did you check device manager to make sure the game port drivers were install when you installed the soundcard

Get and run spybot and or ad-aware ,a search of that file showes it as a parasite variant

I have a service customer some of whose problems can be traced to a bootleg Windows XP Pro install.

If the bootleged copy is the root of the problem then why would you want to keep it ,and just change the key and activation . I don't think what you want to do is possiable ,but it might be !

You have 98 and its upgradeable to win98 SE,
Office XP is not reallymeant for win98 !!
You don't need the upgrade to install win98 full versions there is a trick .Restart windows with the win98 bootdisk,at the a:\ prompt type REN C:\windows\win.com win.old ,there is a space between win.com and win.old
Then type, Setup and install win98se over win98,you will be aked if you want to install to c:\windows000 ,say no and then rempove the 3 ,zers so that it overwrites win98

the XP HOME FULL and XP HOME UPGRADE are the same disk with atad differnt requirements

You can actuall use the upgrade for a fresh install you just need the win 98 or ME disk and put it in the cdrom when the XP install asks for it !

Well the next thing to do is try the monitor on another computer,perhaps you have a friend with a computer who could help you out !.

no need to reload windows to get rid of kazaa ,just use ad-aware or spybot to remove the Clint.dill and all the other spyware ,and then replace the clint .dll with the one on this site .Or look for Kazaa begone and then install Kazaa lite .

You most likely have a browser hijack .You need Spyware removing software like Spybot and Ad-aware,they are free downloads .After installing and before scanning be sure to update them both .

If you didn't disable system restor when you removed it and installed the patch ,the next time you do a system restore it will return!

The desktop icons !! right click on the desktop ,click on arrange icons by,and make sure auto arrange isn't checked.

A lot of things could be causing this ,try process of elimination,open case ,remove all addin cards except video ,diss connect cd drives and floppy ,unplug mouse and keyboard and boot computer keep adding things back in /

you need video drives not monitor drivers .

Reg /restore only save the last 5 days ,so if you shut down and restart you computer everyday since last week you would not have a good reg /restore saved .

have you tried using windows messenger instead

if you know dos commands you could rename it boot.old and if it doesent boot up you could use a win98 boot disk and rename it back to boot.ini.

I have a knoppix disk that I boot to and run from the CD ,I haven't played with it that much ,no time ,was wondering can this same cd install on hard drive .

I install winzip and made a zip file of the dummy clint and it let me attach it here .
NOTE: this file is for the older full Kazaa ,you run ad-aware or spybot and it will remove the clint .dll spyware . and make Kazaa un useable ,then just on zip this file and copy it to the Kazaa folder .

Here's what i would try ,boot in safe mode ,go to start/run and type in regedit, and go to this reg key ,This is where the commands for everything that is set to run when windows starts is stored .

and look for the MSBlast.exe or something that looks out of place !!If its there delete its key .Don't for get to backup the registry before you delete any thing .to backup go, file /export

No I havn't ,i use the image drive of Alcohol120% burning software .

Are you trying to flash your bios or install a hard drive
