Is this XP? You need to install the SATA drivers (See "Press F6") during the install process. http://www.mysuperpc.com/build/pc_sata_install_windows_operating_system.shtml

You haven't given us any useful info . What OS? What kind of connection? What computer? Any error messages? There's no "bug" that causes this, but viruses and spyware may be at fault.

Did you update the SATA driver from windows update? Sometimes these drivers are bad. In Devcie manager you'll see an option to "Roll back" the driver, which may help. System restore may help. Is this a RAID setup? Is the SATA controller enabled in the BIOS? \There's no "slave" designation …

There's something wrong with the CD you burned. Did you burn it as an image or an ISO? In any case, try it again.

Well, your AV has probably failed you. Lime wire is a known source if all the nasties on the internet. Look in device manager and see if the drivers for your audio device are installed. What AV are you using? Get a new one, and do a Spyware scan also.

Check all the PS connections. Remove the power plug from the computer. Press and hold the power switch for 10-15 seconds. Replug and try starting again. If that doesn't work, you need to check the PS with a PS tester: http://search.pricewatch.com/power_supply_for_case/tester-0.htm Any shop should be willing to do this, and …

Get an external drive and backup to CD/DVD as often as is prudent. This is a good program, and there are many more. http://backup.comodo.com/ For critical needs such as yours, it would be wise to get a pro to help with the initial setup.

If this isn't a hardware problem, it might be interference. Microwaves, portable phones and others can cause this. I'd start by changing the wireless channel, which you can access through the router's setup page.

Most likely, you need to reboot the modem when you switch connections. It's perfectly safe to use a router and connect both computers at once, which is what most people do.

Typically, this would be a problem with overheating, bad memory or some other hardware failure. Does your fan work? Try re-seating the memory or the hard drive. Unplug any peripherals you may have attached.

I think you're just asking for trouble-if you hijack someone's desktop, you're probably going to get lots of tech support calls asking how to get rid of it. Why not just an image with your logo and site URL like most manufacturers.

What do the diagnostic lights say? I'd bet you have a good chance of fixing this by opening the case and re-seating all the components (Especially the video card).

The additional wireless PC won't conflict with the existing one. That's what routers are for.

HP includes XP in the FAQ for this machine, so you're probably OK. Last time I looked, the XP upgrade was $89.00 (If you can find it) and RAM is cheap nowadays-get at least 512 MB.

In most cases you'll have no problem with drivers when installing 64 bit windows. You may have to search for some drivers for peripherals, but this has never been a major problem for me. 64 bit support is much improved from even a year ago.
