Reformat is always the last resort and I am not sure whether the OP would want to do that either.
Agree but very troublesome, after you reinstall you have to restore your backup data and change whatever settings you want to change.
System user is the person that first buys the computer and register with it and create an account. He could then create a lot of other accounts and give them administrative rights. The administrative account have most privileges but not as much as the system user.
@ caperjack
Nice obeservation. Everyone was busy helping out that they miss that point.
Besides that, I think there is something wrong with " No mountable boot devide" error message. This error usually happens on a Mac OS/OS X machine. Does it happen on Windows machine too or just toshiba netbooks. I have never encounter this problem before and the most common one error similar to the OP is " Unmountable Boot Volume"
Have any one come across such message as the OP? Just clarifying, after all this is the first problem daniweb has seen it so many years...
Thanks for the specs but the problem is very broad and it will be very difficult to actually diagnose the source and help you. Try taking to a repair shop and have an expert to closely look at your problem. Sorry for not being able to help you
The same thing happen on my father's laptop now long ago. I ran malwarebytes and the problem is solved. Till now I am not sure what just happened but you can give it a try.
There are many answers to you questions and I can't tell you all of them. But I give you the link to you for to take a look.
1) you can always do use Traceroute to check but alternatively there is a software to help you called WinMTR.
4) what do you mean. Do you mean by slow internet connection. That question is a very broad one and in order to provide you with more answers we need more details.
I doubt your system is cleaned or maybe there are some after steps you have to do after deleting a virus. Go to this forum and create a new thread

There are virus fixing experts there who might be able to help you out. Good luck:)
Although I know you are spamming your links, I still agree to help you.Does your Runtime Error occured when you are using Internet Explorer because that's happen in most cases. Can you also tell me what is the runtime error number?
What PC are you using and what is the model number? Are you good with PC, if not I suggest taking your computer to have an expert to look at it, your problem is very broad and there are many reasons that can cause a black screen.
holy crap, every one should chill out. Seriously, this is a 5 year old thread I started when I was young and dumb. I remember that job and it was an unpaid internship. During down times, my coworker and I would try to mess with each other. That was a crap long time ago.
Holy crap you're back:D. I agree let's just allow this thread to R.I.P
Seems like there are something wrong with your Ram.
You are kidding me...
You are welcome, hope you enjoy your stay here:)
Welcome, do heed the Moderators's advice. Hehe:D
Welcome to daniweb, Anthony. Hope you enjoy your stay here:)
Your hard disk is not getting detected. Maybe you accidentally change your startup disk. You have to get an install disk and try booting it up and see whether that works.
See this. Scroll down until you see something like Moving Pictures Experts Group (.mpg, .mpeg, .m1v, .mp2, .mp3, .mpa, .mpe, .mpv2, .m3u). Read the whole thing
IE is classic, Opera is lightweight and has nice layout and design. Chrome and firefox are just what they are...:D
After Steve Jobs died, i know that technology can change the world.
You are welcome, do mark this thread as solved.
Can you tell me what is the beep sounds you heard?
How old is your hard drive, it might crash soon.
When using a mouse does it work? Based on the modem stick and flash disk, nothing can still be concluded. When you said not functioning, does the flash disk get detected in my computer but you are unable to use it?
Do mark this thread as solved. Thanks
Plug in when you want to backup your data to that hard drive using Time Machine, if not in use just plug it out. There are no pros but the cons is that your hard drive may get corrupted easily.
No difference as seen in this link. I would recommend the Free Agent Goflex as a better choice.
Last resort try formatting your hard disk.
Playing Savage 2: Tortured Soul now. Excellent game for those using Mac.
So what you are trying to find out now if whether mac has viruses, right? The answer can be yes or no depends on how you believe it. There are viruses that infects mac circulating around the web and the chance of getting one is so rare that people don't believe that these virus out there.
Try using Sophos Antivirus Free For Mac. It is able to detect both windows and mac viruses much better than Norton and the virus definitions are update daily.

Goodbye Steve Jobs.
Thanks for the suggestion and hope we meet again:)
Don't care, doesn't matter. The OP will not be returning...
Does you applications works perfectly if yes try this last resort. If that does not work, I am afriad I can no longer help you.

First of all what do you mean when you cannot open a file in new tab? Can you explain and give me some examples, perhaps?
Installer will open automatically when you double click on a .pkg file. Can you tell me what file types you see in the dmg. .zip or .pkg?
Have you tested it and see whether it run perfectly fine on a Mac OSX Snow Leopard or Lion. If no, try taking a look at this first

You app must be able to work in Mac OSX to continue the rest of the steps.
so what did you do? The solution you use might help other members next time when they have a similar problem like yours.
Have you seen an example of a software using installer before, if no then i do not encourage you to use an installer, You can just drag the app inside the dmg and if people want to install it on their computer, they can simply drag it to their applications folder.
What is you app filename extension. .app or what?
According to my knowledge,Google provides relevant information for your search.I think 90 percent of internet users use Google as the best browser.
From what I think, more than 90% of your points are wrong. lol
Just to add in case you are " really viewing " this thread. The router control panel is your router IP address. username and password is usually admin for both.
It have to depend on what country are you from and where are you flying to? Some airplanes do have internet service but are only limited to a few countries.
Mac can get virus but is very rare, there are hardly any virus for mac just little trojan or worms here and there. As Apple get more popular, hacker will soon buy a macbook and start exploiting it and soon there will be thousands of mac viruses in a couple of months or a year.
Ok, back to your case. What OS is your friend using? When you plug in the flash drive into your friend PC, it says there is a virus, right? What is the name of the virus?
i need to know some things
1) What is your mac OS version?
2) What is your Norton antivirus version
Download Avsat and scan the flsah drive again when it is plug in to your mac.
Is the application big if yes you might want to add an installer in the dmg file. What do you when you said what you should put in the dmg file.A dmg file basically has nothing inside, only the software installer. The rest like the resources ( see image below ) should be in the app package contents.
Cheers:) Good to know that your internet is back to normal. Bye and see you again. Please consider marking this thread as solved too;)
What cwarn said is just clearing the prefetch folder but btw its still a good trick:)
@ Crunchie
Thank the person who revive it;)
