ftp is pretty simple. for large transfers under windows bulletproofFTP seems to be the best. you can download it from the offsite and use it free for 30 days (should be enough for the transfer)

don't know about CA, but where I'm from, it is normal for employers to hire experienced people for programming jobs, while new graduates are taken in on entry level positions like QA/QC, until they learn the company specifics and can advance to DEV

1. don't use WEP - it's too weak. go for WPA. 2. block his MAC in the router. 3. spoof his MAC (aka arp poisoning attack) to get his info redirected to you

do you see the windows logo at all? if you do, and it restarts after showing the logo try f8 during post and choose last known good. otherwise disconnect all your peripherals, especially usb devices and try to reboot

looks like mesh wireless isn't well implemented in general yet - some proprietary solutions, no real standards. just choose a protocol and work along it - read the rfc. in any case windows (especially home edition) wouldn't help you out much, look for linux distros with the protocols built in …

on every computer, laptop or not, add the same user with the same password. when connecting, use that user/passwd. it works on xppro, home is much worse, networkwise, but it should work as well

seems like you're not getting an IP address from the router's DHCP. either reconfigure the router or set you'r computer up with a static IP that fits the network you want to access

try to connect it as standalone, just to see if the computer picks it up without interference. disconnect everything - sata and opticals, connect to both ide bays if that doesn't help - replace the hdd
