reinstall ie7, or see if you can either disable or not use system mechanic pro with ie7. Also, get firefox or opera 9.25, as an alternative browser, as ie7 can get buggy some times.

openoffice, go to openoffice.org and download. cheap, reliable, and resource friendly, or virtually any other Microsoft office 97 or above, and you can run a custom installation and uncheck MS access if you don't want it.

I recently heard that comcast is limiting bandwidth usage to 250gb/month and other isp's could go as low as 5gb/month. I was looking online for bandwidth usage monitors, to see how much internet bandwidth i was using, but all of them are complicated and not what i was looking for. …

definitely overheating, buy a chill pad for your notebook, and remember not to use the notebook on your lap, but on a hard, flat surface only. Make sure that the fans are not clogged with dust. If they are, use a can of compressed air to clean them out.

find a password cracking software on the internet and use it to crack your password, then change your password and save it on the side so you don't forget it again.

In my opinion, Vista is a great OS, with many new features. People say it's slow, buggy, etc. because they don't "feed" it the right way. Vista is a hungry OS, but if you feed it, it will run like a rocket. Here are the goods of Vista: 1. Revamped …

I know this is old, but why care about 2 gigs of disk space for whatever, when you have a large hard drive with lots of space left? Common sense people, maybe these two gigs are needed.

55*C is not normal for startup temps of the video card, so that's why it's speeding up. As long as you can play games without hitting 85-95*C you'll be fine. Spray the computer with compressed air to make sure that dust isn't accumulating in the fans of your processor and …

If this windows install has been active for over a year I think it's time for a windows reinstall. You could try restoring to a previous system restore point

Plug in an external monitor and see if it'll output anything. If the new monitor works, your laptop's screen is dead. If the external monitor doesn't work, well, ur screwed (video card or other major hardware issue)

According to the specs: If you have the integrated video card version, you can't take advantage of the full resolution of the 22inch. If you have the one with the discrete video card (ati), you can easily use the new monitor!

88*C is extremely hot!! You should not be going past 75*C on a desktop cpu, preferably not higher than 60*C. Something is wrong with the liquid cooling system. The temperatures are going really high then the system shuts down to prevent your processor from overheating. I recommend replacing the liquid …

Now that ddr3 is out on the market, system builders will have to make an extra decision on what type of ram to buy. ddr2 is mainstream and very cheap (about 10.00/GB for pc2-4200), but ddr3 is super packed with performance, but is very expensive (175.00/GB for pc2-13333). I personally …

Is there a noticeable difference between pci-e 1.0 and pci-e 2.0? Or is it just hype from the manufacturers. Also, can i put a 1.0 card in a 2.0 slot, and vice versa? Thanks for your help.

just don't bother if it won't install as it may accidentally mess up ur vista MBR and cause more trouble. If u still want to, remove vista, install xp FIRST, then INSTALL VISTA SECOND, as vista's boot manager isn't backwards compatible with xp.
