this is what i do ,i find it best to create a folder[call it aadownloads so its first in the list, easier to find ] in the mydocuments folder ,create a shortcut on the desktop to it !
edit firefox to download to the aadownloads folder .simple as that .
to edit firefox just go tools/options/main/ in download area ,browse and direct it to the aadownloads folder in mydocs .

As far as it only registering the 960 instead of a full gig is quite common. Sharing ram with a video card, etc. will show a smaller amount of "ready" ram. Don't worry about that, it is normal-but I am not quite sure why it will not allow you to use 2-1gig cards...Are they DDr? and if they are are they 1,2, or 3? Let us know how it goes!

that is true, for sure ,but the way i read it he had the 512 & the 1 gig in when it says 960 ,i think 552 is a bit much for shared video .
can see the bios being set to that giving that he only had 512 meg in to begin with .I have see where one chip would cancel out the other ,because they didn't match ,but usually the other way round to his problem

Welcome to Daniweb! You probably have some kind of infection. I suggest you download and run MalWareBytes from here:

http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html

You can then go to our forum Virus, Spyware and other Nasties and read the sticky posts for help in getting rid of most bugs, if MalWareBytes does not fix the issue. There are some gurus over there that can help if you can't get it done...

should alwas include the use instruction when posting the link for malwarebytes .
* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure to checkmark the Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad.
post the log back here

When someone manually configures a computer to use the same IP address each time it powers up, this is known as a Static IP address. In contrast, in situations when the computer's IP address is assigned automatically, it is known as a Dynamic IP address.

Hello , I usually use a test computer for ram with no ident marks on them .and i use a working computer with windows installed and i use a great little program called ,CPU-z,it will show cpu/motherboard /ram http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php
google will show pictures of the different ram .PC100/133 sdram look the same
http://images.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=http://www.upgradecomputermemory.com/images/products/large/64MB-168pin-Major-INF-B.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.upgradecomputermemory.com/ram.cfm//memorytypes/PC133-SDRAM-Memory/PC133-SDRAM-Desktop--Server-Memory/64MB-PC133-SDRAM-Memory.html&h=300&w=300&sz=22&hl=en&start=2&um=1&usg=__QrMuvzV-WyoJ7808QFK4iywYiwM=&tbnid=tyOPCyrZEzIAwM:&tbnh=116&tbnw=116&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dpc133%2Bsdram%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26sa%3DN
ddr sdram comes in many different speed like ,older to newer. in order
pc1600/1700/2100/2700/3200/
and then somewhere around there it goes to ddr2,then ddr3 biggest difference in the ddr and ddr2 is the different space between the slots /more pins
The biggest difference in sdram and ddr sdram is the 2 slots in sdram and 1 slot ddr sdram

I am attempting to put the finishing touches on a powerful multimedia and gaming desktop I've put together from bits and pieces I've collected from a variety of sources. Everything seems to have come together nicely, with few exceptions. However, when I am running particularly demanding programs (games, specifically), I often encounter a crash in which the computer, without having an error message of any type, stops sending data to the monitor. The tower is still fully powered, and would appear to be working as expected.

good job!

Having asked a few friends about the situation, some have suggested that the problem may be the power supply. In their opinion, the power supply cannot handle the workload I've placed upon it.

what size psu do you have in it .

Another friend suggested that it may be the video card. I'm currently operating with an NVIDIA GeForce 7600GT. He made this suggestion based on past experience with other video cards. In his experience, video cards commonly have a seperate input for a power supply, whereas this one pulls directly through the motherboard. I disagreed, because I feel it is unlikely for NVIDIA to produce a card with the capabilities of this one without providing a powerful-enough supply of energy to utilize it.

so did you have to plug a connector from the psu to the card when install it .

if this is same card as yours you can see extra plug at the back of the …

Well, I actually forgot to comment on that but I will now. Having worked in the retail side, I've seen people charge for a reload when it was not neccessary. The placed I worked for would even charge for a reload and perform a reload just to get rid of spyware that could have easily been removed without a reload. They charge $100 for a reload of a system. This was one of the many "bad" practices in the retail industry I disapproved of and was a major reason for me leaving. You are going to have people that will either charge to do something unneccessary to fix an issue because they get more money that way, or people that really don't know what they are doing or cannot think outside of the box. In this case, it sounds like the original tech that reloaded the system really ripped them off. You would be surprised how many customers now call me to do little things on the weekends for them because they refuse to go to the retail establishment I used to work at for lack of service or poor service.

*name of retail establishment not revealed to protect the guilty*

yes I agree with this guy, please use the correct words/proofread your posts and/or know what you are talking about.

also I dont think there is a fan in my harddrive, ive worked with them enough to know that mine doesnt have one, and ive never heard of a hardrive having one in the first place. anyways, do you think im just getting an incorrect reading from the sensor? cuz 72 degrees Celsius seems impossible, considering I should just about have a fire going on at that point

yes that is high for sure ,if you have 5 sensors on the motherboard then i would think you should be checking it with the software that may have came with the board, may be on motherboard disk , or in the BIOS, boot computer check it with speedfan ,if its showing high, reboot computer and go into setup/bios and check in the pc health section or hardware monitor section, for temps of all the sensors/ .

I installed the software on 2 computer and it does show hdd temps one is 31c anf the other is 32c,

edit: i just check my bios, hardware monitor section and the 31 c was motherboard temp.there was no temp section that was for hdd.in mine anyway .this maybe the reason you get lower temp when pointing the fan at the cpu or other end of computer because its cooling the motherboard .so the 72 may not be the hdd, anyway what ever it …
