i belive :)

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Probally bad video drivers, try booting into safe mode.

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Novell is an intresting system to say the least, and your miniunm specs to run 6.0 are crazy (256 megs of ram MININUM! any less and it will run slower than windows XP on a 486 )

You need to have a copy of dos to boot from to install it :)

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

go with B :)

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

if your still under warrenty try contcting HP

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Youve goten some spyware

download adaware 6 and spybot search and destroy and run scans.

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

You should really just invest in more ram if your having memory problems.

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Its probally a change Dani either did or overlooked on an upgrade. personally id rather see the exact time.

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

Are you still under warrenty from HP?

Zachery 43 The Geek Father Team Colleague

He probally was at some gaming site and had his secutiry settings too low and got a dailer signed and installed.

I'm not really sure what you can do legally. But for the computer remove any suspisoucs programs from the computer.
