I have a Hp Compaq laptop and last night I shut it down before going to bed and this morning i wake up and it won't turn on. it's never done this before what can i do?

you could try ,removing the battery and power cord and holding the power button down for about 45sec to 1 minute ,then plug it back in see what happens

the computers model is Toshiba satellite a665-s5170

i know what the model is ,that the model # where the links i posted are taking you ,the model is capable of running 32 and 64 bit ,the reason i asked ,because there was no chipset driver listed for the 32bit windows .not sure what else to tell you ,using drivers from that site should make it work ,not sure what else to tell you ,something wrong with the device usually ,when drivers won't make it work .
if it were mine i would format and reload again

right click on the desktop go properties and it will show there

its not going to connect if the drivers are not installing correctly ,and if you did install the chipset driver all those controller devices should stop showing up in device manager , did you get any error messages when you tried installing the drivers ,

i already downloaded the driver with the specific model number and installed it. but it is not working. I do not have the driver back up CD

under the other Devices tab the following are marked as not find(yellow)

Intel(R) Centrino(R) advanced -N + Wimax 6250
Network controller
PCI simple communication Controller
Unknown device

I installed the driver ? what driver ,the network driver or the chipset driver .

all those missing drivers are devices controlled by the motherboards chipset.
is you win7 ultimate 32bit or 64bit

could be the popup blocker ,in IE go to tools and turn off popup blocker ,just to see if that the problem

did you go to toshiba for drivers ,it came with win7 home 64 bit ,is the ultimate 64 bit ,if so check here for drivers .starting with the motherboard chipset drivers

i have bought a msi mainbord 64 -bit with amd athelon 3.2 ghz processor is this combination is better than any other ? If there exist other combinations in the budget of 8000 Rs. Pls suggest .

i just used a floppy yesterday actually to load scsi drivers on my old Dell workstation 450 ,i could use nlite to install the drivers ,but then i would have to always remember where the nlite winxp disk is ,this way i just leave the floppy in the drive ,until i reload it again .lol

win7 should have Windows live mover maker ,but that's all ,you would need to go 3rd party for real good program ,and they are not cheap , just google pro video editing tools,judging by your signature link you know how google works ,correct

check the java site ,it seems to suggest both 32 and 64bit if you use 32 bit and 64 bit browsers .

i look in google and it seems to say on most sites that wpbt0.dll is trojan /malware related , i would suggest downloading and running and scanning your computer with either ,malwarebytes or superyantivirus

most tv's today have usb connection and will play slide show from a usb thumbdrive device

Solved:

Basically I had to take out my hardrive from my HP Touchsmart 300 and put it inside an old e-machine i had lying around in my garage and autonuke my harddrive fom there!

BTW don't ever waste your money on a Touchsmart...useless.

only new when it comes to linux ,and only use a live Linux ,but i think /dev/sdb is the second disk in the boot menu ,and a usb would show as sdd1 because it a removable device and not hard disk
OP cold be using a bootable disk like Dariks Boot and nuke on one of the many othere boot disk around , on a windows install

try this .assuming the OS you want to replace is still working ,and providing its in the boot list
go to Run type "msconfig" go to boot tab and delete it from the box in that tab.

giving its a netbook you are working with ,what are you using to install the new OS, a usb thumb drive or a usb dvd rom ,you might just need to go to the bios and select the install device as first boot device
when i google all or most of the info on Windows Setup [EMS Enabled] pertains to windows server 2003

most if not all newer cases don't have standoffs anymore , the one i have seen/used anyway

first thing i think of is the case front power button ,make sure its all connected proper to the board .or leave them all on plugged and use a small flat screw drive to jump the 2 pins marked for the PwSrW wire,from right to left they are pin 3 and 4 ,bottom row , that is if the case doesn't have the power button all wired to one plug.
