When in safe mode, uninstall your display drivers and then reboot normally. If windows loads up properly now, you need to obtain updated drivers for your display adapter.

I think youre right. Did you try resetting the CMOS? If this didnt help, well, yeah, the board could be toast.
No, it's not a windows thing I can tell you that (if it is, it's a service disabled on my XP Home box). I think it has to do with your video card drivers or software.
I agree it's not a windows feature. Such options are provided by the manufacturer …

I think it's more lkely a problem with the app you use to view the database. You could ask your Sys Admin to repair/reinstall the app.

The Matrix may be a great topic theoretically, but practically speaking, I think there are just way too many barriers for it to happen, at least in the near future. For one, Establishing a fast link that stays up 24/7/365 is an issue plaguing us today. Then, making sure the …

There really is no way to be sure without testing the processor on a known working board. Similarly, check the board with a known working processor.

The fact that it recognises CDs but not DVDs points to a problem with the pick-up mechanism. If the laptop is under warranty, send it back to gateway for a replacement. If not, send the drive in for repair.

Check the power and data connections. You can verify the power cable's plugged in if the drive's LED blinks when you switch on your computer or reboot your computer. As for the data cable, just make sure both ends are plugged in securely. If that doesnt help, try swapping the …

You need to visit the webste of the vendor who made your board. Diff vendors have diff BIOS flash files, so you cant use a generic BIOS upgrade to flash your BIOS. FYI, I suggest you flash the BIOS only if your system is facing some problems which are known …

Well, it depends . Does your board support RAM in Dual channel mode? If yes, get two identical sticks of 400MHz. Preferably matched pairs from Corsair or Kingston. If your board doesn't support Dual Channel, I'd still recommend 2 sticks simply because if one of your ram sticks goes bad, …

Actually, the MSI CD does come with the sound drivers. Use the MSI autorun facility to install the drivers. It's the most painless way of driver installation.

Try prying the key with a pin. If this doesn't help, well, you could invest in a new keyboard. They're really cheap these days.

A 2002 Hyundai Santro. Compact, maneuverable, comfortable, great mileage (16 kilometers per litre) and a great AC system. Ofcourse, the Sony CD System packs a wallop too.

I've noticed changing the Windows XP boot screen makes a few tabs from System properties to vabish. It's ot a good idea to change the boot screen. As for the BIOS, if you mess it up while modifying the flash rom, you could fry your 'puter.

If you only have 2 computers, assign each of them different static IP addresses. This will take care of your issues.

Your router is taking too long to assign your Desktop an IP address. If you're only using 2 PCs, I suggest you change your IP address to a Static IP address. That way, you won't have to wait while your router assigns an IP address.

Run a system scan for viruses/spyware. Once your system's clean, I suggest you run Windows setup and choose the upgrade option. This way, you'll restore any corrupt/missing files, and get your missing options back.

Your restore cache may have gone bad. Disable System Restore and then Re enable it. This will destroy all the earlier restore points and create a new one. System restore will function properly from now on.

I'm not too good at this, but if I were to take a guess, I'd say it's either the software acting wonky or one of the sensors failed. Because I don't think it's possible for the computer to even turn on without the nagative voltages. However, you could confirm this …

I tried the Vista build 5308, and I found the interface kinda confusing. Sure it was pretty, animated and all out eye candy, but that isn't the primary goal of an OS, is it? Infact, I found the transparencies to be more of an irritant than beneficial. In terms of …

actually, my friend had the same problem with his ASUS board. The same model as yours. Turned out the board was faulty. So, if you're sure the drivers are fine, the speaker is fine and the connections are fine, the mobo itself could be bad.

If you have an AGP slot and not a PCI-E slot, I guess that pretty much decides it. You'll need to get an AGP card.
