Tried that and the same error came up.

OK,anything else you tried before i suggest something else you already done

start with this ,
press f8 during startup before the winlogo comes up, and choose "last configuration that worked"

It should just booty and open right up as if you had a normal external hdd you bought.

Hello, its a dvd rom not a HDD

ok well it turns out that my computer has deeper problems then i thought, the program said that there was no disk drive to be found meaning that the disk drive is some how disconnected inside of my laptop and seeing as i don't want to take it apart to fix it i will just have to make due without it thank you anyways

yest best left alone or to the professionals ,external ones are relatively cheap,good luck

not sure ,but try unplugging it from the surge bar ,hold the on button in for a minute ,plug it back in to try turning it on a again,
it didn't need to be turned on to get a surge of power ,just plugged in

hi, not sure if this is a fix but worth a try ,
open IE ,go to tools /internet options /advanced ,and in there reset IE settings .

also you could try unplugging your router from the power source for a few minutes ,then plug it back in .

my suggestion is to go safe mode with networking ,download updated drivers for your video
then uninstall you video device drivers in safe mode ,boot to regular mode if it boots ok ,then install you new updated drivers

im running win7 ultimate ,on a compaq v2000 with 1 gig ram and a amd sempron single core cpu and it runs very well ,just as quick as the laptop did with winxp and 512 meg of ram

Actually this is a notebook in my company left by a Analyst Programmer.
I know we will use Java and eclipse, I know we will use MSSQL 2005, Office of course.

But I don't know if anyone will use the whole bunch of MSSQL 2008, and I doubt it can still work. It is so messy.

First install using windows xp and see whether the sound is active or not, if the first step doesn't work, try step 2, use sound card as an alternative. if the first step is working, it means the hardware is no problem but the software. hopefully useful, thanks :)

No problem with Anu Script Manager executable file. Why because of i was tried to install in XP, it's working in it. it's located in HDD only. I am using Genuine VISTA with licence.

its been my experience anyway that there should get no errors when chosing winxp in compatibility mode .the program should install and if it not going to work right then it should give you the errors ,have you tried installing in safe mode ,sorry i cant add any other ideas

well, i have this little widget that says how much of what is being used and it says i only have 2gb so i looked in my BIOS and it says i have 4gb but only 2.45gb available... and when i click on my comp it says 4gb

ok, i don't really need to know the widget.
windows boots and open services and programs like anti virus tool and much more like if you have onboard video device it will be using some of the 4gig , this all takes ram my guess it the widget is telling you how much is available after windows and all program are loaded .

not 100% what you mean ,but will assume you mean will win7 have drivers for you devices ,answer is yes if the device maker has a win7 driver out for the device .
you can't upgrade from winxp to win7 so you will have to wipe/formatt winxp off the harddrive first then install win7

yeah ,if techsupport is right you would need the motherboards sata device drivers on a FLOPPY TO INSTALL WHEN HITTING F6 ,I ACTUALLY CANT REMEMBER IF WIN7 GIVES THE F6 OPTION WHEN INSTALLING sorry for the caps ,hit the wrong key ,and im to tired to type it all over .lol

i recently installed win7 on my old Dell workstation with a scsi drive and it never blinked an eye in regard to drivers for the 8 year old scsi device

Yes indeed. Not all the times but in situations like these yes and it's not really drivers for Windows 7 it's for the SSD drives. Most often you have to obtain the controller drivers from the system manufacturer's website.

You may need the F6 drivers. You should see this during the install at the bottom of the screen when shortly after you put in your installation CD. If not then you will have to go to the manufacturer of your computer or motherboard for these additional drivers. Usually called pre installation drivers.

hi,no is my answer ,im just making an assumption base what knowledge i have of computers ,simple answer is that this will not work ,because video device and drivers are part of windows ,so windows has a limit of 3GB of usable RAM, so i don't see how it could access and use the rest of the 4gig if it has a limit as to how much it can access !

winxp usually installs a real/true admin acct [ some brand name computers like Dell and otheres didn't do this ]that can be accesed by hitting f8 on bootup and going into safe mode ,chose admin acct ,try uninstalling avg from there ,,may not work because a windows install/uninstall service not running in safe mode ,but worth a try

that ready boots it will use the drive as ram,[not storage or install win7 ] ,what its really meant for is using a thumb drive as ram on older computers running vista or win7 with limited space for ram.

i dont know why it shows in bios, and in my computer but not when it wants me to install the windows,

nor do i ,but i just read where they suggest one ,goes to the manufactures website and check for a firm wear update before trying to install win7 the story was a little dated thought some time late 2009

so with the 1TB out the windows disk still doesn't see the drive to install to it .wonder if solid state drives comes formatted and ready to go ,some platter sata drive came unformated and need to be formatted before some computer could see the drive ,.
when running you 1tb and the SSD hooked up does windows disk manger see the drive and show it as formatted ,or dose it show it at all ,if it shows it and its not formatted right click on it and format it ,and try install again

have got a new 2nd hand tower[optima].there are no pragrammes on it[was used in an office]
everything was wiped.I have an operating system ;reinstallation cd'[[dell]] will this load xp onto it

one way to find out would be to put it in the cdrom drive and boot up the computer ,you may need to make sure that cdrom drive is set to first boot in the bios or hit f12 on boot to chose the cdrom to boot from .

I backup customers file all the time before a format and reload of windows ,i find it best to copy small amounts at a time to my backup drive , i usually go ,my-document's folder first ,then music and pictures ,and also IE favorites and email if they are not using a webbased email program ,and sometimes saved games folder if required .
