you mean the UNIX OS? you cant just download it as it is propieratary e.g HP/UX or AIX If you want a free system that is very like UNIX then take a look at FreeBSD

Here is how to do it. Run windows update (the web version) and click where it says "Change to Microsoft Update Today!" - Microsoft update has updates for all MS products, office, visual studio, sql server etc.... I got the office 2003 SP from there

i think the BIOS battery may be flat - if this goes flat the BIOS settings get resert after every boot. theese look like a watch battery on the motherboard - consult the motherboard manual and replace - these are under £20. DO NOT INSTALL WRONG WAY ROUND

Go into control panel -> administrative tools -> services check that the THEMES service is set to automatic and started. also check your Local Security Policy (PRO ONLY!) and make sure that "Force Classic Theme" etc.... are NOT checked

Both sleep and cls are non-portable. There is no portable method to clear the screen Thats because you cant guarauntee the output device is nececerially the screen. e.g on an embedded device it could be a typewriter or something
