either that or something happened to the agp card ,go to add remove program and uninstall any thing[software] agp card related if there ,use a program called ccleaner to ceanup regirtry[and clean computer of unnecessary temp file and cookies ] it should find and remove agp card references ,then try adding the Agp card again and see if it works ,if so reinstall drivers for it

I have the same problem. I accidentally deleted my pchealth folder
with an un-install program. I copied the folder from another computer
but the help and support will not open. I went through the registry everything seems fine, services are started and on auto. I do not get any error message, the hr glass turns a few times and nothing happens. I tried running it from the inside the folder, from start run
but no results. If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated, I don't have a cd for winxp

WOW ,cant believe you did it first ,then looked for drivers ,or if there was drivers for xp/2000 , most new laptops don't ,as suggested above you were suppose to created restore dvd's when you first booted comp, or at least before you formatted it .contact HP for recovery DVD's

hi, go to start/run / type in, msconfig , go to startup tab ,look for it in there ,if you find it un check and reboot computer

did you install your video drivers after the new windows install

monitor wont work. if lightning hits video, could video card have a short or something?ks

you should be able to pick where to unpack the files ,click on the browse button[when it shows the chosen default path ] when upacking file and direct it to the mydocuments folder .

I can't because as with every fresh install of Windows XP there is no LAN driver installed. I am dl'ing to my other pc and transfering with a flash drive to the pc missing all the drivers.

sure ,sorry ,are you copying the file's to the computer from the flash drive first ,and then trying to run the setup .

have you tried going to IE,windows updates , do a custom search ,not express ,and see if it shows any hardware drives

and on the other acer sites it brings up xp drivers for a M5620 notebook computer.

so you computer is a desktop /tower correct .like this one .

one important fact missing from post #4 ,you will loose everything on the hard drive when you do a factory restore !so backup you pictures and music .ect ect first

hi,with recovery dvd's. you should have been giver or created them yourself when you first go the laptop
what brand name and model # is your laptop
what windows version do you run ,how old is it !

as stated already ,the beta version will expire June 2010,it will start shutting down every 2 hrs in April 2010 so really not much sense install it as a main OS on your main computers hard drive ,but if you wanted to play with it you could always add a second hard drive and install it on that ! and try it out

how ever you stror it ,remember make sure to back them up to dvd or cd ,you cant rely on your hard drive

all i can say is its only beta ,and not meant to be you main OS yet ,unless you want to have to find drivers for this and drivers for that , I installed it on a second computer i have and no drivers for my video, my usb wireless device and a few more ,like what it did other wise though ,

I got the new installation on the new hard drive fine. I washed the installation disc and that seemed to really help. But, now that all the files are loaded on it and its fully updated thru Microsoft, every now and then I get the B S O D.
How do I look into the "records" and see what causes the B S O D ?

you can set photo shop to use less ram when in use , open ps ,go to edit/preferences /memory and image cache,in the amount of ram ps uses [default 50%],click and drag it to about 25%, might help a bit when multi tasking

I have a Compaq Presario 2100 and everything is plugged into place and I push the power button and nothing happens, it wont turn on at all, no matter how many times i push the button or how long i push it for, nothing helps, what do you think that problem would be? try booting into safe mode and deleting them maybe .
safe mode= hitting f8 key on bootup

also ccleaner may deleted them

and then which is the folder i'm supposed to direct the install to?

the folder where you put the drivers when you downloaded them/or if a zip file where you unzipped them to ,basic computing

guys i've done what you've said, downloaded the driver for my card(which is a riva tnt model 64), but when i try to install the driver it says that the drivers suitable for my hardware cannot cannot be found!!! :S:S:S

hi, that messageg usually indicated you have the wrong driver or you didn't direct the install to the correct folder with the drivers in it !

It is true that you can do heroic measures to get Windows functioning again. I don't disagree with that. What I disagree with is how well it will function after that. How stable will it be? He states there are multiple trojans on his PC and that to me says no matter how hard you fight you will end up with an unstable operating system. If you are super good maybe you could do it but if you're a rookie I seriously doubt you can remove them all and have a stable OS. So instead of spending hours upon hours trying to remove something that may or may not leave your system unstable just back-up and reinstall. Save time and frustration. Just my opinion and we all know what opinions are like!

I agree , i have been using malwarebytes and other programs like hijackthis and many more with great success for about 7or8 yrs now fixing computers !the time has come for me anyhow! to give up and just backup and reload customers computers !

Hi, I would first boot to your windows cd and go to R for repait ,at the prompt type in" chkdsk /r" with out the quotes and there is a space between the K and /

did you check event viewer for system errors in control panel,management tools

then what do i do after that

double click any errors that correspond with the time of your crash , bsod [blue screen of death] stop error and read in the info you should find the error code and microsoft link that could shed some lite on you problem

you could have a bad harddrive ,go to hdd the manufacturers web site and get a hdd utility and burn it to disk and boot to it and do the full scan

Interesting stuff happening here. Yesterday i took the RAM out and placed it in the "faulty" slots again, ran memtest and got zero errors.

never mad a good connection the last time ,i use a white [lead pencil] eraser to clean ram connections

hi given its age maybe its motherboard died too,
had a newer Toshiba doing similar ,change cpu/ram /hardrive /and did a bunch more troubleshooting and came to conclusion that the motherboard was bad and threw it away !

did you try anything yet ,like removing the ram and or harddrive to see if it would boot ,remove battery and try a boot with just the power supply
