check the firewall setting on windows firewall. make sure remote access is turned on, then enable all the same protocols on all the computers. like ipx/spx, file and printer sharing

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

i might be wrong, but drag and drop only works with DVD RW+- as for doing it inside of nero, you should be able to accomplish this, maybe a feature is turned off in nero or nero is not detecting you dvd drive

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Yes the clients are outlook 2003 installed
In server im not sure about out look 2003
We are sending and receiving mails whenever we need(every day).
In client machines Outlook is configured with servers private ip address but server is not configured with Microsoft exchange.
PST files of All client machines are stored in the same server.
No problem with mail sending and receiving !!!!

Im asking how this setup is working? What is the concept? (IT admin did not open his mouth)

on the server side they MUSt have exchange server running, thats how they can add user, give right and that sort of stuff, as for your pst file it is stored on the server for a few reason, one you can log on to any pc on the network and use the mail program, also it is better for backing up, insted on trying to run back up for all client pc (backup takes longer and will not run if you have the program opem) next it is beter manage by the admin than having the file on your pc, YOU can have your own pst file on your pc but you wouyld have ro creat a person folder and then create directory for the type of mails, for examlpe you can creat a sent item sub folder and coppy all your mails there, this pst will be saved on the user HDD. i hope this answer your questions. Let me know

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Yes they are.

then you need to change them back to automatice setting. go to control panel>network connection> right click on the wireless icon>choose properties> double click on Internet protocol tcp/ip, put a dot beside obtain IP address automatically and obtain dns server automatically, then on the alternate tab select automatic ip address

the shortcut on your desk top is probably set to automatic setting, and these setting are preventing it from connecting

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

base on whats below were these setting on your pc before. are they still on the pc.

Go to Start and then click on Control Panel. Double click Network and Internet Connections then click on Network Connections. Right Click Wireless Network Connection that you are using and hit Properties.
2. Please highlight Internet Protocol TCP/IP under General tab then click on the "Properties" button.
3. Click on "Use the following IP address" and enter the following:
IP:192.168.1.18
SubNet Mask : 255.255.254.0
Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1
4. Click on "Use the following DNS Servers" and enter the DNS 1: 74.134.0.25 and DNS 2: 74.134.0.27
5. Hit OK to exit all the way out."

1 are certain the PC at work is still on?
2 what settings did they change on the pc?
3 do u have a firewall on the pc?
4 was it a VPN connection you were using to get to the work PC?

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

base on this scenario, here are a few things you can do,
1- remove the wireless card, go to system properties, reight click on the card uninstall. restart the pc. insert the card if u get new hardware foud install the driver. as soon as you get connected go to the manufacture web site update the driver/firmware.(NB if the card is not detected in system properties its because it's plugged out. insert and then uninstall it)
2- if step one work you need not do this. but with the wired connection, check the ip address, if u have a 169.XXX.XX IP thats bad, not to worry download the fix here with another pc or type netsh winsock reset at the command prompt.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

definately a dns for host name, do u have a firewall, turn that off then try to connect

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

why don't you ask bill gates that, i was having the same problem, could not access shared drive, from some pc and some pc could not access shared printer when i add the protocols it work like a charm. hey feel free to try, what can an added protocol do to your pc.....

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

in the back of the router, there is a very small hole push a pencil in and hold for 10 sec, this will restore the router to the default setting erasing all configuration. then try to connect to the wireless network (which should be named linksys) then you can try the office connection shortcut

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

in safe mode do a restore to an earlier date if that is available.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

almost all other phone provider have a variant to the Iphine. why not see if your provider have one, i know sprint, verizon alltell

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

before you go get that drastic try this in the bios disable or remove the cd drive. restart the pc, then restart go back in the bios add the cd drive, when the pc boots up, see if the drive show up, if not do add new hardware. to see if the system detect the drive.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

they must think that users are stupid, all there equiptment goes bad AFTER the warranty is over, what they believe user are going to run to them for a new PC each time they MUSt be she sickest manufacturers. there should be a law suit against them

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

did you install a new version of XP over the one you had running on the PC?
then you try to restore to an earlier date?
really, tell me whats wrong with this picture?

the new install would wipe out all the system files, therefore if you did not do an actual restore point there woulb be non to go back to

any way tell us this when you start the pc do you see 2 boot options? meaning you can select which instalation to start? while installing the new version of XP did you format the HDD?

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

have you installed any other program, that woiuld require starting when the pc boots up? if so uninstall the program then reboot the pc

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

First clean memory slots, then try the original memory stick
if they don't work you have bad memory slots, if they work you need to look into if you purchase the correct memory sticks and you are not overload the borad. meaning what is the max memory the board will hold and the exact type of memory

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

as the admin you should block the program it self, blocking port will not fix the issue you might end up blocking ports that are to be used by other application you can also set up a proxy server that blocks access for limewire.

PS how do you allow employees to run such a program in the first place on a work network you are setting up yourself for hacking, virus, spyware and adware on your network. you need to implement tighter security. IS THIS PROGRAM REQUIRED FOR WORK?

