I bet there is a thick wad of dust between the fan and heatsink! It is extreemly common on the DV series laptops. You need to get in there and clean it all out before it fries your graphics processor, which again, is very common on the DV series. If …

It's most likely that the hard drive has had it. It's simple, buy a new hard drive and install windows from a cd onto it. If you don't have a windows cd then you will have to buy that too.

When you say "open it" do you mean you are turning it on from being completely off or do you mean you are waking it from sleep mode? It is importand to clarify which of these you usually do.

Sounds like your computer is infected. To get the ball rolling download Mbam with another computer and get it to do a full scan then post it's resulting log file here. Google will easily find Mbam. If you don't have another computer to hand then try pressing F8 before windows …

For your bios problem, try using a ps2 keyboard. To get rid of the redundant windows entry on startup, click run and type msconfig and press enter. In msconfig click on the boot then press the check boot path. That should fix both your problems.

A pc power supply will supply whatever is needed and no more so going for a 750 will use no more power than a lower wattage one. The benefits of going for a 750 will be 2 fold. 1 - You will have a wattage "overhead" for future upgrades and …

For what puropse do you need a VM? I ask this as usually it's capabilities are quite limited. I found setting up a dual boot to be far more sucessful and more useful than a VM.

Did you download the drivers from your motherboard manufacturers site? What do you mean by XP version 2? Do you mean service pack 2?

If you know what you are doing, dismantle it and get all of the dust out of the cooling system. If you don't know how to do it then you need to find someone that does.

You need a new bios battery. If it is a PC then it's a CR2032 battery. If it's a laptop then you may have to dismantle it to find out what battery it needs.

Are your keyboard and mouse usb? Does your motherboard have ps2 keyboard and mouse ports? If so, you will need to borrow a ps2 keyboard to go into your bios with so that you can enable usb legacy support.

Avoid all of them, that's my advice. If you need drivers or want to speed up your computer there are many things you can do that are far far far more effective than all of those programs.

I say forget the dell. It's in a slimline case so you can only fit low profile graphics cards in it which will limit what you can fit in there. Also the slimline PSU won't be very powerful and will cost an arm and a leg to upgrade. Slimline cases …

Slow booting can also be caused by a failing hard drive. Do a full test with hdtune - http://www.hdtune.com/download.html If it finds any bad sectors then it it time to replace your hard drive.

If you have a monitor to hand or can borrow one, the first step is to see how it goes from the external output.

http://www.cnet.com/laptops/dell-inspiron-1525/4507-3121_7-32814939.html It's specs are good enough for windows 7 and being a core 2 duo CPU it is capable of running 64 bit. Putting windows 8 on it wouldn't be a great idea just yet as there are plenty of issues with it and a majority of the software you …

Upgrading ram will make no difference to what windows 7 version you have (apart from speeding it up obviously), it's the CPU that can sometimes make a difference. Your CPU is a 64 bit one so it is capable of running both 32bit and 64bit. Things to bear in mind …

There is not enough amperage for what you want to do unless you have a very high output PSU. Also your computer will put out some noise on the 12 volt rail which you will have to correct. I tried this a few years ago and the result was very …

Try running Mbam on it. Google will easily find it. MSE and Trend are virus scanners and cannot deal with most malware whereas Mbam can.

To get the ball rolling, download Mbam, http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html update it and do a full scan, get it to remove all it finds and post its resulting log here. Don't do it as a screenshot but copy and paste it into your next reply.

Is it a card or is it built in on your motherboard? I suspect the latter. if it is built in then get the latest chipset drivers from your motherboard makers site and see if that makes any difference.
