if it's a pirated OS that keeps working, it is probably a VLK version. purchasing one of those is pretty expensive. you should buy a simple OEM and reinstall it. or move to LINUX! yey ;)

usually whatever comes before the domain name is a hostname. so abc.domain.com, and xyz.domain.com are supposedly different servers. it can be overruled, of course, but nonetheless. so if you encounter www.domain.com and www2.domain.com, the domain has more than one www server, and since you can't have duplicate names, the second …

what's so special about mepis? I say, if you're planning to use a *nix OS, go for the known distros - RH (based), SuSE, Debian, *buntu, Mandrake(riva), Gentoo or if you're a real guru - Slackware, *BSD, OpenSolaris, HP-UX everything depends on your particular needs. and in any case any …

hey there neighbour :) everything is pretty simple - have a look at emule - it's crowded with teach-yourself books and CBT's. just go on jobmaster.co.il/jobnet.co.il and see for yourself what's needed most

everything depends on several things: 1. did you get any documents stating the fact that he sold you any software? 2. is the software pirated, or just time limited demos? 3. do you want to go into all that leagl crap?

if you want an RPM distro, leave redhat and fedora alone and use centos. it's a free version of the actuall redhat enterprise linux. excellent for lamp, and very well documented everywhere, including howtoforge.com

you can simply copy the outlook express folder (somewhere in your home dir - not sure where it can be found in ME) and export the pop/smtp/imap settings to importable files

possible and easy. connect a wifi AP to the third card and set it up to your wishes. I have almost the same setup, only with checkpoint firewall running on linux, and a fourth card connecting the firewall gateway to my dmz

what kind of server do you have? in theory, what you have to do is install the second AD, get activedir and dns to run and syncronize with the first server. then transfer FSMO roles to the second, and dcpromo the first server, demoting it from the domain

if you want to use a router with emule you need to do two things: 1. define the emule ports in the router, in order to get the high-id and better speeds 2. in emule define the concurrent connections to less than 256 ( I just set it to 200) …

what you're looking for is an access point in repeater mode. although getting a wire from the first router to a single location, and connecting it to a simple ethernet hub is much simpler, more effective secure stable and fast

question is - can it work with the card? do you have the drivers? theoretically fat32 (win98 doesn't support ntfs unless you install some 3rd party software) can work with up to 32Gb hard disks. that's of course totally wrong, and it's just microsoft's way of not solving fat32 issues …

Don't know about the modem, but if it is capable of performing as a NAT router, you can easily use it with a hub/switch. I have used this configuration with Alcatel 510, ECI 270, ECI 312+, Aztech (some model) and several others. All you need to do is configure the …

If I wanted a mac, I'd buy a cheap generic PC and install a MACOS there. Not hard to do these days. On the other hand, Macs aren't easier to use than Windows PC's, we're not in the 1980-90s anymore PS I personally use Debian :)