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

what is the color depth of the video card right now. if you cannot change it you need to update the drivers. as for the video in windows media player you can change the brightness and colors within the player. click view choose enhancement>show enhancement, then scroll through the different one until you get to video settings

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

You have to check in systems >hardware tab> device manager> look for a group name other devices with a yellow ? sign, these are item that need drivers to be installed. look if u have one name audio

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

does it show up in bios of the pc? when i say removable i meant if the drive can be ejected.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

check your firewall and see if these ports are being blocked.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

have you tried changing any setting in the display properties. what happened for the screen to be this way

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

ok, can you remove the table or edit the code the student put in the cell, i know you state that you would like to know how the error was created but you already have the answer. they enter VB codes in a table, probably link to some other cell. the code will run, but it will be pointing to the same cell the code is written in. hence the circular reference.

remeber in excell one cell can take ALOT of data, so a vb code in a table would be the same thing.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

ok so the configuration is looking for the 9G drive. put it back, then you can reset the configuration and replace the 9 witht he 18.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

>>>The 8-pin jumper slot has no master or slave modes.
this is not possible on a HDD you got shafted. is there a sticker on the drive to tell you the jumper settings?

did you set your cd to be the first boot option in the bios, then you can boot from it and set up the HDD. was it detected in the bios

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

are the correct lights on the externalt case?
how about trying a different external case. or do you have access to a desktop PC, maybe you can try connecting to that PC INTERNALLY and see if it's detected... another thing to try shut down the laptop, plug the drive in then boot up the laptop.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

thank you my queen, i have seen a few thing worth checking out. So i will definately give them a try when i am here which is pretty much every day and very late at night , no life LOL

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

where is the icon for the drive that you are trying to open.
is it in the my computer list, windows explorer, on your desktop as a shortcut?

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

try booting with the cd and do you installation.

ensure the cd is set as the first boot option in the bios.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

is this a removable drive?

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

I agree with suspishio, plus you need to tell us the bios manufacture, some have different beep sequences.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

set the HDD to master with slave and set the CD to slave. this config would be on the Primary IDE cable.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Don't you guys notice the trend, for those of us who go way back to windows DOS, when windows 3.XX was release it was not really stable until numeous patches came out, then the very elegant windows 98 was the solve all that did not get stable until until xp was about to be realse after 98 went through 2 major patch that they call the last one second edition. the only reaosn why 98 was tolerrated was because of windows 2000, there were choices, then we have the brilliant XP just now living up to it's name in the wake of Vista. the same faith will be for vista when windows 7 comes out. so it's a continous cycle.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

yes each should be on seperate cable. there is, if u look at the back there are jumper settings for the cd dive maybe master is with no jumber attached, same can apply to the HDD

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

wise men/women always like to share experiences they have.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

What do you mean by ale? To make CD secondary master and HDD primary master will I have to change any jumpers, or just change IDE cables? Also what do you mean when you say (set both to master Single)? Sorry I am not as good with computers as I would like to be. Thanks for all your help thus far.

red is typo,

master single would be each drive is the only one on the cable some HDD have the option to set the jumpers to MASTER, MASTER WITH SLAVE, SINGLE, look on the HDD casing it will show you the different jumper settings.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

go to control panel>systems>hardware tab then device manager look under Sound Video, game controller if u have any audio device installed. or look for a group that says other devices.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Well, I realize I might not have enough information; I told him I would ask around and call him if I had any suggestions; he said he asked some other people and nobody else knew either. Another problem is it was difficult to understand him, but he said "everything" was popping up, and I remember him mentioning email. It might have helped if I could see an example in English. lol Maybe I could ask him if he shuts down the translation program if the problem is still happening.

see red section

if its email he is probably running outlook 2003 or google mail with auto notification turned on but that should only be on the right side by the time clock. i would do as caper suggest get scan for trojan

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

How do i turn off bios virus scan? CD Drive is Secodary Slave. I tried to reformat with CD but i get a BSOD that says Registry_Error

when your pc is posting you have an option to press either DEL, F1, or F11 to enter setup, press that key then look through the bios for any option to scan boot sector. disable that. I would ale put the CD on the Secondary MASTER and the HDD on the primary MASTER (setting both to master Single) Until you completed the install.

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

The boot.ini file for the setup says:

[Boot Loader]
Timeout=5
Default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[Operating Systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn
C:\$WIN_NT$.~BT\BOOTSECT.DAT="Microsoft Windows XP Professional Setup"

delete whats in red

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

I get this message "Windows/System32/Config/System file missing or corrupt" when I try to boot into XP Pro. I tried to use the windows CD to get into the repair console but I get a BSOD error that says Registry_Error. I get the same message when I tried to reformat. I cannot boot into safe mode, last known good config, or regular boot up. Thanks in advance for all the help, it means a lot.

turn off the bios virus scan., how is the cd drive connected to the mobo, did u try to format with the cd?

bobbyraw 16 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

is it connecting to the correct network?
is your network encrypted? (wep key)
what is the error message you are getting, when you try to connect/try to get on to the internet.?
Is this a laptop with built in wireless or desktop with wireless card.?
