Re: This question comes up frequently. Don't delete the recovery partition. When you need it, you need it, and there isn't that much space involved. Get an external drive and move some files to it. The advantage is that this drive will also work on your next computer. Even better, install …

Re: What kind of RAID? Does your manual say to FDISK and Format the array? Have you done so? These RAID controllers tend to suck, by the way, and you will be better off without a RAID setup, IMHO.

If the drive is still good, you should be able to move/copy the files.

Re: There seems to be 2 factors: The reliability of the case. Metal cases cool better, and some have cooling fans. Cheap enclosures seem to fail often. Drive reliability. Lots of opinions, but I think it's a crapshoot. My WD drive has always been trouble free. I've got a Toshiba 2.5" …

Re: Boot to Safe mode with networking and see if you can connect. I'm not convinced that a virus is your problem. Look in Control Panel/Admin Tools/Event Viewer for system/application errors. Post ipconfig /all.
Re: There are registry cleaners that can help, like this one, which I have used many times without problems: http://personal.inet.fi/business/toniarts/ecleane.htm A much more important consideration is why you're looking for this information.
