Do you have a USB keyboard? Did you spill any liquid on the keyboard before?
Then try this. It is still an alienware laptop but just different model and this time is way under your budget;)
@ crunchie
My mistake, I accidentally type 2011.
If you check the benchmarks, the Intel one rank more superior compare to the AMD. Most people know that Intel processor are better in game graphics. Second thing, no one compare processors by the number of cores. From the OP requirements, an Intel core would suit him fine unless he do video converting or multitasking all the time. Adobe CS5 will work well on an Intel core so is not the processor fault.
I also did pointed out that the AMD is cheaper which is what the OP wanted. Did you recommend AMD processor because you are using one now?
Original poster have not replied back for a long time in case you haven't notice that...
Maybe some random member of that forum trying to promote in here on daniweb.
When you say BF3 do you mean battlefield 3 and BC2 as in battlefield: Bad Company 2? Is your sound driver the latest update?
Instead of getting another graphics card why not test it on other computers. Are you sure it is compatible?
When does this problem starts to happen? Can you do a system restore or repair your system with the installation disk.
Can you tell me more about the 3 beeps you heard?
The Intel core i3 2011 is better. It you are tight on budget, choose the AMD Phenom II X4 955 if not the i3 would be better in gaming performance.
What do you mean when you press the rams and where does the noise come from?
Did you check thoroughly to see whether there are not any loose cables. If you can get a spare monitor and not a spare desktop.
@rakibtg
You could do what caperjack suggested but if your hard disk crashed, shouldn't you get a new one?
Do you have an external DVD drive or can you get one and try inserting a cd again?
Can you tell me what modem are you using and router if you are using one?
Take a look at the Alienware laptop below. It is close to your budget and have everything a professional gaming laptop has.
Welcome and hope you have a nice stay here
Welcome to daniweb:)
Best of luck and if that does not work, you can either stick to using an external monitor or get a new laptop since the Compaq Presario C500 is quite an old model.
when did this problem happen? In your thread title, you said other accounts are affected as well, so I assume you are unable to log it to your computer. Am I right?
Try these steps
1) Boot up your computer in safe mode
2)Do a system restore back to the time this problem did not occur.
Why won't it install? After you uninstall, did you install back the latest version of itunes or the old version you used?
riddle me this , if it shows on an external monitor ,how could it be a video card problem ,sounds more like a bad lcd[cable/plug] connection to the motherboard problem to me ,did the new lcd screen you bought come with its own connection or are you using the original cable
Lol. Half of your post is repeating mine.
Stop posting in thread that has not been replied for a long time. How many times must I say. There is no such thing as cooler fan only cooler!
Never mind, I like people with a sense of curiosity:)
Do marked this thread as solved, thanks.
What do you mean by erratically? Very fast or random. If it is very fast, you could have accidentally change the tracking speed for the mouse and trackpad to fast. Not sure whether this could have cause by a malware but no harm checking. Do a scan with malwarebytes and see whether that helps.
Besides that, try checking whether your wifi switch is turn on, it is usually located at the side of a laptop. Does using a cable work and can other PC or laptop connect to the internet via wireless?
Try create a new account and give it administrative rights. See whether that works, if yes something is wrong with your current admin account.
Teamviewer for me top;)
Might be some loose connection to the screen. You can't really say it is a board problem unless the graphics card is integrated with the board. You might want to take it to a technician if not you can just use an external monitor.
I needed the model number to check the drivers and search the internet whether this model of hard drive has this error, if yes that means it is common and the manufacturer should do something about it.
Your hard drive is fauly, follow caperjack's advice.
1) Go to sound in the control panel
2) Right click on any drivers and select Show Disabled Devices” and Show Disconnected Devices
4) Next find the recording tab, you should be able to see Stereo Mix there. Right click on stereo mix and select enable.
All should work well for you, good luck:)
Does other websites have other problem? Make sure no firewall or other security software usually third party firewall and antivirus are not blocking the website. You might want to check your proxy server.
Can you access the website through its IP address? If you need more help just post.
If you have a spare monitor, you can test it out to see whether the PC's monitor is the one having problem.
Some parts in the old router might be failing thus causing the problem. Glad that your problem is solved:)
What caperjack said might be close. Some part in the router might be breaking down and you probably need a new one. You can try borrowing a router from someone to test it out whether your router is having problems.
Try using a different power adapter and start up again. When you press the power button did you hear any sound or there is totally nothing not even a single word on the screen as well?
I want the model number not the serial number, western digital is a brand.
@ Order23
The trick allows one to log in as system user and many people will assume that account have the higher privileges. But that's true, a system user rules, what most people don't know is that the first account created on the PC or laptop have the same privileges as the system user. Most people just do not know how to access this privileges.
Is there any beep codes?
What router and modem are you using? It can also be some parts in the router that is going faulty. Disconnect your modem from the router and try connecting to the modem using the ethernet cable for two days. See whether your problem occur if not that means your router is having a problem.
Do you mean you can't charge your laptop or what?
