hello, firefox updates automaticly ,where from and what update did you download , sounds like you are infected with a virus/trojan/malware ,run a full scan with your antivirus program ,also download free version of and run full scan with malwarebytes , [mbm](www.malwarebytes.org),removing all it finds .

don't have a cooling fan to suggest ,but i will suggest can of compressed ait ,to keep you cpu cooling fan and heatsinc clear of dust ,doesn't take much dust to cause heat buildup

Dell Optiplex gx280 for one thing its to old to spend money on ,I just recently repalced 2[with newer used one ] of these for customers of mine, they had similur issues as yours ,one had a bad psu and the other one had leaky capsators .

it might/should fit,most case are a standard width ,but if you are looking for ultimate cooling i would suggest a bigger case, as the link is showing a micro-atx case ,not much space in them for moving air for effincent cooling

yes the bottom 2 are for floppy drives or card readers , it been awhile but ise to put harddrive in those slots,try them upside down[the data wont fall off .lol] and see if the holes line up , drill some new holes maybe ,of course remove the motherboard first …

if you cleaned the thermal paste[not glue]off the cpu chip you will need to replace with new paste or you willhave overheating and could damage the cpu

hi welcome to daniweb ,you use usb headset to hear the sound,so the onboard audio still workes just not the speaker plugin correct ,did you check volume control option to make sure that the speakers are set as the default player
