im no expert but im sure its because [i dont thing changing cluster size on a active hdd is somethink that shoud/can be done ] you change the cluster size, is somethin that reccomended ,but i could be wrong ,and maybe i should do some re-search on it to see .
quick research sows people doing it so i quess its possible ,mind you everything i read is people having problems with it

wish i knew ,my wifes laptop did the same thing and i cant find the cause ,and i took it totally apart to try and find the problem .i have seen many laptops do this in my years of repairing [self taught so not to techinal ] computer, and for the most part i think its caused by over heated chips on the motherboard and cost more to fix than they are worth

if you re-instaslled a fresh copy of winxp i don't think its a windows update ,i would first get a ISO of memtest86 memtest iso for windows and burn to a bootable disk and scan for ram error
you may need a third party iso burning software to make the bootable disk,i useto use imageburn when i had winxp computer .imageburn good luck

not true [it maybe quicker ,if you don't count the time to reinstall all program back on the computer ] ,i have cleaned many computer of nasties over the years without a format and re-load ,will not further ill-affects .

hi, i use Ccleaner program Ccleaner download to clean deleted file and temp files from my computer .
or whn you are deleting file if you hold in the shift key and right click to deleted the files it will give option to remove from hdd and not send to trash bin .

so you hooke you monitor to your frieds computer and it worked ,so we know it not you monitor .

so it eithor you video device is not working ,or your compurt is not fully working and is not booting to display .
first you need to check if the video device in your computer is [intergrated ] built into the motherboard .or if it a addin device ,in a slot into the motherboard .

not a lot of info ,but i will add a few things anyway ,when running ,make sure it sits on a hard surface ,try cleaning the fan and heatsinc of dust ,or it could be more serisous ,like a bad video chip overheating ,and that will require more work than can be done on a help forum ,good luck

win8 has windows defender installed as default ,its all i have been using since last August and it stopped everything that tried to get in .so far

sounds like being slightly droped has damaged the harddrive

Internet software has out grown winxp ,just install IE9 on it and you'll see what i mean ,just did a fresh install of winxp pro on a dell latitude d800 laptop about 7 or 8 years old[looks just like new ] i think and it works great ,but i wqill not go higher than IE8.just saying

this is what i do ,when i can use it plugged in i do, when i cant plug it in i use the battery ,dosnt heat to0 do it this way ,when plugged in and the battery is fully charged it stops charging ,so no damage is done ,really

I'm guessing this means that the usb part of the device isnt connected to the chip of the device?

if this is so then you would need to break apart the device and see if you can solder broken connection if there is one

if it was a bios password that you created then you should be able to remove the bios battery for a while then replace it to remove the password ,or if its a desktop then there is usuall jumpers to switch to set bios to defaults

mbam is messep up with my patch.. it also detect that patch and crack is a virus..

Hi, if its a brand name tower,what is the make and model number of the tower.
it may not have a factory restore partition on the harddrive

i have a dock simular to the one in the link ,i like it better than a enclosure as i work on other peoples hdd and not having to take a external enclosure apart all the time to put the customers hdd into it to work on it , ,but i have enclosures with hdd in them for file storage ,I would reccomend a new enclosure if you want to take the drive with you .safer less chance of damaging the hdd when traveling/storing or just moving about ,with the hard drive
